Working for Tesco
Advantages: Good pay, great benefits package
Disadvantages: Crap uniform, crap managers
...Ok, first of all, I'd just like to mention, this is a looooooooooooong review, so if you're not actually interested in reading about Tesco as an employer, then I'd suggest you don't bother as it will take some patience to get through!
When I left school at the age of 18, and having decided I couldn't be bothered with university, I suddenly had to face the big bad world and go and find myself a job. I wasn't really fussy about what job I did - I've never been ambitious, and simply wanted a job where I could go to work, do my job, come home and not have to think about it.
As our local Tesco is just 5 minutes away, I decided to apply there. I wrote a letter requesting an application form, and a few days later received a lovely letter and the form I had asked for. I read through the form and thought, wow, I don't know how to answer...

Tesco trains
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: As good as original brands
...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages, sign and mountains all for £24...

Tescos
Advantages: Great Value
Disadvantages: Puts local businesses under stress
...Tescos is King of all supermarkets and I think that they are best for value in the long term or in the big shop as well. As a student I have found that the tesco down the road from me is my new home, as opposed to the Centre up the road that can be so expensive some times in comparison.
Tescos sells your average grocerys as well as dvd's and electricals, clothes, office supplies, tobacco and confectionary, alcohol, cards for special occassions and toys. Everything you need seems to almost be in one store, there is also a tesco value line that provides Tescos own products at a cheaper price.
The staff in Tescos are always friendly where I come from in Cookstown, they always help you find something if your not quite sure where it is and always strike up a pleasant conversation at the help desk, though I understand that some...

Tesco supermarket
Advantages: A wide variety of well priced goods
Disadvantages: Toilets maybe need cleaning a little more often
...Tesco plc over the years has become a household name.
A gentleman by the name of Jack Cohen who hailed from East London founded the company in 1919.
The Tesco brand first appeared in 1924,when Jack Cohen bought a shipment of tea from T.E.Stockwell..he combined the first three letters of the name (TES) along with the first tow letters of his own surname (CO ) and formed the word `Tesco`.
Tesco started life as a retailer of food and drink, but recent years have seen Tesco diversify into other areas such as clothing, consumer electronics, financial services,CD`s ,music downloads,Internet service, telecoms, health insurance, dental plans, software and DVD`s.
In 2008 Tesco became the World`s fourth largest retailer, with profits exceeding 2 billion pounds.
The Tesco company employ over 273,000 people.

TESCO
Advantages: Friendlly people, easy job
Disadvantages: pay,staff benefits
...Having worked for Tesco at some point I have an employee and also a customer's perspective.
I was employed when I was 16; it started off as part time work because I was at college. This suited me because my hours were convenient, the pay was good - above the minimum wage, overtime was available at the drop of a hat and it was a really easy job.
For a young person the training was a breeze - everything was easy to pick up and the local store where I worked had friendly older women to guide me through all the millions of questions I asked. (Best way to learn - asking all the questions under the sun)
I was initially trained on checkouts - the system was old but manageable and the main focus was being polite to your customer, offering to pack their bags, building rapport and of course SMILING.
TESCO do monthly checks on you...

PURFLO COT MATTRESS
Advantages: 100% WASHABLE; 100% BREATHABLE; 100% ANTI ALERGENIC; 100% SAFER THAN OTHER BABY MATTRESSES
Disadvantages: NONE
...My baby needed the safest mattress I could find - yet non of the mattresses I looked at offered me what I preceived as safe. Some were breathable, have you tried actually breating through them, very different from what I think is breathable. Anti alergy and dust mite repellant, no-one could convince me; hygeinic some were partly washable so some of the mattress would be clean; could I get a mattress with no chemical to make it fire retardant - no; could I use the mattress for my next baby and fell confident it was still OK - no I was told "new baby new mattress" why I asked, I found out the reason was that the mattresses over time build up all sorts of moulds and fungi as well as millions of house dust mites so I was ten expect to spend another £100 plus for my next baby.
That was until I found he PurFlo mattress! I can see it is...

Can't say enough good stuff about Healthbeds Memoryflex mattress!
Advantages: Absolute bliss to lie on
Disadvantages: Don't want to get up in the morning!
...We needed a new mattress. We had a pocket sprung turnable mattress that was a few years old, but I knew it was time for a change because I got up every day with back and shoulder ache. I wanted to try a memory foam mattress, because the springs just didn't seem comfortable for me, and I'd read great things about good quality memory foam.
Which? magazine has done a few tests on mattresses, and the Healthbeds Memoryflex has won it more than once. In face I contacted Healthbeds via their website, and they sent me a copy of the Which? report (well, you would wouldn't you?!) and that helped us take the plunge.
So once I'd found the double mattress via Quidco for £380, I thought it was worth a gamble - and it has been.
This is the comfiest mattress I've ever slept on, without doubt. I can sleep through the night now, and get up...

TESCO - Awesome Giant!
Advantages: Clubcard, Great Value, Large Stores some 24hr, Convenient, Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Company too Big, Taking over, putting small shops out of business
...>------------------------------<
TESCO STORES PLC
>------------------------------<
>---------------<
Introduction
>---------------<
Tesco is one of the worlds largest companies, with supermarkets ranging the world over and products now far in excess of food and drink. To some, Tesco is a company that is too big for its boots, too powerful, and too manipulative over local areas. To an extent I am inclined to agree with them. Small shops which have been trading for decades, overhauled by the introduction of a large Tesco to the area. However, I am a huge fan of Tesco not just because I have a large 24hr Tesco at the end of my road but also I am in favour of the huge range of products and services that Tesco provide and the jobs that it brings to the local area. Clearly this review has the potential to go on forever, but please...

tesco supermarket incentives give them a go
Advantages: pays rewards quickly & offers are quite generous - competitive selection of goods
Disadvantages: none to speak of really
...Tesco is the main supermarket brand in my area so when I moved here about 18mths ago I became a Tesco customer.
Along with instore incentives like the tesco clubcard £1=1 point they also offer exclusive deals online too for insurance such as home/car etc.
They often offer additional points to boost voucher values such as double points and I spent £6 on ink the other week and instead of 6 points I got 206 a bonus of 200 or £2 (this pushed my points upto 500 which meant I was sent a £5 voucher that could then be doubled up instore or online at Tesco direct to the value of £10.00, considering you are spending money on shopping and other goods anyway the points/vouchers are an added bonus as generally the prices at tesco are often fairly decent.
Tesco offer clubcard points and gift vouchers as incentives to purchase from store, so...

Tesco
Advantages: Good range, airy, knowledgable staff
Disadvantages: Traffic can be a nightmare
...Throughout Northern Ireland, Tesco seem to have embarked on a major expansion project. In my local area, 2 new stores have recently been open, Antrim & Ballymoney, replacing the old, falling apart stores that once resided in those towns.
Tesco is a relatively recent import to Northern Ireland, having bought over the Stewarts & Crazy Prices group of stores. Some old stores were closed, others revamped, and in some areas completely new stores were built such as the flagship stores in Knocknagoney, East Belfast and Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.
My closest Tesco store is the new Ballymoney store, so this is the one I have chosen to review.
It opened last weekend, after much publicity, both good and bad. It was feared that the building of the supermarket on that site would cause problems for the town, as it is built on what used to be...
