...The Panasonic KX-TG 8222 is a brilliant home phone and no mistaking; I do most of my communicating by telephone via my mobile and even then only when I have to. I am not one of those people who pick up a phone and chat endlessly to someone because I have nothing better to do but when I do need to use a phone I like it to feel comfortable to hold and not to crackle in my ear, those were my only real lookouts for a phone but I didn`t realise how bad our old house phones really were until we bought these. The Panasonic KXTG8222EB digital telephone is of course cordless and has a large LCD screen, illuminated keypad, 200 name and number directory and an answering machine function which will allow you to record up to 40 minutes of messages ( a good 20 minutes more than my last phones offered). Advantages: GOOD ROBUST FEEL - GOOD LOOKS
Disadvantages: NO ALARM AND HAVE TO TRANSFER STORED NUMBERS TO EACH HANDSET

...It recently became clear that I needed to change my home phone as callers were becoming very hard to hear. My old phone had lasted for over 10 years so I decided to splash out on a new digital phone. My previous phone had 3 handsets, alarm, phonebook etc. Looking around the shops I realised that replacing my trusty old phone was going to be difficult. Most 'attractive' phones I tried seemed flimsy and not well made but the phones that did have a good solid feel to them generally looked unattractive. (Just because it is a phone does not mean it cannot be aesthetically pleasing). Eventually I came across the Panasonic range. Advantages: very stable on its charger

...I wanted to by this model because of the favorable reviews I had read. I went to the local Comet shop where the only had the KXTG7124 model (with 4 handset: more than I needed) or else the newer KX-TG223ES with 3 handsets. I could not quite identify any significant technical difference between the newer 7223 and the older 7123, but I immediately noticed that the newer7223 has extremely poor stability: a minimal shake would knock the handset off the basic unit or charger ! On the contrary the older KX-TG7123 could be shaken vigorously without falling off. I went back home an order the older but more stable 7123 from an online retailer, where it is still available. Having used this phone for just a few days, I can say so far there are many PROs and 1 CON. PROs: works well, I like being able to enter phone numbers on one handse
