After Eight chocolate Ice Cream Cones!
Advantages: Chocolate, mint and ice cream
Disadvantages: The cone is a bit chewy
...crispy but once you got to the bottom half it seemed to go a bit soft and a little bit chewy. Now, this probably has something to do with the fact that they are frozen treats so you can't expect them to be mega fresh like a cone in an ice cream shop would be but I still wanted them to be a little better.
Each cone is also only 191 calories, so for a dessert I think this is pretty good and will not be too fattening if you have one now and again.
The box is very easy to spot as it looks just like a box of After Eight chocolates, the familiar dark green colour and then a picture of the ice cream cone on the outside. A big sign on the box advertised the fact that they were only £2, this is actually what first attracted my attention to the box so it was quite a good marketing ploy. I'm not sure how look the promotion will last but I would...

Tesco certainly know how to interpret "mint chocolate chip"!
Advantages: Tastes luxurious, pretty enough to offer as a posh dessert
Disadvantages: Might be a bit too sugar and/or calorie heavy for some
...of ice cream the negative points usually come up when you look further into the nutritional information. I was interested to read that the tub estimates one serving to be 53g (or 2 scoops) of ice cream because, realistically, unless I was eating this ice cream with something else (fruit salad, say, or some other dessert) I would expect the typical serving - especially when I consider my interpretation of one typical ice cream portion - to be at least double the 53g quantity suggested by Tesco. Whether that makes me greedy, too keen on ice cream or means that Tesco employs nutritional advisers who are lighter eaters, I don't know.
Assuming a person was to stick to their suggested 53g serving they would consume 120 calories, 15.6g sugar, 4.9g fat (of which 4.4g is saturated) and 0.2g salt. So this is clearly not an ice cream that would suit...

Whipped Cream and Nuts for Dessert
Advantages: A rich, creamy, luxury ice cream
Disadvantages: The lid is difficult to remove
...There is such a huge variety of ice cream in our shops and supermarkets at the moment, that I felt spoilt for choice when I visited Tesco recently, looking for a tub of ice cream to put in the freezer.
Tesco have introduced their own range of ice cream, which are similar in appearance to the Carte D?or style of desserts, and are presented in 1 litre flat plastic tubs. At present, Tesco offer four flavours: Chocolatino, Creamy Caramella, Cherrylicious and Vanilleta.
We bought the Creamy Caramella to sample. The ice cream normally retails at £1.77 per tub, but today Tesco had an offer to buy 2 tubs for £3 ? at a price like that, I was hardly going to walk past, and not pick a couple of tubs up to bring home! Compare the price of these with a 1 litre tub of Carte D?or, which retail at £2.57, and it is evident how much cheaper these...

Tesco Frozen Beef Lasagne: It's a lasagne with beef in it!
Advantages: Great taste, lots of cheese, not overloaded with meat.
Disadvantages: None.
...As I am no longer living somewhere permanently I am staying with my sister and like to keep some meals in her freezer ready for whenever I pop home for a night or two to save me worrying about cooking for hours and to save her worrying about food going bad in the fridge. I buy the Tesco ready meals fairly regular and these are a long term price offer. Either £1.00-£1.20 each or 5 for £4.00 and this is just a fantastic price and I probably buy five different meals once a month or so.
I grab this box from the fresher and once I get through the cardboard (no perforated edge on this!) I am met with a black plastic tray with clear film and 'meat lasagne' on the top in black print so at least they've got some sort of measure to ensure the meat & vegetarian ones don't get mixed up! To cook this in the oven (45 minutes from frozen) I just stab...

Summertime ice cream
Advantages: Chocolate and ice cream
Disadvantages: None
...Summer summer summertime and that only means one thing, ice cream! I love it when it's hot outside as i now have a good excuse to eat ice cream, as if you really need an excuse, but anyway.
One of my favourite ways to eat ice cream is in bar form and in my opinion one of the best ranges around is the range from Magnum! Magnum is an ice cream brand is owned by the British/Dutch Unilever company. They have quite a lot of different flavours that they produce now, including the ones that they have released the last couple of years such as Mayan Mystica, Ecuador Dark and Colombia aroma but I have to say that my favourite is actually the original version, now known as the Magnum classic.
The Magnum Classic first came out in 1989 and was just called Magnum but was later rebranded. It can be likened to a choc ice, ie vanilla ice cream covered...

