TI-83 Great Calculator
Advantages: Easy to use and very powerfull
Disadvantages: Can't intigrate or differentiate
...I've been using this calculator for the last six years now and it is my favorite model of all Texas instrument calculators.
Capabilities:
This model is capable of Trig, statistics, multifunction graphing and there are a ton of online programs that can be downloaded to assist in higher level math. In addition literally hundreds of games have been made specifically for the TI-83 model. Functions, Parametric equations, Polar equations, and Sequences can all be graphed using this model. You can also create new executable programs either on the calculator itself or on a computer. The calculator comes with a usb transfer cord so anything created or found via the computer can be easily transferred to the device.
Layout:
Everything in the TI-83 starts at the home screen, which is blank ready for input of instructions. The 83 does lack...

More than just a calculator
Advantages: good handbook, huge RAM and ROM
Disadvantages: pricey
...As I'm studying Computer Science / Computer Engineering, I (unfortunately) have to deal with Maths on a nearly daily basis. We are not allowed to use any calculators in the four Maths exams (neither in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Hardware Engineering?) but for home use I wanted to buy myself a calculator to a) control my results (nothing is more annoying than calculating and calculating over several pages and then having to find out that there's a mistake in first few lines) and to b) get a result quickly when I don't have my laptop with my beloved math software around.
After some thinking I decided to get the Texas Instrument (TI) Voyage 200 as I've always been very happy with my TI calculators in the past.

Southside-Texas
Advantages: Tuneful, classic pop-rock,best of the 90s.Lyrically,musically and vocally chairming and catchy
Disadvantages: If you dont like pop/rock then you might not enjoy this blast from the past.
...Right so today I am really on one with bands/albums ranging from the mid 80s to the late 90s and seeing as I am, what sort of reviewer would I be if I didn't at least give a quick mention to Texas?
Southside by Texas is one of their most acclaimed albums. Released in 1995 with timeless classics like 'I dont want a lover', the album still rings true with audiences today.
Although they have taken their name from an american state, they are essentially a Scottish pop/rock band. Their music does seem to adopt some of the texan stealy guitar sound and although singer and rhythm guiatris Sharleen Spiter has a lovely Scottish accent, she sings with an american accent (which is a shame but common of the era).
This album has some really great pop songs, I dont Want a Lover being one of many. The overal quality of the vocals is really...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Advantages: Ed Gein Documentary DVD extra
Disadvantages: Only moderately scarry
...So Hallowe'en night, the obligatory somewhat pathetic partying has ended it's about 1o'clock in the morning so decide to put this on and live the Hallowe'en atmosphere.
THE STORY
It's 1973 and the film starts with a filmed walk through of the crime scene of the Chainsaw Massacre and before it can really get started we are thrown towards the past and 5 young people coming back from partying in Mexico to go see a Lynrd Skynrd concert somewhere in Texas, when suddenly they meet a young female hitch hiker who keeps crying and is more than abit erratic. They pick her up and start driving in the direction she came from which made little sense to me but hey. She starts screaming your going the wrong way (why did they pick her up if they weren't going to go her way? Why?). She then gets over excited pulls a gun from the heer groin...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Advantages: Scary from the beginning
Disadvantages: The cute guy dies!
...The Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows a group of teenagers taking a road trip through Texas in the 70's. However, when they come across a young woman walking along a deserted road and pick her up, they soon realise something is wrong with her. Not long after, she shoots herself, leaving the group scared and confused to say the least, but little do they realise, their ordeal has only just begun.
Coming across an isolated house seeking help, the group think they have found help, but they have actually just walked into a massacre scene. One by one, the youths suffer horrendous deaths in this gruesome remake of the classic horror movie that was origionally banned from cinema in the 70s.
I absolutely loved this film, it was a true horror story that was well acted by a young cast. This film had some of the most brutal death scenes i have...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Advantages: Visually impressive.
Disadvantages: Not scary, gory for the sake of it, dull characters.
...Tim Burton has a lot to answer for. Even since his poor, but finanically successful "re-imagining" of Planet Of The Apes, it seems Hollywood is falling over itself to produce as many "new" films using the names of classic ones, but little else. Few of these films have much in common with the original films, aside from an ability to trade off of an already established name. Unfortunately, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is little different.
I suppose I should point out that I'm not particularly a fan of the original film, so this is a hardly going to be a "they changed all these things and ruined it" type rant. The overwhealming feeling I felt through the film was one of sheer boredom. There was absolutely nothing within the film that I hadn't seen elsewhere. The film plays as some mutated hybrid of the original Massacre film...

