I saw saw !!

Disadvantages: Wife hid behind cushion for all of film ( is this a disadvantage?)
... SAW
(film only review)

Director: James Wan
Release Date: 1 October 2004

I am not usually one to watch horror films but when my eldest grandson came to stay he put this on for us wrinklies to watch with him.
STORY
Adam and Lawrence, both with shackles on their ankles, and a dead body in the middle of the room. Adam doesn't know Lawrence, or the dead body so his head is full of unanswerable questions.
Why is he here in this dirty room ?
Who is this Lawrence?
Why is that guy dead!, and who is he?
When Lawrence and Adam tell their stories, it turns out they have both been "kidnapped" and taken against their will to this room, and neither of them know how to get out.
When they find tapes in their pockets, and a tape player...

My Mad Saw
Advantages: Good saw for the money
Disadvantages: a bit dodgy to use. Feels like its gonna take my fingers off.
...The Power Devil range is good value for money in my opinion although I have had a problem with my circular saw.
I dont really like using it as its extremely dangerous in my opinion.
The reasoning behind this is the saw guard is made of a very flexible metal and can easily be bent out of shape. This happened on my saw and the blade is now exposed when you retract the guard before it is cutting.
Sometimes the guard is misaligned and makes contact with the blade and sparks do fly!
It is quite heavy for a small saw too. You really have to hang onto it to keep it under control. Not something for the novice to use and best not used unsupervised.
It does not follow lines too well either.
It tends to go off line far too easily. The guides are not very good and its hard to set up.
It comes with a very large toothed saw blade that is...

Saw the first of many
Advantages: : A great film, good effects!
Disadvantages: The story doesn't end!!!!
... Saw (film only review)
Details:
Director: James Wan
Release Date: 1 October 2004
Certification: 18 (UK)
Runtime: 103 mins
The first of 5 Saw films. Saw came out in 2004, and I don't think anybody knew just how big it was going to get. The problem with the Saw series, is that you have to have watched all of them to watch one of them, otherwise you can get very confused by what is happening! Also, at the end of each film you have to watch the next one to find otu what is going to happen! Annoying in a way, but also very clever by the film makers!
Plot:
When Adam wakes up in a dark and dingy room with Lawrence, both with shackles on their ankles, and a dead body in the middle of the room, his life comes crashing in around him. And his head is full of unanswerable questions, why is he here? Who...

Probably the only saw you'll ever need for that exakt job
Advantages: safe, easy to use and a must for all DIYers
Disadvantages: none at all
...I have been going through a few of my tools lately, reviewing a handful of them as I go, so I when I came across this particular tool I wanted to tell the world, or at least those who read on this site, all about it.
The tool in question is, in my opinion, a must for all DIYers, or even if you?re in the trade, and is one genius invention which has changed the world of sawing for ever. The name of this brilliant piece of equipment is in fact the JML ?Exakt? saw, and when they say ?Exakt? they really mean exact, as that is what it is.
This saw almost makes most other saws obsolete, giving a straighter cut than a jigsaw, a more precise cut than a circular saw and a quicker cut than the good old handsaw.
The ?Exakt? saw is designed to be safe and very very versatile, giving the user 4000 rpm of power which will cut through most...

Saw Point
Advantages: Good concept
Disadvantages: Bargain basement acting
...a checklist of available flourishes. Gimmicks aside, ?Saw? works as a competent serial killer flick, making the audience jump in all the right places.
Unfortunately the standard of acting doesn?t live up to the imaginative premise. The main problem is the casting and characterisation of the two leads. The thing is, neither Adam nor Dr Gordon are written to be likeable and the more we learn about them, the less likely we are to empathise with them. In fact I was rooting for their deaths. Though Leigh Whannell may have co-written the script, his lack of acting credentials is very apparent. For the majority of the film he doesn?t look as though he fears for his life. He eventually grows into the character of Adam, but by that time the film is almost over.
British-born Cary Elwes has made a career of playing bland good guys and toothless villains...

Its time2sing,its time2sing,2sing a powerful song!
Advantages: Great music
Disadvantages: Street credibility is not even on the cards!
...The Saw Doctors hail from Ireland and consist of:
Davy Carton; vocals and guitars
Leo Moran; guitars and vocals
Pearse Doherty; bass guitar, vocals and whistle (yes a whistle!)
John Donnelly; drums and vocals
This album also has Derek Murray on keyboards, accordion, guitar and banjo!
Also a variety of people playing instruments such as mandolin, hammond organ, synthesisers, accordion, saxophone and percussion! This should give you an idea that this music is real music with plenty of instruments - something a bit different to the norm!
The 17 songs on this album come from the Saw Doctors first three albums to be relased in the UK; If This Is Rock and Roll I Want My Old Job Back, All The Way From Tuam and Same Oul Town.

Working for Tesco
Advantages: Good pay, great benefits package
Disadvantages: Crap uniform, crap managers
...Ok, first of all, I'd just like to mention, this is a looooooooooooong review, so if you're not actually interested in reading about Tesco as an employer, then I'd suggest you don't bother as it will take some patience to get through!
When I left school at the age of 18, and having decided I couldn't be bothered with university, I suddenly had to face the big bad world and go and find myself a job. I wasn't really fussy about what job I did - I've never been ambitious, and simply wanted a job where I could go to work, do my job, come home and not have to think about it.
As our local Tesco is just 5 minutes away, I decided to apply there. I wrote a letter requesting an application form, and a few days later received a lovely letter and the form I had asked for. I read through the form and thought, wow, I don't know how to answer...

Tesco trains
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: As good as original brands
...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages, sign and mountains all for £24...

Tescos
Advantages: Great Value
Disadvantages: Puts local businesses under stress
...Tescos is King of all supermarkets and I think that they are best for value in the long term or in the big shop as well. As a student I have found that the tesco down the road from me is my new home, as opposed to the Centre up the road that can be so expensive some times in comparison.
Tescos sells your average grocerys as well as dvd's and electricals, clothes, office supplies, tobacco and confectionary, alcohol, cards for special occassions and toys. Everything you need seems to almost be in one store, there is also a tesco value line that provides Tescos own products at a cheaper price.
The staff in Tescos are always friendly where I come from in Cookstown, they always help you find something if your not quite sure where it is and always strike up a pleasant conversation at the help desk, though I understand that some...

I Saw Saw
Advantages: A novel idea, a few grusome scenes
Disadvantages: Poorly executed, resorts to cliches
...Every once in a while a small movie comes along that shakes up the genre. Saw is one of those movies, it generated a little word of mouth in the months before it?s release and was generally portrayed as a good movie with a decent premise.
You could call it the low budget version of Seven as it has a lot of comparisons to Fincher?s classic thriller. Two men awaken to find themselves in an old bathroom, each of them is chained to a pipe in opposite corners of the room. In the middle of the room lies a dead body. Both of the men can?t recall how they got there and both don?t know whom the other one is. Soon they are introduced to the warped mind of a killer known as Jigsaw. He is watching them at all times, each of them are given clues on how to escape but it would mean killing the other man. While this is going on we find out that...
