Tesco Value Bread
Review of Tesco Value White bread by  TheHairyGodmother

Advantages: very cheap, ok if you are on a serious budget
Disadvantages: goes mouldy quickly, not very tasty

...Bread. One of the nations staple foods, and certainly one of my favourites. There is so much you can do with bread, from bread and butter pudding, to sandwiches and toast, to dippy soldiers and croutons. Most people eat bread most days of the week and if it is made the right way with the right kind of flour it can be very healthy for you. Bread these days somes in all manner of shapes and sizes, flavours and colours and will a whole range of toppings and additions such as sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, nuts, fruit... the list goes on. .... not Tesco Value bread! The Cost *********** As you would expect, Tesco Value bread is cheap. Very cheap! Currently it is 23p per 800g loaf in my local Tesco store. Whereas most high quality loaves cost in excess of 85p for the same sized loaf you would be forgiven for thinking... Read review

Tesco value noodles won't cost you a packet!
Review of Tesco value chicken noodles by  Mickie26

Advantages: good price, tasty. easy to cook
Disadvantages: Not very filling, not very nutritious, very basic packaging

...noodles they are still very tasty. For an extra tasty treat try putting the cooked noodles into a sandwich. I think there is nothing nicer than a cooked noodle sandwich. Though this might sound strange it actually tastes delicious and if you experiment with these noodles I am sure you will be able to find other uses for them! Why not try putting them on top of a pizza? Tesco Value Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles offer cheap convenient food that can be made in a matter of minutes. If you haven't got time for breakfast and are in a rush then the noodles will be ready in a few minutes. In fact, if you are anything like me then you will eat them out of the packet as you race out of the door. You could even spend a bit longer in bed and cook these for your breakfast. They make a tasty snack for any time of day and I love eating these for my... Read review

Tesco Premium Cat Food - buy it!
Review of Tesco Premium Cuts in Gravy Cat Food by  plymouth117

Advantages: Great value for money, good range, litter doesn't smell
Disadvantages: none for us at all, other users may find some

...We live in a household where 3 cats rule the roost. Well we certainly don't have servants who feeds us and clean our toilets. Or for that matter have free board and lodgings! Yes, we are here to cater to our cats' whims and providing the right food is important, otherwise we wake up to a nice nugget of recycled food strategically placed in protest!! We have gone through all types of food for our cats (2 adults and 1 older kitten) including all the big names and all the value names. One day, being strapped for cash, we decided to risk a protest poo and try feeding the boys Tesco cat food. We realised that from one 30p (or so) tin we can spread it out and feed our cats the same amount of food as three 30p (or so) whiskas pouches!! So we placed the cat food in the their bowls, provided them with dry food to nibble on throughout... Read review

Another Tesco Value Hit
Review of Tesco Value Shampoo by  foxy_roxy

Advantages: Price, it cleanses
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for dry hair

...***INTRODUCTION*** When times are hard and the belt needs tightening Tesco Value is usually the first port of call. Our house is a rainbow of blue and white stripes with the familiar splash of red, from Value washing powder to Value chocolate - we have it all. My husband has been using Tesco Value shampoo for many years with no adverse affects and recently we all had a go. ***THE BOTTLE*** The huge one litre bottle is tall and round, made from clear plastic with a white screw-top lid. There is a white label in a band around the width of the bottle with the word 'shampoo' written in red writing and the Tesco Value logo above it on the right. As the bottle is transparent you can easily see the contents within and the product is a vivid green in colour - rather like the traditional Fairy Liquid green. Directions for use... Read review

Concentrate ! Tesco Value Orange Juice Price Up?
Review of Tesco Value Pure Orange Juice by  queenmaebh

Advantages: Fine everyday family juice
Disadvantages: Value for money rate might be going down

...Is it me or are food prices, including Tesco's, slowly but inexorably creeping up? Is this inflation by the back door? Well, Tesco's had better watch out if these rises are cynical and unnecessary as they had better not push the consumers, us , too far ! There's Value and Value - and in this range it ALWAYS comes down to the price. In the high and lofty eschelons of the Luxury "just pressed this minute ,with all the bits" market where flavour and freshness are everything, it is easier to get away with the odd few pennies on the price. People can't be bothered to take any notice of the difference -they are too busy earning all those pennies in the first place. But at the bottom end, where we sadly languish!, and where Mrs "Save the Pennies and The Pounds Will Look After Themelves" rules the roost, every penny will be noticed. People... Read review

Tesco Value Tortilla Chips :-P
Review of Tesco Value Tortilla Corn Chips by  mints4merlin

Advantages: 25p a pack! ideal for dipping
Disadvantages: taste bland on their own, boring packaging.

