bast laptop i ever had
Review of Toshiba Satellite P10-304 - P4 2.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
crimbocris
Advantages: Fast and powerfall machine
Disadvantages: the fan is not in a place so you can put it on your lap
...let me just say i love this machine
i run mine on xp pro and upgraded the memary to 512mb
and to be honist it will still compeat in power with a machine
sold today there is just one problem
the fan is placed on the bottom of the macine just where you leg would be if you put it on your lap and it can get quite hot
but for this machines raw speed you can forgive it
with its 2.6gb ht prosseser {yes HT} and gforce 5100 FX {pixal shader 2} grahics i got a 3dmark 2001 score of between 4800 to 5600 even thoth the grahics card has only 32mb it seem to run more like a dream of 128mb
i know you can get faster machines now but just to point out that this came out in 2004 you can see how powerfall this beast of a machice is and also the fact it it qute upgradable it used a socket 478 with a fsb of 800 {desktop ??} add more memary and you...

great working laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 5624WSMi - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
punker123
Advantages: fast, good memory
Disadvantages: portability
...The Acer Travelmate 5624WSMi has a massive 160gb hard drive making sure you can store all the data you need for all your multimedia needs.
this acer travelmate was designed specifically with the buisness porson in mind, who needs a super fast piece of equiptment, lots of storage and womthing easy to work with.
this had a Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a great 2gb of ram to make this laptop glide as smoothly as possible. the ram can also be upgraded to 4gb for those demanding users.
this laptop has a great 17\" TFT active matrix screen which gives you great imadges and sharp graphics due to its active matrix technology.
some good features of this acer are its 1.3 mega pixcel intergrated camera with 225 degree rotation to make sure your always in the picture. and also this laptop has a built in 5 in 1 card reader making transfrerring...

Fujifilm Finepix S5600 Review
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S5600 Zoom by
Danz0r
Advantages: Advanced Features, 10x Optical Zoom, Choice of modes, Battery life.
Disadvantages: Clunky Menu System
...Fuji, a brand well known around the world have created an exceptional camera with their S5600.
Being an Amateur photographer myself, I know the difficulty in finding a decently priced camera which has plenty of features, until this.
The S5600, Is an ideal camera for anyone wanting it for general use, or even for budding photographers. A wide range of features such as a great Macro mode, landscape, night, portrait, video, and many more offer you the chance to capture anything, at any time.
Another good thing is the ability to change advanced settings, although they are hidden amongst some large menu's, and can sometimes be a hassle to find.
The S5600's battery life is also first to none. With NiMh 1300 Rechargeable Batteries, my camera manages to last for atleast 250 photos before gracefully burning out. The zoom is also superior, 10x...

good reliable graphics card at an afordable price.
Review of Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/880 TV-DVI by
totalguy
Advantages: reliability
Disadvantages: none that i can think of
...I bought one of these after having an unreliable fx5600 card which was awfull soon as i got this card i wasnt too sure what to expect seen as my 5600 version was awfull i wasnt expecting too much.
To my suprise ive had this card about a month now and its really stable and reliable i can play any game (that i am aware of) with it on high quality and at a resolution of 1024X760, although if the game will do it i will go upto 1280X1024. no glitches no jumps just hours of reliable gameplay.
I play Games like need for speed underground, Toca Race driver 2, simpsons hit and run, flight simulator 2004, the command and conquer series etc.
Compared to my last card which sometimes crashed games and even the computer this one dosent do any of that it just keeps running 100% until you stop playing.
The advice i would give to people is to avoid...

Ace Acer
Review of Acer Aspire 1700 by
sam_puzzler
Advantages: quick, sleek and beautifully constructed screen
Disadvantages: not the smallest or lightest around due to 17" screen
...Force FX Go5600 graphics card is efficient and reliable (originally a slight concern given the modest 64MB of VRAM) and the 1024Mb of DDR ram has proven to be ample for anything I can throw at it. Also worth noting is the gigantic 120Gb of HDD capacity which I have been positively rattling around in thus far. Other hardware features such as 100Mbps LAN connection, 8x DVD + 24x CD-RW combo drive, 56k modem and FDD all perform with perfectly adequate speed and reliability and the integrated speakers and sub are a particularly nice and useful touch giving an excellent quality sound from the top to the bottom of the range.
The only other noteable piece of hardware is the glorious 17" TFT LCD screen. It is clear and bright, with a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 @ 75 Hz, however i find that 1280x1024 is just perfect for the screen. In my opinion...

Spend a little extra and go for the 5900xt!
Review of XFX GeForce FX 5600 by
Soadfan1
Advantages: Fairly cheap, Good for older games
Disadvantages: Not very good for todays games or even some of yesterdays
...No fancy titles here, just one statement thats straight to the point, you see I purchased the XFX 5600 with an understanding that it was a decent mid range performer that would replace my ti 4200, but what I found after was it was really more like the top end of a low range band of gpus.
First of all theres the attractive box, a 'sexy' X shape with some sort of robotic Lynx on the front symbolising raw power and speed, then theres the advertising on the back.
'EXTREME GAMING HEALTH WARNING'
people with high blood pressure, back, or heart problems should not use this card, the unmatched graphics quality may too to exhilarating and realistic. (We're just kidding it's all good, XFX products are safe.)'
Marketing at its most laughable since at the time the cards it was supposed to be replacing( the Geforce 4 ti 4200 and the ti 600...
