Australian Red Wine (Tesco's)

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Not really what you would serve to impress at a posh dinner party

...I never used to be a red wine drinker, I would have said in the past if someone had offered me a glass "no thanks". But within the past few years I have changed my mind a lot and now do enjoy red wine. THE PRODUCT: Australian Red Wine (south eastern Australia) Selected by Tesco 75 cl 13.0% vol medium and fruity cost: £2.08 Allergy advice: Contains Sulphites Availability: every Tesco supermarket I have been in MY EXPERIENCE: I first bought a bottle of this wine when we were having a barbeque in the summer, I wasn't sure what it was or what it would be like as with most people when buying for a party you tend to just buy a few bottles of a lot of things. I decided however after a few strange glances from my partner that maybe I should try this wine before forcing it on our guests. The first thing I notice was it didn...

Tesco Finest Profiteroles.

Advantages: Cold flaky chaux pastry, cold creamy smooth cream, delicious creamy yet sweet chocolate.
Disadvantages: Addictive and calorie-ridden.

...If you have read my reviews before you will probably have relized i like most food, espescially sweet things and desserts. In tescos today, i wandered off by myself as i was bored, and my mum said if i saw anything bring it back and put it in the trolley, i automatically wandered off to the pick and mix, and after stuffing a bag full of £5 worth of chewy and chocolaty sweets i decided to wander back to my mum, obviously taking the route that takes me past the mouth watering desserts aisle. I wasn't planning on having a look, after all our trolley was already stuffed full of chocolaty, toffee and all kinds of desserts and items from the bakery, but something caught my eye.. TESCO FINEST PROFITEROLE DESSERT. The dessert was in a plastic container with a tesco finest label wrapped around. It looked quite yummy sitting there...

Austrailian Red wine selected by Tesco worth a try

Advantages: Smooth
Disadvantages: none that I can think of

...Austrailian Red Wine, South Eastern Austrailia selected by Tesco. I am no connoisseur at describing wine, but I could recommend this one. My wife does not even like red wine, but even she found this one pleasant. It is as it says on the bottle "A SMOOTH, MEDIUM-BODIED RED WITH BERRY FRUIT FLAVOURS". Though perhaps being pregnant made my wife normally a non red drinker tollerate this bottle and enjoy it to some extent, and I found it nice enough to ask her to buy it again from Tesco again and I enjoyed it the second time just as much as I did the first time. Describing any kind of flavour is a difficult task for me, but with some kind of wines especially red it is easier to describe what you don't like about them, rather than what you do. The main two failings I find with quite a few red wines is some you could describe as being...

Tesco Australian Red Wine

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not something to serve at a party until everyone's drunk!

...Let's face it, you're buying this for £3.00 a bottle. However, MUCH better than some of the chemical crap (e.g. Cape Crossing Cabernet Sauvignon - chemical crap) that some producers pass off as wine in the same price band. It's somewhat acidic with very little body - but who cares at this price? It DOESN'T taste of chemicals and plastic. Better than most cheap table wines, can't go wrong with this - but make sure your guests have had a bit of the good stuff and are a bit pissed before you get the cheap one out. If you want better for your buck do a wine run to France and buy there - but not cheap French wine, it sucks (and they only sell it to stupid Brits like us!)....

Desserts for everybodys tastes

Advantages: Yummy
Disadvantages: Probs laden with calories

...Take a look at my username. Looked? Good. Well then, my user name may give a slight insight into my personality, yes, I have a very very sweet tooth. If you have read any of my other reviews, you will realise they are on mostly food products, but after a full weekend of baking last weekend I thought i'd share some of my favourite recipes with you. Now, when I go to a dinner party, to somebodys house for tea, or out for my tea, the dessert is always the thing I remember- usually, if it's good. My family is big on puddings and desserts and our household has one almost every night. In my review i'm going to tell you some of my favourite recipes (tried and tested) and try to include some tips and hints on how to make your dessert turn out the best it can. Now there are so many puddings to choose from aren't there, theres chocolate...

DECADENT DESSERTS.

Advantages: Yummy!
Disadvantages: Loads of calories!

