A Thrilling Review on TFT Screen Cleaner
Review of Storex TFT, LCD and PDA Screen Cleaning Tissues by
stuleg
Advantages: They do the job
Disadvantages: Too Small
...Are you ready for a thrilling review on a TFT screen cleaner? And not just any old TFT screen cleaner, what we have here is a pot of no less than one hundred TFT and LCD Screen cleaning tissues. Excited? I hope you are, because believe it or not this is exciting stuff. Having parted with well over three hundred pounds for a brand new Philips TFT monitor a couple of months ago I proceeded to make the screen smeary with the use of a common can of furniture polish, well it works on the TV why wouldn’t it work on the monitor? Well, it didn’t work, no matter how hard I polished and rubbed the smears would not disperse, Argh, it was like looking through a curtain!
Luckily, in the recesses of my mind I remember seeing a little display of TFT monitor accessories in PC World when I was buying the monitor, and I distinctly remember some sort...

Samsung 570s - an excellent LCD TFT monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 570 S by
AmK
Advantages: Compact, crystal clear, low radiation
Disadvantages: None
...The Samsung SyncMaster 570S is a fantastic 15" flat panel LCD TFT monitor. I purchased it as an upgrade from my 17" CRT.
My work and study involves me spending some hours each day sat in front of a computer. I was becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of radiation I must be exposed to using a CRT for extended periods. A CRT also generates a lot of unwanted heat and a good sized one such as my 17", takes up rather a lot of desk space too.
When the opportunity arose to acquire this Samsung TFT monitor at a very competitive price, I jumped at it!
The quality of this product is excellent and I am very impressed with it after some weeks of use. It is compact, taking up a fraction of the space of a CRT since it is only an inch thick. It is a low radiation, environmentally friendly device (TCO 99 certified) and also doesn...

Hansol H550 TFT LCD Monitor
Review of Hansol H550 by
halj001
Advantages: Slim, Handles fast moving Graphics Perfectly
Disadvantages: Does not have a Digital Connection Socket (DVI)
...I purchased my Hansol H550 TFT LCD Monitor back in September 2003 and paid around £220 for it. I have always used CRT based monitors before and now having experienced LCD monitors, I wouldn’t turn back.
The Hansol H550 in my experience has an excellent display, with a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 @ 75mhz. It has a 15” screen and because it is a TFT LCD Monitor you actually get to see the full 15” of screen, whereas on CRT based monitors you only usually get 13.2 – 13.8” viewable. Built into the monitor are two speakers, which are place directly under the screen in the bottom left and right hand corners. This monitor is available in 3 colours, mine being the standard PC white/cream with silver control panel. It is also available in Black or in Silver.
The control panel functions are easy to use, with Mute, Menu/Exit, Auto...

Best LCD/TFT 17" on market
Review of Iiyama C171WT by
KH206cc
Advantages: looks, style and class
Disadvantages: Not a big name
...Had a £100.00 voucher to spend at John Lewis, so just after Christmas in the January sales I went to The John Lewis Store at Bluewater.
Had a bit of a look about for 17" screens to 20" screeens. No particular make bothered me. Was keen on a 20" LG TFT but it was not compatable to PC only TV. So i stumbled apon this 171WT and it looked great and it was priced at £349.00 . It was in stock so i just collected it.
LESS ABOUT THE SITUATION KEV, AND MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:-
Product Spec.
Power req - DC12V/5.0A
LCD Panel - 17.1" WIDE TFT LCD panel

Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - 15.4" TFT
Review of Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - Turion 64 mobile technology MK-36 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
maggot13
Advantages: cheap, good quality laptop with decent features, upgradable.
Disadvantages: no bluetooth. memory will need upgrading if moving on to Windows Vista
...First off what an easy to use laptop full of built in features for a very reasonable price ( £349.99 upwards) was £380 when i purchased mine but is worth every penny. Why people pay in excess of £500 for machines with a lower spec is beyond me. Acer have come a long way in providing great quality laptops at a lower price.
on first run you follow the setup options and then it recommends you create a restore disc i did this using 2 blank dvd's with ease just following the on screen instructions. once this was complete i did the windows updates to get it fully upto date.
The inbuilt wireless adapter (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter) connects so easy to my wireless network with a reasonable range even in the garden. The 15.4" WXGA wide CrystalBrite TFT LCD Display is just as good as its name suggests (crystal) it displays...