Yummy Mars Ice Cream
Advantages: Taste great, good value for money.
Disadvantages: None
...bite it there is just enough ice cream and caramel and the two flavors blend well making them very tasty and enjoyable to eat. The cardboard box they come in is quite thin in width and of a reasonably small length considering that there is four bars inside it. This makes it handy in that they will most likely fit in your fridge even if there is a lot inside it,
I think these are great for any time of the year, even though ice cream is usually most popular in summer time. I prefer these to ice lolly's in my opinion they are nicer and they are sort of a perfect balance in-between chocolate and ice cream. They cost my mum just £1 on offer in Tesco. I think its great that they are also free of artificial colours and flavours and the real diary ice cream they use tastes really nice. In my opinion its nicer than a lot of the alternative ice...

Chewy ice cream!!
Advantages: Yummy sweet ice cream taste, Good value
Disadvantages: Has quite a lot of sugar, Hard to get hold of
...***CHEWITS***
Chewits are yummy chewy sweets available in a range of different flavours and different sized packs. You can buy these in single stick packs which come in flavours such as Blackcurrant, Fruit Salad, Orange and Strawberry. You can also buy these in packs of 5 which are available in mixed fruit and citrus flavours. Also according to their website they also sell sour flavoured Chewits in apple and tutti-fruity flavour.
***ICE CREAM CHEWITS***
I bought this 5 pack of Chewits in WHSmith for a bargain price of 69p which were labelled half price. I haven?t seen the ice cream Chewits around for years and they were my favourite flavour as a child, so I just had to have a pack of these. These come in light cream plastic packaging with the look of an ice cream on the front as the bottom half of the packet is coloured and looks...

A diabetic ice cream that tastes brilliant!
Advantages: Tastes glorious, not too expensive
Disadvantages: None for me I love this
...I will start by saying that, although I am a diabetic, I rarely buy ?diabetic? products as I know from the research done by Diabetes UK that they are generally not worth the money. It is usually better to eat the ?ordinary? equivalent but in moderation. In fact if you eat some diabetic products such as chocolate the sweeteners used in them can have a quite severe laxative effect as I have discovered to my cost!
It is much better to eat a generally low fat, low sugar diet with an occasional treat.
I have, however, tried vanilla ice cream that has been specially made for diabetics on a couple of occasions and found it to be white, watery, tasteless stuff so when I saw Franks Diabetic Ice Cream in the freezer at Tesco?s I was in two minds whether to even bother trying it to be honest. Anyway Dave suggested that it might be worth a go...

Baskin Robbins Ice Cream
Advantages: Tasty, variety of flavours, not sickly, range of milkshakes, provide lighter options, can take home
Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to find, Unhealthy, Price
...almonds, whipped cream and three cherries.

Milkshakes
~~~~~~~~~
One of my favourite things at Baskin Robbins is the shakes they do. I absolutely love milkshakes, especially home made ones with ice cream. Baskin Robbins will create any milkshake with their ice creams that you want. You can combine two or more flavours as well. My favourite is cookies and cream ice cream milkshake. It is so delicious; it is really creamy, thick and divine. My boyfriends favourite is mint chocolate chip ice cream shake, which when made into a milkshake makes a delicious treat. You can get these in three different sizes, small, medium or large.
Perfect Pistachio Ice Cream
Advantages: Tastes absolutely wonderful
Disadvantages: Have to have an ice cream maker
...I just love ice cream it's just one of those things that is easily eaten and quite refreshing. Even at this time of year I can eat ice cream! Cold yes but lovely and sweet. I'm a fan of most flavours except vanilla. Fortunately my craving paid off and I bought myself an ice cream maker! Oh the joy! Yes the novelty has eventually worn off but it's still used regularly to make ice cream and it is thoroughly enjoyed by all the family.
The recipe is an Italian recipe (what else!) and is absolutely lovely! Gelato simply means frozen in Italian. The art of making the Italian frozen dessert extends beyond the literal meaning of the word. Gelato has become a generic Italian word for ice cream, though true gelato contains no cream. The same word is commonly used in English speaking countries to refer to "ice cream" that is prepared in...
