More than just a calculator
Review of Texas Instruments TI Voyage 200 by
Silverblue85
Advantages: good handbook, huge RAM and ROM
Disadvantages: pricey
...As I'm studying Computer Science / Computer Engineering, I (unfortunately) have to deal with Maths on a nearly daily basis. We are not allowed to use any calculators in the four Maths exams (neither in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Hardware Engineering…) but for home use I wanted to buy myself a calculator to a) control my results (nothing is more annoying than calculating and calculating over several pages and then having to find out that there's a mistake in first few lines) and to b) get a result quickly when I don't have my laptop with my beloved math software around.
After some thinking I decided to get the Texas Instrument (TI) Voyage 200 as I've always been very happy with my TI calculators in the past.

BA II+ PRO, the calculator for the Pro.
Review of Texas Instruments BA II+ PRO by
85jt11
Advantages: Sleek design, reliable, Time Value of Money keys
Disadvantages: Could do with a larger screen
...to recall them when needed in future equations.
It must also be noted that the manual that it comes with is more of a book! It is fairly thorough and useful in that it provides all the information needed to operate the calculator along with examples of sums and equations that may be encountered by mathematicians/financial analysts.
It costs roughly £30, in the same ball park as some BA II Plus, so its well worth the upgrade!...

Financial Advice for all your life
Review of Member Advice on Independent Financial Advisers by
Collingwood21
Advantages: Save money, be better off
Disadvantages: It takes time and effort on your part to do so
...am not going to go into huge detail here as I have already written a review in the pensions category - but if you want a copy of the government's guide to pension options (which is pretty clear and sets everything out for you in one place), then go to:
http://www.pensionguide.gov.uk/
While I am on the subject of getting older, there is also inheritence tax to mention - the Institute of Financial Advisors estimate that £1.1billion too much of it is paid in the UK every year. The basis of this tax is that if you die leaving an estate worth more than £242,000 then a massive 40% of that will go to Gordon Brown rather than your nearest and dearest. (Donations to charity and your funeral expenses are deducted before the final amount of your estate is calculated - and if you are below the threshold level, then you will pay no inheritence...

Cool Calculations in Chemistry!
Review of Calculations in AS/A Level Chemistry - Jim Clark by
bluejules
Advantages: Very useful, lots of practice questions
Disadvantages: Only in black and white, expensive
...-level course and contains all the information on the types of questions based around calculations. I have looked all over the book and I can't find which specification it is for so I assume the calculations in A-Level chemistry are pretty universal over all the major exams boards. (I am with AQA and the majority of the book is relevant for me.)
The book is split into 11 chapters - from chapters containing basic formulae to chapters with more difficult aspects of chemistry. Each chapter has information about calculations including worked examples complete with model answers. This gives information about when you would use these calculations in chemistry as well as showing you how they are done before giving some problems for you to try. There are answers and some worked solutions at the back of the book, which help you check your progress...

Worth Travelling to Texas to see Texas
Review of Texas - Greatest Hits Tour. by
chrissiepops
Advantages: see opinion
Disadvantages: NONE
...You don't have to be a mega fan to enjoy Texas' music just good taste. Texas started out back in 1989 with " I don't want a lover" which was a soft rock ballad, with a touch of the good old guitar work. Having just started out in the pop world could they see themselves lasting? Have they got the gift to last out 12 years? Well the answer was and is YES to both of these questions, without a doubt.
I spent 4 hours on Tuesday evening standing at more or less at the front of a packed stadium, about 10 foot away from the front of the stage. With tired aching feet and adrenaline pumping though my body, I eagerly awaited the performance from Texas. Let me tell you, it was worth every aching moment and although I'm only 5 ft 2 in tall, I had a brilliant view.
We went to see Texas at Sheffield Arena while a friend of mine baby sat my two...

The atractions of Texas
Review of General: Texas by
Michisor
Advantages: Sunshine year round, beautiful beaches, rich heritage, friendly people
Disadvantages: In the summer it very warm, long distances
...Texas is a huge State in USA, even for us citizens, it is hard to plan a vacation of 1 or 2 weeks because there are so many sites and beautiful natural places to visit.
Texas is rich in natural beauty (lakes, beaches, caves, mountains), oil, and history, and an incredible heritage of so many nations.
I will say Texas is the history richest states in USA, just look at the historic eras I enumerate below:
Texas under Spain: 1510 - 1665; 1690 - 1821
Texas under France: 1685 - 1690
Texas under Mexico: 1821 - 1836
Texas as a Republic: 1836 - 1845
Texas in Confederacy: 1861 - 1865
Texas in USA: 1845 - 1861, 1865 till now
What I love about Texas is the Texan spirit, the fight, the pride, the accomplishments, the patriotism, de natural resources, the beautiful wildness, and there contribution to USA heritage which is huge...

A Vacation In Texas
Review of General: Texas by
Isobel_Princess
Advantages: Heat, shopping, lots of things to do
Disadvantages: None major, apart from the 8% tax, when shopping
...*~* I love Texas. It has it all - Shopping, culture, heat, and beaches. This makes it a great place for everyone, especially families.
Ive been twice, once last year, and once this year. This has given me time to explore what i could of this massive state.
First time, i went to Houston, San Antonio, Galveston, Austin and a few other places. We decided we liked texas, and especially Galveston so much, that we returned this year, for a week in Galveston and one week further down south - Rockport, near Corpus Christi.
There is a lot to do in Texas, as its such a big state, its difficult to generalise. Of course, there are beaches, and shopping too just about everywhere. *~**~* But, here are some highlights of the state - *~***~~
~~~San Antonio - This is a lovely city. i reccomend the river walk, which is little shops...
Happy Texas! An Elightening View on Texans
Review of Happy Texas (Wide Screen) by
Rob664
Advantages: highly amusing, slightly stupid
Disadvantages: its always on so late at night
...Two minutes into Happy, Texas, one convict clouts another over the head with a dead armadillo. What more could you want, its a classic comedy moment.
The story
Chain-gang runaways Wayne and Harry decide to hide out in a small Texas town Happy. On arrival, they're mistaken for notorious a notorius gay couple who specialise in hosting junior Miss America-style beauty pageants. Not wanting to arouse the suspicion of the local sheriff, the pair unhappily pose as lovers and take over the contest, hoping to hang around long enough to rob the town bank and a clean getaway...
Other reviews of the film I have read have hinted about the serious aspect of the film. How the clash of cultures and the effect on a backwoods world as it opens up under the influence of the strangers. They talk about the suppressed homosexual tendencies and wierd...
Start to Fight for financial freedom
Review of Rich Dad, Poor Dad 2: Cash Flow Quadrant - Rich Dad's Guide to Financial Freedom (Rich Dad) - Robert T. Kiyosaki by
sunweohn
Advantages: new idea & simple use of language so easy to understand
Disadvantages: need to consider other points of view to balance the author's idea
...I have got so many new ideas and opinions by reading this book. I realised the importance financial education for people in one's life. Everyone is seeking for security because of his or her fear. We work due to our financial worries. So I think to be a financially independent person is very important. The author reminds his author about the importance of financial freedom and also shows the ways how to become financially independence. In my opinion, this book is interesting and useful to seek financial freedom.
The author also reminds the readers to mind our own businesses rather than other people (boss)'s business. For example, being an employee, working for other people for 40 hours a week and 8 hours a day and expecting monthly salary at the end of the month. When the money comes, people pays bills such as rent or mortgage...
