All of the momentous events of JFK's remarkable term are covered (with actual news footage used to excellent effect), but it is the portrayal of the entire Kennedy family as real, flawed people that gives Kennedy its power. The Kennedys gossip, snipe, joke and bother each other like a real family rather than rigid historical figures or threadbare caricatures. Sheen plays JFK as a man with lofty ideals who is more than willing to dirty his hands to serve his greater purpose. Blair Brown plays Jacqueline Kennedy with a shrewd understanding of politics, but also a whiff of vanity. Australian Louise Solomon has combined the ancient system of yoga with the modern system Pilates, resulting in her own Yogalates. Her intention is to unite yogas breathing, its internal workout, and its benefits for stress and anxiety together with the Pilates focus on strengthening deeper muscles. But her promise that this can help you lose weight in 28 days cheapens her premise. The implication that neither system is adequate is also misleading. Nevertheless Yogalates will appeal to older, professional women looking for a toning regime. Solomon is not at ease as a presenter: as a teacher her style features constant talking and instruction, which is good if you want your mind occupied, but stressful if you want to clear your mind and relax. Her strengths lie in encouraging knowledge of the body, notably the spine and the natural curves. Those familiar with yoga will gain most from this, otherwise following it can be confusing. The other key problem is that many of the stretches involve a particular resistance band. You can try and make do with a pair of lycra leggings, but eventually youll give up. This looks deceptively easy--its not. If you can stick it through, the chances are you will tone up in 28 days. But dont expect it to be fun. --Lorna V ... less

Bergman stars as an amnesiac in Paris during the early 1920s who is picked up by an exiled White Russian General (Yul Brynner) and encouraged to pose as the long-lost daughter, Anastasia, of the murdered Czar Nicholas of Russia. If she successfully passes as Anastasia, the General and his co-horts stand to gain the £10 million that has been held in trust at the Bank of England. However, they have to convince the only surviving member of the Romanov family, the Grand Duchess (Helen Hayes) before they can get their hands on the money. Love is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955) is set in Hong Kong during the Korean War. A Eurasian female doctor (Jennifer Jones) and an American journalist (William Holden) fall in love. However, their love does not run a smooth course as he is already married and her family and friends do not approve. In Three Coins in a Fountain (1954), three American women in Rome fall for the myth that if you throw a coin into the Fountain of Trevi your wishes will be granted. Naturally, they all wish to be swept off their feet by Italian men, and the film chronicles their rocky road to romance. The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (1958) is the true story of an English missionary who led a hundred children over enemy territory in pre-WWII China. Robert Donat plays a Chinese mandarin in his final screen performance and North Wales stands in for the Chinese countryside. An Affair To Remember (1957) stars Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr as a playboy and a nightclub singer who embark on a shipboard romance and eventually fall completely in love with each other. They decide to make a pact that when they arrive to their separate homes, they will end their respective relationships, and rendezvous in six months' time at the top of the Empire State Building.
