My 3rd Mamas & Papas pliko p3
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko P3 by
galaxy2.3i
Advantages: Small and compact yet fully comfortable and spaciouse
Disadvantages: Very Pricey but worth it
...Well first of all i purchased a second hand pliko pushchair in 2005 and it was really easy to use and very reliable even being second hand. Then when i realised that they had improved the style of the chasis and fabric designs i started looking for a new model that i could upgrade to. At this point my son was about 8 months old and starting to wriggle about and eat biscuits etc in the buggy, so i purchased a new PLIKO P3 in city scape fabric [ which is black/grey] after buying such a dark colourway i started tto regret it as the slightest drop of food or milk and it showed up like a flood light in the dark. I have used the buggy up until now and its still going strong with many years use still left in it.
I have now purchased my 3rd pliko p3 and the matching primmo viaggio car seat and base as my 5th baby is now here. I have this time...

The P3 Pramette Makes a great pram!
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko P3 by
Wysiwyg78
Advantages: Can be used as both a pram and pushchair without having to attach new bits, looks good!
Disadvantages: Expensive, heavy to push, not very durable.
...When I was pregnant I spent a lot of time looking at different pushchairs and prams. As this was my first baby I wasn't really sure what I would need. I decided I would quite like a pram, as they are supposed to be much better for younf babies, but i would also need a pushchair from about 3 months onwards.
We came across the Mamas & Papas Pliko P3 in the January sales. They were selling the pramette version complete with the Primo viaggio car seat for £300, a massive £100 off the normal price. To be honest I loved it and fell in love with it instantly. so after much deliberation we bought it.
We first used it when our little girl was a week old and it was brilliant. My little girl had plenty of room to move around, and was really wamr and snug whilst it was in pram mode. We couldn't have asked for a better pram. The only complaint...

Pliko P3 is fit for purpose
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko P3 by
sadoldbag
Advantages: Good price, does birth to 3, folds up easily-ish, can attach car seat
Disadvantages: Bit heavy, hard to push one handed,
...I bought the Pliko P3 as I like the idea of the Viaggo car seat being able to clip straight onto it, but after that stage being left with a perfectly useful umbrella folding one-hand one foot see your toddler right through sort of push chair.
I checked I could hold a large baby in one hand and fold up the pushchair in the other; that it would fit easily into the boot of both our cars (Toyota Avensis and Celica) and that I thought it would see us through the whole pushchair stage without having to go out and buy a cheaper more lightweight one at sixth months as so many people do.
I have now got a second child who uses it, aged one year.
The Good Things
* For a new born baby you can lie it flat, so if you have a summer baby as we did you can use it in place of a pram. this saves buying a bit bulky pram attachment...

TH7-II Raid - a classic & still up with the best
Review of Abit Socket 478 TH7-II-RAID - mainboard - ATX - i850 by
tomsmith500
Advantages: reliable, very upgradable, fast and very over-clockable.
Disadvantages: no HT support, only USB 1.1, did anybody get built in LAN?
...After upgrading from a trusty P3-500 to an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz I found pressing the reset button every few minutes to be a real pain so I went back to Intel. I wanted a reliable system that was fast, clockable and futureproof. It also had to be rock solid and stable as well. Looking around everyone was saying good things about the TH7-II so I decided to buy one and give it a go.
This board didn't come cheap. When you add Rambus RIMMS and a P4 processor in as well it was pretty expensive. But I was so annoyed with how unreliable my previous system was I bought it anyway and sold the Athlon and VIA based motherboard to a mate for £50.
This board is Abit's i850 chipset solution featuring 5 PCI slots, 1 AGP, 4 slots for Rambus rimms and 2 Highpoint HPT370 IDE channels in addition to the 2 standard IDE channels. The Highpoint has its own...

Mamas & Papas Pliko P3
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko P3 by
scaplin
Advantages: Easy to fold, compact, easy to use
Disadvantages: Having to put the wheels on myself!
...We bought this pushchair a few months ago for our 3rd child. I previously had a Maclaren 3 in 1 so went for something different this time.
I was a bit surprised when we collected it that it came in such a small compact box, but when folded its just a little bit bulkier than a buggy. However the only thing they didn't tell me was when I took it out of the box - I had to attach the wheels, the brake pad and the cup holder. I know that doesn't seem like a major problem but being 8 months pregnant and impatient to get it done (can't wait for husband to come home from work!), I was a bit miffed at having to do this. The cup holder was EXTREMELY hard to get on - very tight but I suppose it has to be to be secure but I was so scared of snaping it trying to get it on as its plastic.
However once past this stage, the pushchair itself...

Much More Speed Increase Than I Expected! Get A P3!
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by
mattmajor
Advantages: Compatibility - Speed - & Speed!
Disadvantages: price (CPUs are NOT Cheap!)
...Recently I gave into the “pressure” and purchased a new Intel Pentium III processor. For over a year my main system was running on a P2-350, and truthfully I thought that the speed was incredibly fast and that I did not need an upgrade. However, when I built a second computer last week I decided to go with a P3 even though I highly considered saving the money and buying another P2.
I am very glad that I decided to go with the P3 550. This processor wasn’t excessively expensive since it has been out for a while now (6 Months?), so I did not feel like I was throwing away my money.
Let me tell you... right away I noticed a considerable speed increase over the P2-350 that I replaced. Programs and windows popped up extraordinarily faster than before. Full-screen DVD playback was now smooth-as-can-be! Everything that I thought...

The P3 Chip.
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by
andycharger
Advantages: Great little chip
Disadvantages: None
...When Pentium took over the market with their new chip nearly 10 years ago now, it shocked the PC world into thinking we had an unendless means to our machines.
Well, apart from an increase in Processor speed, has the P3 got any improvements over the P2 or is it significantly worse than the P4?
Well, in a word. No on all counts.
The P3 is significantly smaller in size compared to the P2. In fact, to look at, it looks just like the old P1 socket 7 size chip.
I thought I had the wrong machine when I opened up my PC to see this old design on my motherboard.
Yet, It is the way technology is going. Make it all smaller. The P4 looks very similar too which makes me wonder? Is there any difference other than speed.
The Bus speed and makes a lot of difference.
The old P2's ran on 33 and 66 Mhz speed boards and limited the output speed...

The Operating System for P3's and above
Review of Microsoft Windows XP Professional Complete package by
keyboard_kowboy
Advantages: Fast, No more Blue screens of Death
Disadvantages: Its Microsoft , Still a few (haha) bugs to iron out
...make coffee or a sandwich for 1/2 hour or so (depending on your cd rom speed) and it will install.
Ok one technical note here XP takes about 128 MB of ram to run its processes, so if you got 256MB of ram you will only have 128MB to run other programs after XP. Also though it does run on Pentium 2 or the AMD equivelent i would suggest a P3 minimum.
Once the Computer has rebooted it will adjust your screen size and colour depth and let you in, asking you to register along the way. You will be then presented with your desktop and the fun begins.
When they did they default colours for XP i think they guys at microsoft must have been on acid or something the colour scheme is too bright and in a word bubbble gumish. But luckily XP is fully customizable and you can change that later. The Boot up , Login screens, Logos, desktop and others...
