A baby Lego train
Review of Lego Baby 5463: Play Train by
mumsymary
Advantages: Aids early construction skills
Disadvantages: none
...Baby's first train.
Trains fascinate children and adults alike. Whether it's the fast new trains or the old steam trains which hold that piece of magic. We have train museums, old steam train railways lines and events. There are model railways designed and played with for and by adults. Most of us and our children will have had some sort of train toy during childhood. Many manufacturers make toy trains.
A toy train that I have played with recently alongside a child I hasten to add is the Lego baby train number 5463.
Lego Baby is the largest of the Lego range. First available as Lego baby in 2005 It used to be called Lego primo or Duplo primo. These bricks are designed for babies from 6 to 18 months. The train is recommended for children ages 1year and over. These bricks are 4 times the size of duplo eight times ordinary Lego...

Imagine a little boy kneeling on the floor his head down and his fair hair shining he is saying chooo choo brrrrrrrrrmmmmmm . This boy call him Adrian is so involved in his train set he is pushing the wooden trains around and joining carriages and trucks to the engine. He reaches into the plastic tub we store the train set in for another piece of track it is wooden track this piece is a straight section. Adrian fits this section in it fits with ends like a jigsaw piece mmm that's not right , he reaches for a curved piece with trying to fit this he makes his circle bigger now he sits on floor head down bottom in the air chooooooooo choooooooo Adrian is now trying to fit a bridge in the track so that his trains can go over and her can push a car under it. Ride the Animal Train
Review of Chicco Electronic Animal Train by
Jordon
Advantages: Big buttons, Portable, Strong, Bright colours
Disadvantages: None
...Chicco Electronic Animal Train
Age range: 9-36 months
Batteries require 2 AA sizes
This train was released in 1994 by Chicco who are an Italian company who make baby and pre school products.
It’s shaped in to a Train with a carry handle at the top which is the smoke.
It’s in a white and red background with brightly coloured buttons.
The carry handle is the smoke coming from the train which has eleven blue stars which light up when a button is pressed and also when you turn the train on. As the train has moving wheels you can push the train along but when this is done there is no sound or lights flashing.
So what does the train have and do?
A tour of the train from beginning to end
A red small rectangle shape with 3D lines slopping from left to right. This button makes Choo Choo sound which is repeated twice...

Join on the Choo-choo train....
Review of Tesco Wooden Train Set by
kerrith
Advantages: cheap, lots of add-ons
Disadvantages: pieces do not stay attached
...My son is train mad. Anything to do with trains will catch his attention. So, as it was approaching his second birthday, I went looking for a suitable train set.
Browsing round the toy section in Tesco, I noticed they had a small selection of wooden train sets. Usually priced at £24.95 for a 70 piece set, the sale price was £9.24. Perfect. The other set available was a 50 piece set usually priced £19.97 but in the sale at £8.87.
As well as train sets, Tesco also has a wide range of wooden accessories for the set. You can buy an extra train carriage for less than a pound, a whole train and animals for £3.75, a signal box for around the same price and many other things. You can buy additional track to add on to your railway in various sized boxes, mostly costing under £10. These are ideal presents for children who already...

Hop along on the ANIMAL TRAIN!
Review of Chicco Electronic Animal Train by
Connoisseur_Haggler
Advantages: Easy to use, colourful buttons, effective train sounds, Train can be used as push along
Disadvantages: Animal sounds could have been better, bit heavy
...under three.
This Chicco toy is an animal train with brightly coloured shaped buttons as shown in the Ciao photo above. Each shape and colour represents a different animal; there are 8 animals in total. The idea of the toy is to teach children the different sounds of animals and aid their development in recognising colours and associating each shape/sound with an animal. To make it more fun it is in the shape of a train with wheels that allows a child to push it manually. It requires batteries to enable to hear the electronic animal or train sounds. It is recommended for babies from 9 months till 36 months. My son received this toy as a present just before his 1st birthday a few months ago.
By the time a child turns 12 months parents can usually sense what things interest him or her...and my child normally doesn’t play with toys too...

The train leaving from platform 2 is the Tomica
Review of Tomy Tomica Trains by
headgardener
Advantages: Good quality, can be added to and expanded
Disadvantages: Batteries run out, can be expensive to extend, needs quite a bit of space
...Tomy Trains
A battery operated train set directed at the pre-school age children (although older children enjoy it too!!).
Primarily they are designed as base sets with add on extras available at extra charge.
Ranging in price from around £20 to £60, these quality Tomy train sets are designed for durability and longevity.
They are available in Toys’r’us, and most other good toyshops(and car boot sales)
We came by our Tomy train set last year at a local car boot sale.
I had previously bought my friend’s son a second-hand Thomas the Tank engine set, and had watched him thoroughly enjoy his set for many months.
When my daughter showed some real interest in it we felt that she could easily cope with a set.
Our first box cost us £2.50, and contained 4 engines, a station, level crossings and tons of track...

This Train will terminate sooner rather then later
Review of Brio Remote Control Express Train by
JohnCheese
Advantages: nice design, good remote, children like it
Disadvantages: too many batteries, not so cheap
...My son got this train as a present as he was already the owner of substantial number of Brio train collection pieces (rails, bridges, trains, wagons, traffic signs, buildings, animals, trees...). All of them were pretty static unless moved manually. This was his first battery operated vehicle and on top of that it has remote control. I thought that would be a good opportunity to stop him playing with various remote controls for adults. (It was only a thought as there are never enough remotes for boys - well, men actually.) Remote control is in size like a third of the real TV remote, quite chunky and lays nice in the child's little hands. The train is 19 cm long.
The toy was a great success. It gave a complete new dimension to the whole Brio set. My son quickly discovered all the options available from the remote so horn was used...

Tesco trains
Review of Tesco Wooden Train Set by
classicmum
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: As good as original brands
...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages, sign and mountains all for £24...

Hop on board the animal train...
Review of Fisher Price Amazing Animals Learning Train by
eeyore220376
Advantages: Fun Song, Motorised Action.
Disadvantages: Probably won't be too engaging after about a year
...This was a birthday gift that we purchased for my son's first birthday and he really loved it.
The train comes in two main part, the train and one double section trailer. Three animals are supplied with it, a tall giraffe, an elephant and a monkey. The animals fit into the train quite nicely and if requird, other animals can be bought separately... a hippo, | | |
