Tesco Frozen Beef Lasagne: It's a lasagne with beef in it!
Advantages: Great taste, lots of cheese, not overloaded with meat.
Disadvantages: None.
...As I am no longer living somewhere permanently I am staying with my sister and like to keep some meals in her freezer ready for whenever I pop home for a night or two to save me worrying about cooking for hours and to save her worrying about food going bad in the fridge. I buy the Tesco ready meals fairly regular and these are a long term price offer. Either £1.00-£1.20 each or 5 for £4.00 and this is just a fantastic price and I probably buy five different meals once a month or so.
I grab this box from the fresher and once I get through the cardboard (no perforated edge on this!) I am met with a black plastic tray with clear film and 'meat lasagne' on the top in black print so at least they've got some sort of measure to ensure the meat & vegetarian ones don't get mixed up! To cook this in the oven (45 minutes from frozen) I just stab...

Tesco Premium Cat Food - buy it!
Advantages: Great value for money, good range, litter doesn't smell
Disadvantages: none for us at all, other users may find some
...We live in a household where 3 cats rule the roost. Well we certainly don't have servants who feeds us and clean our toilets. Or for that matter have free board and lodgings! Yes, we are here to cater to our cats' whims and providing the right food is important, otherwise we wake up to a nice nugget of recycled food strategically placed in protest!!
We have gone through all types of food for our cats (2 adults and 1 older kitten) including all the big names and all the value names. One day, being strapped for cash, we decided to risk a protest poo and try feeding the boys Tesco cat food.
We realised that from one 30p (or so) tin we can spread it out and feed our cats the same amount of food as three 30p (or so) whiskas pouches!! So we placed the cat food in the their bowls, provided them with dry food to nibble on throughout...

Working for Tesco
Advantages: Good pay, great benefits package
Disadvantages: Crap uniform, crap managers
...Ok, first of all, I'd just like to mention, this is a looooooooooooong review, so if you're not actually interested in reading about Tesco as an employer, then I'd suggest you don't bother as it will take some patience to get through!
When I left school at the age of 18, and having decided I couldn't be bothered with university, I suddenly had to face the big bad world and go and find myself a job. I wasn't really fussy about what job I did - I've never been ambitious, and simply wanted a job where I could go to work, do my job, come home and not have to think about it.
As our local Tesco is just 5 minutes away, I decided to apply there. I wrote a letter requesting an application form, and a few days later received a lovely letter and the form I had asked for. I read through the form and thought, wow, I don't know how to answer...

naturesmenu frozen dog food, raw meat
Advantages: super healthy dog, very small mess, shiny coat, dogs love it
Disadvantages: needs supplementing, has to be frozen/defrosted
...This food is so good as it is basically the nearest you can get to the natural diet of your dog.
This means the digestive system can handle this food better than any kibble, dry or tinned food.
The food is packaged in meal sized packs and every dog I know which is fed on this food loves it. Also every dog I know fed on this food has an immaculate coat that is noticably more glossy and shiny than most other dogs.
Some people do not like the idea of feeding this food as they think its a bit disgusting. However I would rather deal with this food at that end than the result of other food types at the other end. Dogs fed on this have very small compact number 2s as they absorb most of the food and their digestive system is built to cope with the stuff that isnt absorbed.
The main downfall of this food is it needs to be...

Real Frozen Food
Advantages: Decent food for frozen and very cheap
Disadvantages: not so good for fresh stuff
...they can be useful. One of the recent ones was an offer where you could buy some frozen meats, and get some chips, some veg, some cake and some ice-cream all for a fiver. I don't always take these up because I'm a picky eater and a vegetarian, but for families I could see the value of such offers.
Even more suprising - the food tastes good! I'm not a fan of Safeway/Morrisons because their own make stuff often tastes like cardboard. You would think that this problem would be amplified with frozen food but Iceland manage to make their stuff both edible and attractive.
Their fresh produce isn't as good as their frozen, and their selection of fresh stuff is smaller, but I can usually find everything I need in there unless I'm in the mood for a good salad or a specific sauce for pasta.
The layout of their shop makes finding stuff...

Tesco trains
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: As good as original brands
...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages, sign and mountains all for £24...

Tescos
Advantages: Great Value
Disadvantages: Puts local businesses under stress
...Tescos is King of all supermarkets and I think that they are best for value in the long term or in the big shop as well. As a student I have found that the tesco down the road from me is my new home, as opposed to the Centre up the road that can be so expensive some times in comparison.
Tescos sells your average grocerys as well as dvd's and electricals, clothes, office supplies, tobacco and confectionary, alcohol, cards for special occassions and toys. Everything you need seems to almost be in one store, there is also a tesco value line that provides Tescos own products at a cheaper price.
The staff in Tescos are always friendly where I come from in Cookstown, they always help you find something if your not quite sure where it is and always strike up a pleasant conversation at the help desk, though I understand that some...

Tesco supermarket
Advantages: A wide variety of well priced goods
Disadvantages: Toilets maybe need cleaning a little more often
...Tesco plc over the years has become a household name.
A gentleman by the name of Jack Cohen who hailed from East London founded the company in 1919.
The Tesco brand first appeared in 1924,when Jack Cohen bought a shipment of tea from T.E.Stockwell..he combined the first three letters of the name (TES) along with the first tow letters of his own surname (CO ) and formed the word `Tesco`.
Tesco started life as a retailer of food and drink, but recent years have seen Tesco diversify into other areas such as clothing, consumer electronics, financial services,CD`s ,music downloads,Internet service, telecoms, health insurance, dental plans, software and DVD`s.
In 2008 Tesco became the World`s fourth largest retailer, with profits exceeding 2 billion pounds.
The Tesco company employ over 273,000 people.

TESCO
Advantages: Friendlly people, easy job
Disadvantages: pay,staff benefits
...and mark you for how you interact with your customer, how you pack their bags - this is really easy to pass seeing as though the tester is stood right next to you, and how much does it cost for being polite to a customer - NOTHING.
The uniform is free and personally I liked it - I liked the blue shirts and wearing my skirt, however the women's pants were very unflattering and made my bottom look bigger than it already is!
I found the staff canteen reasonably priced - I used a cardinal card (where you insert money into a machine and it gave you "credit" to pay for my food so I didn't take money down onto the shop floor.
Also Tesco have poor rewards for their staff, they have a staff discount card of 10% - yes thats right 10%, they get rubbish pay rises and for Xmas they get Tesco vouchers!
For loyal service you MAY get a parker pen...

All aboard the Tesco train
Advantages: Cheap, well made, compatible with other brands
Disadvantages: none i can see
...I have 6 young nephews all are train mad and the all have the ELC train sets. You know the ones I mean wooden tracks and engines that cost a fortune.
Well come Chritmas and birthdays buying for them all is a nightmare so i usually end up getting them additions to their trainsets but find the early learning ones a bit pricy, a single engine is around £5 and a set of 4 wooden people will se you back £4.
So while doing me grocery shopping I decided to stop off at the toy secion in Tesco to see if there was anything suitable for nephew who was turning 3 years old. It was here I discovered that Tesco do a wooden train set which is compatible with other brands. After very close inspection I decided it looked just as good quality as the ELC and for a fraction of the price. On this occasion I bought a zoo train which included an engine, 3...
