Superbooks! Looks at the Thanksgiving Day Parade~

Advantages: Less people in bad weather, GO to the parade, even in rain
Disadvantages: CROWDS, and hardly any view if you arrive after NINE AM

...Here's a review of an attempt to see the Thanksgiving day parade in New York City, (year 2006) . Okay, so here's advice on how to get a better view of the parade for NEXT YEAR: 1. Arrive MORE THAN EARLY. We were told that some of the high school bands arrived there at around three or four AM that morning. And, we asked them about how many people were there at that time. They said there were hundreds and hundreds of people. So, arrive at three AM if possible or four am if you want the BEST look at the parade. 2. Bring your own snacks and drinks because once you are in your SPACE at the parade, you won't get to leave there until the parade is over. ...I have to donate this op to writing about Thanksgiving as it is coming up Thursday and it is a holiday to be celebrated every day as far as I am concerned. In the past Thanksgiving for me was a time to go to my parents house and all the family would be there and we would have a big feast and enjoy our time together. Most of the older members of my family have now passed on and my own son lives 3 thousand miles away but it is still a time to celebrate. Turkey For Thanksgiving And Christmas.

...For my American fellows members who celebrates Thanksgiving. Or Christmas. How To Bake A Turkey? Well they are two ways to bake a turkey ,the new way and the old way. The new way, you seasons the turkey with solt,pepper,onion powder and cover the entire turkey with flour , stick it into a special plastic bag. Turn on the over for 400, leave the turkey in for any where 4 to 6 hours and voila you have your Thanksgiving meal almost ready. The old way: which I recomend cause there is more work involved and defenitely the finish product will test much better . Here we go, you cover the entire turkey with half of stick meltod butter, season it with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and let is stay for at least 4 hours before you start preperation for baking. the best rainy day

Advantages: amazing show, great city, holiday atmosphere

...New York was where I spent my first and last thanksgiving and where I was also celebrating my 21 st birthday on the same day. The biggest problem with the parade is that it was a very rainy day and the streets were full of people messing around with umbrellas and children crying. However, the parade itself was fantastic with giant inflatable cartoon characters and floats and music. This sort of parade puts any other parade I've seen to shame in terms of scope and size and crowds drawn. Manhattan is very different on Thanksgiving day in that a lot of streets are empty and there are a lot of people on only a few streets and the whole place is very quiet in comparison to the day before or after. Laying the ghost?

Advantages: an intriguing storyline

...I knew I was taking a bit of a risk reading ?A Ghost at the Table?, as it does not fit in with the usual books I read. However, I like to extend my reading horizons at times, the blurb on the back of the book was quite intriguing and it had received a number of good reviews so there was a good deal of promise. I?m not going to say that I disliked the book, because I didn?t, but it just didn?t grab me in the way that lots of books do and as a consequence, I admit to finding it hard going. I hate to give up on a book though so I did stick with it but it was a bit hard work at times! The Ghost at the Table is set in the US and is written by Suzanne Berne, who has won the Orange Prize for another of her novels. It takes place one Thanksgiving and focuses on a highly dysfunctional family as they get together to celebrate. The story is told...

...each one starts out like this. I am not going to explain each episode in detail because I think that will be too much but I will pick out my highlights and explain that generally way that this season will end up. Disc 1 - The Pilot - Monica and the gang introduce Rachel to the "real world" after she leaves her finace at the altar. The One with the Butt - Joey finally gets a film role as a stand-in for Al Pacino's butt. Disc 2 - The One where Underdog gets away - Monica plans a lovely Thanksgiving feast in her apartment but her plans go awry. I love the Thanksgiving episodes they do. It's a re-occurring theme throughout the whole run where they have a big Thanksgiving feast or dress up and go back in time to remember Thanksgivings of old. Doubletree, Hilton quality at affordable prices.

Advantages: Beautiful, clean hospitable hotel, bargain price

...I stayed here for 5 days in late November 2008. I would definately recommend. Doubletree is a Hilton hotel and you get what you expect from that brand here. There was a shuttle service from St Louis Airport, which was free, the car park was also free and they bake delicious fresh cookies behind the front desk, which they hand out liberally, also FREE. There was also an ATM machine and small selection of drinks, snacks and toiletries you could purchase. There was a nice bar with widescreen tv and very comfortable sofas and chairs. The was also a restaurant although I didnt use it. I booked through the American Airlines website ( AAdvantage members) and got the luxury room for $80 a night, which was around £45 based on the exchange rate when I booked which is outstanding for the hotel of this calibre. Laughs all the way and a happy ending.

Advantages: One of the best films I have ever seen.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.

...Wow what a film, I was too young to see this film at the cinema, but it was the first video I ever brought and I also own it on DVD, again the first one I have brought. An excellent film which I could watch time after time. The Plot. Neil Page, Steve Martin, is a marketing executive trying to get home to his family for thanksgiving, when he runs into Del, a travelling shower curtain salesman played by John Candy, who is likewise trying to get home for thanksgiving. The film follows the emotional highs and lows as the pair find themselves thrust together by fate and have every obstacle put in their way to stop them getting home in time for thanksgiving.
