Tesco value noodles won't cost you a packet!
Review of Tesco value chicken noodles by
Mickie26
Advantages: good price, tasty. easy to cook
Disadvantages: Not very filling, not very nutritious, very basic packaging
...them in the microwave or eat them from the packet without even cooking them. The packet that is easy to open comes with a small sachet of flavouring that you sprinkle over the noodles.
I don't think that unless you knew this was a value meal you would know. It certainly doesn't taste like it costs only 8p. There are a range of different flavours to choose from, but chicken flavour is the one I am reviewing. The chicken noodles are also perfect for chicken noodle soup, one of my favourite dishes. I think the only difference is the tin foil packet that gets put in the packet. Oh and they are also a bit smaller compared with other packets of noodles, but for 8p you can't complain. Kids also love these as they are so easy to eat.
Tesco Value Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles are not the healthiest choice for those on low fat diets...

VALUE ADDED TUNA (VAT)
Review of Tesco Value Tuna by
JeffreyB
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Status
...I tried the recipe below with ground garlic instead of chilli this was something of an improvement. the tuna taste is not sophisticated enough to stand on its own. 1 tin per person and less pasta still works.
*** INTRO ***
Due to financial problems I started to cut back on my meat intake mainly by portion size. It was then that I decided to look at tinned fish again. Tesco have a range of products denoted by a VALUE label. I'm cooking turkey stir-fry with pasta and suddenly realised that tuna might be a sufficient substitute. My local Tesco are offering tinned value tuna chunks at 34p per 185g tin. I decided to give it a try.
*** THE PRODUCT ***
The white tin cover has most of the information in blue easily legible ink. The 185g net weight reduces to 129g when drained (mine in brine). The product is sold as dolphin friendly...

Its a Fruit not a Vegtable
Review of Tesco Value Tinned Chopped Tomatoes by
newby2
Advantages: Cheap and does the job
Disadvantages: none
...Tesco Value Chopped Tomatoes..........
i think out of all the Tesco Value product that are avalible that this one has to be the best and perhaps the one i seem to buy most of. I have stacks of these tins lining my cupboard shelves becuase for under 20 pence for this 400 gram tin what you are getting is a bargain.
These chopped tomatoes can be used in so many dishes and becuase we have a lot of pasta type dishes in our house these tins of tomatoes come in really handy.
i would say that i couldnt find a difference between these value tomatoes at this cheap price and other more expensive tomatoes with a more popular name.
They are exactly what they say oin the tin, even if the label looks very cheap and with a trolley full of value goods i feel sometimes a little embarressed. But all i think of is i am not spending...

Tesco Value Sim
Review of Tesco Value Mobile by
voodoorin
Advantages: Really cheap
Disadvantages: can only top up via tesco
...Tesco Value Mobile
Tesco value Mobile is the cheapest network that I have come across, it is ridiculously cheaper than the other networks and even cheaper than the normal "Tesco sim". With Tesco value Mobile you just get the basics calling and texting (but only in the UK). The Tesco network runs on 02 so normally you get signal (it is quite rare that I don't have a signal), 02 has 99% population coverage in the UK.
There are two catches with Tesco Value Mobile first you have to buy the sim card from tesco.com and also topping up can not be done without Tesco involved, the way's you can top up are
- E voucher from a Tesco store
- Online (you can set it to top up your phone on a regular basis)
- Credit / Debit card via the phone
Its unfortunate that you cannot top in normal stores using e top up, but as Tesco's are taking...

Beanz meanz Tesco Value, ok so it does not go!
Review of Tesco Beans in Tomato Sauce by
BUBBLES171
Advantages: Plenty of beans
Disadvantages: Too Liquidy
...Ok so the title does not sound as good but does the product? The bean is actually Haricot beans.
Packaging
---------------
Tin can with the Tesco white value label around with the 7 lines and Tesco value brand underneath it.
In the centre it reads Baked Beans in tomato sauce, 420g, quality guaranteed.
On the back is cooking guides and storage instructions together with nutritional values.
It is also suitable for vegetarians. These are produced in Italy for Tesco.
The contents
------------------
When opening the tin, you can smell the tomato sauce and it is crammed full of baked beans.
I find with this the sauce is rather runny and a very bland looking orangey colour as though it has been mixed with a lot of water.
The beans are quite nice and taste like many other high street brands. They are quite firm little...