...teaspoon Worcester sauce Dash of Tabasco sauce Salt and pepper 1 egg white ~~~Method Place all the ingredients except the egg white in a blender or processor and liquidise - or sieve the tomatoes and whisk well. Pour into a shallow tray and freeze until slushy. Return to the blender and blend until smooth or whisk vigorously. Beat the egg white until stiff and fold into the tomato mixture. Return to the freezer and freeze until solid. Whisky Syllabub~~~ Some people might think that it is terrible to waste a whisky on a dessert, but this IS really nice and well worth trying! ~~~Ingredients 75g sultanas 4 tablespoons ginger wine Grated rind and juice of 1 large orange 3 tablespoons malt whisky (I know it may seem like a waste, but a good malt will be better for the taste) 75g Dark Muscovado sugar 600ml...

Diamond review  A DIFFERENT KIND OF DESSERT!

Advantages: Delicious, some interesting chocolates, very different
Disadvantages: Expensive, some not so nice

...the shop and bought a box myself. I?m not overly keen on chocolates which are mixed with things such as fruits so I doubted very much that I?d be keen on the Dessert Collection. However, after baby sitting for my three little cousins, my auntie kindly gave us a bottle of wine (for my mum?of course), and a lovely box of Thorntons Chocolates. Mum and I were fairly doubtful when we realised what the Thorntons chocolates were, but decided there was no point in putting them too waste, and the next evening we decided to try them out. Obviously, these aren?t a box of chocolates you are going to buy while out for a quick chocolate fix. In fact, I think they?d be most suited to a more formal occasion such as a dinner party or a special present. They?d be just perfect to give as say, an after dinner treat with a coffee and I?m sure that the guests would...

Delicious Desserts

Advantages: Delicious, easy to make
Disadvantages: Fattening

...I love Desserts, so I thought I would share a few of my favourite one's with everyone. Hope you like them! CHOCOLATE AND WALNUT FUDGE The ingredients you will need to make this are as follows:- 175g/6oz plain chocolate, broken in to squares. 200g/7oz carton cream cheese. 1 tsp vanilla essence. 450g/1lb icing sugar 75g/3oz chopped walnuts. First of all line a square tin with non stick baking paper. Put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan and barely simmering water. Stir until the chocolate is melted and remove from heat and cool slightly. You then put the cream cheese in a bowl and beat with a whisk. I find an electric whisk is better and easier to do this. Whisk until the cream cheese is soft and creamy. Add vanilla essence and gradually add icing sugar, whilst beating until smooth. Beat the cooled...

Delectable Desserts

Advantages: Our favourites
Disadvantages: They might not appeal to you!

...My favourite course of a meal has always been dessert. When I lived at home, my Mum tended to concentrate on old favourites, such as Bakewell Tart, Crumbles, and steamed puddings, together with the mandatory trifle on a Sunday for tea! Since I have had children of my own, I have experimented more and more with desserts and we always like to try out new recipes. Of course we?ve had the odd disaster, who hasn?t?..but here are a few of our favourites. The first is a very easy mousse. The fruit in this can be adapted to suite your taste, but out favourite is raspberry. RASPBERRY MOUSSE ***************** 15oz of either canned or fresh raspberries 1 raspberry jelly 1 sachet Birds Dream Topping 4fl oz milk 2 egg whites Sponge fingers or chocolate curls to decorate If using tinned raspberries, drain them from their syrup...

Superb tasting Desserts.

Advantages: Amazing Taste!!
Disadvantages: N/A

...Ok here are some of the best low fat deserts I have ever tasted. I defiantly think you will enjoy these. For me a dessert has to be sweet tasting and refreshing so most of the desserts contain fruit with a bit of added extra. Ok I will start with (Poached Pears With Blackberries) this one is one of my favorites I will give this one 10/10. It?s like an apple juice and Greek yogurt sauce very nice. This also goes very nicely with a glass of red wine (Jacob?s Creek, Shiraz) that is my recommendation red wine very nice. Available at most super markets around 5 pounds. ------------------------------------------------------ Poached Pears With blackberries (Serves 4) ------------------------------------------------------ It will take approximately 40 minutes to cook. This is what you will need: 1) 4 medium pears 2) Zest of 1...