Jenoptik JD C 2.1 Lcd
Review of JENOPTIK JENDIGITAL JD C 2.1 LCD by
callancool
Advantages: good clear photos easy to use reasonable battery life
Disadvantages: No video out steady hand needed
.... For example, the JD 1.3 bosts a tft screen and seels for about £70, whilst it's almtost identical twin the JD2.1 comes in at around £90-£100. It's the 2.1 which we'll be reviewing here, and as you can guess the 2.1 stands for the image sensor size, of 2.1 megapixels. However as a name this is a little misleading, as the camera will actually take pictures at 3.0 megapixels, although this setting is interpolated and as a result quality suffers.
So how does the camera rate. Well first impressions as you take it out of the wrap are of a lightweight plastic cased camera. However, insert the batteries and it feels quite solid, unlike some cheaper cameras. The box tells us it has a Cmos sensor which usually realates to poorer image quality than those with Ccd's. However Cmos's are lighter on battery load, and thankfully this camera seems to last well...

A Great Entry Level TFT (LCD) at a Cheap Price
Review of Dabsvalue NEOVIEW AL151 by
Meshek
Advantages: Cheap, No Dead Pixels, Pivot Function, Speaker
Disadvantages: Lowish Contrast Ratio, Slowish Refresh Rate
...Introduction
-----------------
A TFT monitor (Thin Film Transistor) is a type of monitor which uses a liquid crystal display to show a pictured, this is opposed to standard CRT monitors (Cathode Ray Tube) which project a beam of electrons into a phosphorescent screen. TFT screens have a number of advantages over conventional CRT screen and so with the price dropping from many hundreds of pounds a few years ago to around £200 today I recently decided to buy this monitor from dabs. Dabs brands it as Dabsvalue however this monitor it is actually an ATEC AL151.

ACER 17" TFT MONITOR FROM THEIR LCD VALUE LINE
Review of Acer AL1711 by
inycon2
Advantages: Good value, lots of adjustable features
Disadvantages: Poor viewing angles
...My second attempt at a technical product review focuses on my Acer 17" TFT Monitor AL1711. I bought it as part of a computer package around 12 months ago - purchased seperately it will set you back around £325 incl VAT. My knowledge on computer components and accessories at that time was pretty basic to say the least, so I relied entirely on the expertise of a very capable sales assistant at a trusted, highly praised specialist shop on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. The basic package didn't include a flat screen monitor so I paid around £180 extra as I wanted to avoid the eyestrain and headaches so often experienced with conventional screens.
The computer package was delivered a week later and despite my limited experience, I managed to follow the colour coded cable system and had everything ready to go in a couple of hours...

NEC 18" TFT highly recommended
Review of NEC MultiSync LCD1860NX by
David8
Advantages: Clear, sharp and large image, wide viewing angle, attractive design
Disadvantages: Expensive when bought individually, confusing setup instructions, fiddly adjustment
...I recently purchased a Mesh PC which came with this excellent, large 18 inch flat screen TFT (and 18 inch viewable, i.e. equivalent roughly to a 20 inch CRT where the edges are not viewable). This is the first time I've had a TFT monitor: I was keen to have a large screen without the clear disadvantage of a large CRT's footprint on the desk and size in transit. This monitor has met my need and far exceeds my expectations. Now I can't invisage ever returning to a CRT monitor.
The monitor has a high maximum resolution of 1280x1024 and I would advise using this setting. If set to lower resolution, text doesn't appear uniformly across the screen. This is because the pixel size is fixed due to the monitor's permanent 1280x1024 resolution - if a lower resolution image is blown up to this size, thin lines in text may become either 1...