Tesco Value Bread
Review of Tesco Value White bread by
TheHairyGodmother
Advantages: very cheap, ok if you are on a serious budget
Disadvantages: goes mouldy quickly, not very tasty
...Bread. One of the nations staple foods, and certainly one of my favourites. There is so much you can do with bread, from bread and butter pudding, to sandwiches and toast, to dippy soldiers and croutons.
Most people eat bread most days of the week and if it is made the right way with the right kind of flour it can be very healthy for you.
Bread these days somes in all manner of shapes and sizes, flavours and colours and will a whole range of toppings and additions such as sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, nuts, fruit... the list goes on.
.... not Tesco Value bread!
The Cost
***********
As you would expect, Tesco Value bread is cheap. Very cheap! Currently it is 23p per 800g loaf in my local Tesco store. Whereas most high quality loaves cost in excess of 85p for the same sized loaf you would be forgiven for thinking...

Another Tesco Value Success!
Review of Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives by
danmclovin
Advantages: Great tasting, cheap!
Disadvantages: Faultless!
...I've been experimenting with Tesco value products for some time now, since the prices of basically everything has been going up, and have found the value range a good way to cut costs in the supermarket. I've been very pleased with the majority of Tesco value items that I have bought, not at all what I expected, and the Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives are no exeption.
The Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives are made from wheat flour, milk chocolate (23%), vegetable oil, sugar, wholemeal wheat flour, glucose-fructose syrup, raising agents and salt. Each biscuit contains 85 calories (4% of your recommended daily allowance), 4.5g of sugar (5%), 3.9g of fat (6%) and 0.1g of salt (2%).
The Tesco value biscuits come in 300g packs, which contains 19 biscuits each. They are packed in a thin plactic film, which is coloured...

Tescos value is GOOD value
Review of Tesco Value Plain Chocolate by
sillyssally
Advantages: it is cheap and good for cooking
Disadvantages: it only comes in big bars
...Tescos is the nearest supermarket to us. It is cheaper than the little local shops like the late shop and the spar so we usually shop there. When I was younger we did not have much money and now that we do have more I always forget that we do and still look for bargains. This bar is one of those bargains.
THE PACKGING
All the Tescos value products look the same so you can recognize them quickly and easily I think. The paper covering the bar is white and has on it a red and blue design and the words for the brand Tesco value and the product Plain chocolate and the size 100g. It also has on it the words that quality is guaranteed. This is all on the front and on the back are ingredients for the bar and other useful stuff like if you do not like it what you should do (take it BACK and make a BIG FUSS)
THE BAR
Plain chocolate...

Tesco Value Line...updated
Review of Tesco (Shop) by
pagan
Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: some are disgusting
...a very good toilet cleaner though!
Lemonade - Tastes OK, nothing special but very good as a mixer, I purchase this regularly.
Cornflakes - Not tried them myself, however I friend of mine tried them thinking "well a conrflake is a cornflake isn't it?" she poured out her first bowlful and they were grey! She tried to eat them ignoring the hideous colour but unfortunatly they tasted just as bad as they looked! Go for Kellogs!
Tinned Tomatoes - probably the best value at 9p. They sometimes have bits of skin still attached that you can pick off before using but that is a small price to pay, I use them as a base in curries, spaggy bol, lasagne etc. Very good value.
Tissues - I prefer Kleenex Mansize, Tesco value are too small and quite rough, if you have a cold your nose soon becomes very sore.
Dusters/J cloths etc - well, again...

Another Tesco Value Hit
Review of Tesco Value Shampoo by
foxy_roxy
Advantages: Price, it cleanses
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for dry hair
...***INTRODUCTION***
When times are hard and the belt needs tightening Tesco Value is usually the first port of call. Our house is a rainbow of blue and white stripes with the familiar splash of red, from Value washing powder to Value chocolate - we have it all. My husband has been using Tesco Value shampoo for many years with no adverse affects and recently we all had a go.
***THE BOTTLE***
The huge one litre bottle is tall and round, made from clear plastic with a white screw-top lid. There is a white label in a band around the width of the bottle with the word 'shampoo' written in red writing and the Tesco Value logo above it on the right. As the bottle is transparent you can easily see the contents within and the product is a vivid green in colour - rather like the traditional Fairy Liquid green. Directions for use...
