Tesco Devonshire Style Yoghurt
Advantages: Delicious creamy yoghurt
Disadvantages: Probably not the healthiest of yogurts
...Tesco Finest Devonshire Style Fudge Yogurt (150g)
As I found myself in Tesco?s again this week I thought I would take a look at their range of Finest Yogurts (especially as there was an offer on them). I bought a selection of different flavours, one of them being the Devonshire Style Fudge. The others were Wild Blueberry, Strawberry and Cream, Swiss Black Cherry. There were other choices but I can?t remember what they were. I actually bought two fudge ones, as it is a favourite of my teenage son. I hadn?t tried this one before, but he assured me it was delicious. Or, more precisely, he said it was ?good?, which is high praise from him! So, I decided to find out for myself - spoon at the ready!
Packaging
The yoghurt carton is an interesting oval shape and made of cardboard. At its largest points it is 6.5cm x 9cm x 6...

Devine-shire yoghurt?
Advantages: tasty
Disadvantages: unhealthy, pricey
...It was that time again when I set out to discover a new yoghurt. I didn't know quite what I fancied, but I didn't feel like something fruity. When I popped down to the local Tesco to browse their selection, one particular pot caught my eye.
The pot of the Devonshire Style Fudge yoghurt in the Tesco Finest range is not particularly colourful- its main colour is black with a little silver banner behind the text. It was however the pictures of the chunks of fudge that attracted me. They looked incredibly creamy and very soft. I simply had to buy it!
When I peeled back the lid of the deep pot, before I could even see if the yoghurt itself looked appealing, the aroma that drifted out was so sweet and divine that its appearance would not matter! Fortunately though, it still did look amazing, with a creamy fudge brown colour, not watery...

The Finest Fudge Yogurt in the land!
Advantages: Gorgeous, rich, creamy, delicious!
Disadvantages: Calories, price and sugar
...Review of Tesco Finest Devonshire Style Fudge Yogurt
Tesco introduced their 'Finest' range at around the same time as other supermarkets also produced superior own brand goods. This yogurt is part of the range and includes foods, drinks and other items.
My partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a couple of these yogurts on impulse and I felt that they are worthy of a review!
**The product**
Packaging, Taste, Texture and Appearance
A luxurious combination of yogurt and whipped cream, blended with pieces of chewy Devonshire style fudge.
The yogurt is presented in a recyclable cardboard oval pot with a foil peel off lid. The pot bears of picture of sumptuous looking fudge pieces against a deep turquoise background. The lower part of the pot is in silver with the product description and brief nutritional values...

...Tesco Finest Swiss Black Cherry Yogurt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About the Product.
Tesco PLC first introduced there finest range of products to 120 stores nation wide in February 1999. These were promoted on the basis that the products were made from on the finest of ingredients and only of the finest quality, making them that little bit extra special to other normal and better know brands. The product I am reviewing is the Tesco Finest Swiss Black Cherry Yogurt, but the Finest Yogurt range also comes in Hazelnut, Champagne Rhubarb, Scottish Raspberry, Strawberry and Cream, Wild Blueberry, Swiss Black Cherry and Devonshire Fudge Varieties.
Cheap and cheerful yogurt from Tesco
Advantages: Cheap, creamy, tasty, low fat... and did I say, cheap?
Disadvantages: Not as low fat as it could be, a bit heavy on the nuts for my liking
...The last time I was in Tesco, I thought I'd give their low fat yogurts a try. I like to think of myself as an ethical consumer, so I avoid many products - either because they are owned by massive (read evil!) corporations, or because I am against animal testing, so would never consider buying from a manufacturer who also manufactures products that have been tested on animals. This, naturally, restricts my choice in the supermarkets, so it's always nice to try something new.
I was first attracted by the brightness of the containers. For a supermarket's own brand, they don't look cheap at all and are very eye-catching. They come in stumpy little blue cardboard pots, with a clear picture of some hazelnuts on the front so you know what you're getting quickly. This is useful, as the pots seem more interested in displaying the Tesco logo...
nutty brazil nut low fat yogurt
Advantages: low fat and full of nuts
Disadvantages: strange taste
...Review of Tesco incredibly nutty Brazil nut low fat yogurt
Setting the scene:
I was very excited when I saw this (I think) new flavour yogurt at Tesco last week as I love hazelnut yogurts and thought these would be similar but make a nice change.
I purchased 3 and they were about 42p each from memory.
Packaging:
They come in a cardboard tub but quite a chunky tall shaped tub with a plastic pull off lid. The lid comes off very easily - no tugging needed at all, it just sort of slips off as you pull up.
Nutritional Information:
Each pot contains 150 g
On the front in the colour coded boxes is this information:
170 calories 9% daily allowance
22.8g sugar 25% daily allowance
4.1g fat 6% daily allowance
1.2g saturates 6% daily allowance
0.2g salt 3% daily allowance
Low Fat, Low Price, In Fact Reasonable Value from Tesco
Advantages: A low fat and low price yoghurt
Disadvantages: High in sugar
...I enjoy just having one flavour to contend with in my pot of yoghurt, although there are some glorious mixed flavours on the market sometimes it is good to just have one specific taste to enjoy.
Admittedly I love to try all of the new and exciting flavours that are introduced to us more often than not by the leading brand names. But these pots of yoghurt deserve to be lingered over, they need more attention than the run of the mill plain flavours and I certainly wouldn't pour them over the top of my bowl of Weetabix.
A while ago I took to buying the large pots of yoghurt from Lidl, all well and good and very cost effective but I had to eat the same flavour of yoghurt for a few days so it got a bit tedious.
I wanted some bulky shopping and decided to do an online order for Tesco, I found a voucher code on the Hot Deals site for free...
Finest Black Cherry Yoghurt
Advantages: Great taste
Disadvantages: Quite sweet
...Tesco Finest Black Cherry Yogurt (150g)
As I usually have yoghurt every day, I thought a yoghurt review would make a change from reviewing chocolate this week. You can have too much of a good thing ?.. Well, no, perhaps not as far as chocolate is concerned, that is an exception to the rule. Anyway, as I found myself in Tesco's this week I thought I would take a look at their range of Finest Yogurts (especially as there was an offer on them). I bought four flavours - Champagne Rhubarb, Swiss Black Cherry, Devonshire Style Fudge and Hazelnut. I've decided to share with you my opinions on the Swiss Black Cherry one, mainly because other members of the family devoured the other ones! There are several other flavours in the range including Malaysian Coconut, Brazilian Coffee and Rum & Raisin.
cherries set in yoghurt
Advantages: tasty
Disadvantages: none
...I decided I wanted a change from the cheap value tesco yoghurts I usually take to school for my lunch so saw the Tesco French set yoghurt these cost 98p for 6 125g pots so these are good value too.
The yoghurt that I ate yesterday was Cherry flavored French set yoghurt.
Sat in the staff room away from the noise of the pupils I finished my sandwich then I reached into my lunch bag. I pulled out cherry yoghurt packaged in a plastic pot with an orangey label on it. Writing and a picture of a cherry on the wrapper confirmed that this was cherry yoghurt.
I peeled back the foil lid, it smelt lightly of cherries. It was a light red colour , had a small amount of what looked like clear oil on top of it, I guess some ingredients had begun to separate . I dug my soon in the yoghurt was a firm liquid spoonful. I tasted my first...