...& chive dip, although others such as island dressing, sour cream and chive, and red pepper dips taste equally nice with these. Eaten on thier own they can be fairly bland and the after taste of grease lingers, requiring a drink or some food (my choice being chocolate) to rid the flavour. The saltiness of these chips is also apparent, more so when eaten by themselves, with no dip. Overall in my opinion, these are better served with a dip or two - and preferably in the dark because then you forget how many you eat and don't feel so guilty :) Value for Money: At 25p a pack they are a considerable bargain compared to similar products, especially those with brand names such as Pringles, Dortitos, or McCoys which cost around £1.49p for the same quantity. However to be so cheap Tesco is bound to be cheating someone out of a good bargain... Read review

Tesco Value Noodles - Cheapest Meal In The World!
Review of Tesco value chicken noodles by  carless92

Advantages: Quick to make, Easy to make, CHEAP
Disadvantages: None I can think of!

.... They are perfectly shaped in the packet, a neat rectangle, that makes them perfect for stacking neatly in storage. They have the TESCO Value mark on the top of the corner, in red an blue. The writing on the packet is in shades of red (keeping with the TESCO value colurs) and there is a picture of noodles temptingly hanging from a pair of chopsticks. They have the weight of 65g and the picture of a pan and a microwave (cooking guides - you can cook them on the hob or in the microwave). On the back of the packet they have: - Ingredients - Cooking Instructions - Storage (cool dry place) - Nutrition - Allergy Advice (contains gluten and wheat, may contain nuts and/or seeds) Nutrition Typical Values per 100g per pack Energy 546kj 1449kj 130kcal... Trusty Tesco Value Thick sliced white Loaf.....
Review of Tesco Value White bread by  bobbetta

Advantages: Very Good price, Quallity seems to have improved
Disadvantages: Might need to use it quicker then other brands

...Over the past three and a half years that i've been living in my own place, budgeting for shopping etc I've always felt the need to hunt out food that is good value for money and the lower in price the better. I do have to admit over the years I would only resort to buying Tesco value bread when I really couldn't afford a better quality loaf and I rarely finished a loaf unless using it for toast as to me it had a horrible texture a strange smell aabot it, the bottom edge of the slice always had an un-appetising look about it -like it was coming away from the slice and was all dried up and horrible. HOWEVER!! What with CHRISTMAS coming up and having to stick to a tighter budget AGAIN!! so I can afford all those christmas pressies etc- I bought Tesco Value loafs in place of my usual loaf again.......Only to my suprise I found... Tesco Value Bourbon Creams
Review of Tesco Value Bourbon Creams by  dobbsygirl

Advantages: Good Value For Money
Disadvantages: None

...We like Tesco's Value Bourbon Creams - Biscuits. They are good value for money, currently you can buy them for 30p for a 400g packet. Having a large family to feed, I have to watch what I spend. You can recognise the value range biscuits by the white background and the Tesco's logo on the top left hand side, a picture of two bourbon cream biscuits on the top right hand side. Bourbon creams written in the middle in the middle and to the left. And a distinct red thick line across the bottom of the packet. The chocolate sandwich biscuit has a crunchy texture and the middle has a soft chocolate flavoured filling. I don't worry to much about the texture of the biscuit, because, I love to dunk mine in a hot cup of tea or coffee. mmmm ( disgusting I know, but enjoyable all the same.) They do taste chocolatey. But if to many biscuits... Read review

Tesco Value Sim
Review of Tesco Value Mobile by  voodoorin

Advantages: Really cheap
Disadvantages: can only top up via tesco

...Tesco Value Mobile Tesco value Mobile is the cheapest network that I have come across, it is ridiculously cheaper than the other networks and even cheaper than the normal "Tesco sim". With Tesco value Mobile you just get the basics calling and texting (but only in the UK). The Tesco network runs on 02 so normally you get signal (it is quite rare that I don't have a signal), 02 has 99% population coverage in the UK. There are two catches with Tesco Value Mobile first you have to buy the sim card from tesco.com and also topping up can not be done without Tesco involved, the way's you can top up are - E voucher from a Tesco store - Online (you can set it to top up your phone on a regular basis) - Credit / Debit card via the phone Its unfortunate that you cannot top in normal stores using e top up, but as Tesco's are taking...