The TASTE of TEXAS in a TUBE
Advantages: Tasty and ideal for sharing and dipping.
Disadvantages: Filling and many calories so not the healthiest snack you could buy.
...Pringles come in many great flavours such as Sour Cream and Onion, Prawn Cocktail and my personal fave Salt and Vinegar. They are also a snack that is instantly recognisble because of the unique tube that they are sold in. One of the flavours I hadn't tried was Texas BBQ Sauce but seeing that they were getting alot of attention on this site I decided to write a review. I bought a tube yesterday from Iceland for £1 and here are my thoughts.
Pringles Texas BBQ Sauce are Tastes Of The World Pringles but I could not find a pack which looks like the ones that are used in the Ciao photograph. My tube had a picture of a large skewer with onions, tomatoes and mushroms on them. Clearly these were the vital ingredients of Pringles Texas BBQ Sauce!
I opened the tube and was impressed. Unlike many crisps Pringles are well protected...

Live in Texas
Advantages: A CD/DVD package that will please most fans for £9.99
Disadvantages: So much more could (should?) have been done with the DVD...
...People?s opinions of Linkin Park are bound to be divided. After Limp Bizkit opened nu-metal to a wider commercial market, Linkin Park were certainly one of the first bands to capitalise. Some see them as a sell out (boy band with nu-metal trappings), while others no doubt like them for much the same reason!
I think Hybrid Theory was a great debut album, setting Linkin Park ahead of their peers and deservedly selling bucket loads. My cynical side says they?re milking it a little though. Over six million sales of the long awaited follow-up Meteora, yet they?ve still felt the need for a remix album and now live CD/DVD package in that time? Still Live In Texas coincides with a UK tour and comes just in time for Christmas, so maybe it?s to be expected.
Life In Texas is technically a CD with bonus DVD I believe. It comes in a special 2CD...

Just as good as a trip to Texas!
Advantages: taste
Disadvantages: price
...OK, so I am working my way through the whole Pringles range in my reviews at the mo, and now I come to the texas bbq ones - definitely my first choice.
As I have said before, the flavours tend to be based on original old school crips flavours. Remember smokey bacon? In the pringle world it's called texas bbq sauce! This is a really nice flavour. You can actually see the flavouring on the crisp, as it is brown in colour. I find this quite satisfying, as you know for 100% sure that it's got lots on it.
The flavour has two distinct sides to it. To begin with, it has the bacony taste that we all know and love. Secondly, it has the 'smoked' taste, whereby you get that flavour and smell when eating smoked meat. Together it has a distinct BBQ feel to it. but is also nice and tangy. It's not as powerful as some flavours, such as salt...

The atractions of Texas
Advantages: Sunshine year round, beautiful beaches, rich heritage, friendly people
Disadvantages: In the summer it very warm, long distances
...Texas is a huge State in USA, even for us citizens, it is hard to plan a vacation of 1 or 2 weeks because there are so many sites and beautiful natural places to visit.
Texas is rich in natural beauty (lakes, beaches, caves, mountains), oil, and history, and an incredible heritage of so many nations.
I will say Texas is the history richest states in USA, just look at the historic eras I enumerate below:
Texas under Spain: 1510 - 1665; 1690 - 1821
Texas under France: 1685 - 1690
Texas under Mexico: 1821 - 1836
Texas as a Republic: 1836 - 1845
Texas in Confederacy: 1861 - 1865
Texas in USA: 1845 - 1861, 1865 till now
What I love about Texas is the Texan spirit, the fight, the pride, the accomplishments, the patriotism, de natural resources, the beautiful wildness, and there contribution to USA heritage which is huge.
It...
