...First off what an easy to use laptop full of built in features for a very reasonable price ( £349.99 upwards) was £380 when i purchased mine but is worth every penny. Why people pay in excess of £500 for machines with a lower spec is beyond me. Acer have come a long way in providing great quality laptops at a lower price. on first run you follow the setup options and then it recommends you create a restore disc i did this using 2 blank dvd's with ease just following the on screen instructions. once this was complete i did the windows updates to get it fully upto date. The inbuilt wireless adapter (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter) connects so easy to my wireless network with a reasonable range even in the garden. Essentially, it will only work with Apple powermacs that were built over the past couple of years, as it uses Apple's proprietary connector, the Apple Display Connector. This has the advantage of sending power, digital image signal and USB over the one cable. However, you might be able to get a conversion box that would allow you to connect it to a DVI-out or a vga out, but the box might cost up to 300 pounds. ...The Di-Fusion 19" TFT monitor is a screen for the computer, just like the one you're staring at now. If you still have a CRT (TV sized monitors), then the one I'm reviewing is a flat version of that. CRT's are outdated and flat screens are fast becoming the standard. The Di-Fusion has a silver frame with black everywhere else. The screen is easy to set up and involves connecting the screen to the 'foot' so it can stand, connecting the VGA cable from the PC's graphics card to the monitor, power and sound cable to your PC (optional). I think the silver plastic looks a bit cheap but only if I look closely. Like most TFT monitors, you can physically adjust the angle of the screen by tilting it. ...I recently purchased a BenQ FP731 17inch TFT Monitor as my old CRT (The ones that look like TV's.) was getting long in the tooth. TFT as you may know it are the new type of monitors on the market (You may know them as LCD's). Thinner and with a better picture than your bulky old CRT's these seemed to be the way to go. TFT monitors if you didn't know are actually bigger than CRT's in terms of screen size (not by much though.) After looking at this I opted to buy it, With a response time of 25ms (The time it takes the monitor to refresh an image on the screen) it's about average for a TFT screen. You can get quicker TFT's but if you're like me and hardly play fast games you won't notice the difference if any at all.
