More 70s Show fun

Advantages: Complete season, engaging, witty, funny

...As my other reviews of That 70s Show DVD box sets may have shown, if you have read them before, I am an avid fan of this sitcom, set in that grand decade of peace and free loving: the '70s. And season 5? Definitely one of the best. The Premise That 70s Show revolves mostly around a group of six friends living in the fictional town of Point Place, which is situated in Wisconsin (which is real, incidentally). That '70s Feeling

Advantages: Well scripted and acted, funny, Laura Prepon
Disadvantages: Someone is bound to "Jump the Shark"...

Advantages: you can have fun with it.
Disadvantages: could have picked better songs

After reading all the views on how appauling it was i nearly didnt buy it, However i like to find out for myself as i noticed many views were not broken down or in detail. I also noticed many people seemed to be slamming it for being unprofessional so at 1.99 i wasnt worried if i lost my money. I am glad i did this. The dvd is broken into sections. When i first put the dvd on the first section i must say is lame. The music i would not class as 70s and i wanted to know where were the words! I watched closey and yes anthony does not give you much direction,however the moves arent that hard if you are flexiable and arent ashamed of jumping around. When we get onto the second section-- yeahhh the music is on. Not that high in the background but on and if you take this dvd light hearted- i bet you could have...

My 70's memories.

Advantages: I was born in the 60's though lived my childhood in the 70's!
Disadvantages: makes me feel soooo old!!!!

The nikon d70s is unbeatable!

Advantages: easy to use - quality of product -speed - just cracking! better than canon or nikon 50
Disadvantages: Price but then SLR digital cameras are all dear! No memory card included

...I purchased my camera just before the summer in anticipation of a trip to Venice - a photographer's paradise. Having compared the available digital SLRs it was so apparent to me that the NIKON D70S was by far superior in many respects. The size of the camera means that you can hold it without fear of it dropping or slipping out of your hand - I found other cameras too small. The feel exudes quality - there are no flimsy bits, the lens supplied (nikon) is a top quality lens - not a budget version found on the cheaper d50 or on the canon 350d. The speed of functions is stunning compared to my previous digital camera (pseudo SLR Olympus) - formatting of memeory card is done in a flash, readyness of integral flash is very fast and write speed to memory card is also very quick, even with a slow er version of the compact flash card. Nikon D70s

Advantages: Solid, professional class images; fast
Disadvantages: Not overly simple to use; small LCD screen; auto settings can disappoint

...No questioning the Nikon quality..it's robust and solid like it's reputation but not the best buy in it's class for the amateur. I should state at this stage that I'm no professional although I do use the camera to back up my magazine articles so I hope you'll find my views useful. The D70s is fast and produces great images but you need a good understanding of light and exposure to get the best out of it. To this end I would recommend weaning yourself off the automatic functions as soon as possible. I use the camera with a DX AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm for general use and back it up with a 55-200mm for more precise work. One downside of the first lens is that you do get some vignetting at the widest angle - especially with a filter. The camera uses a D lens mount so will take a wide range of other manufacturer lenses. The camera offers...

Oh No another 70s cover album.....or is it ?

Advantages: Consistently good choice of songs-with a fresh approach
Disadvantages: Plastic looking photographs for the cover

I loved his last album "What I meant to saY" Which was predominently new music co-written with the likes of Eliot Kennedy (Spice Girls), Gary Barlow and Paul Peterson (formerly associated with Prince). I wanted the next album to be yet more good original stuff-Donny's sung other people's music most of his life ! That 70s Show is funny

Advantages: fun watch show and makes you laugh
Disadvantages: none really

...That 70s Show is one of those shows that i can always count on making me laugh. The best laughter doesn't come from just telling jokes, but by the way the characters are and how they interact with each other. Each character on the show doesnt need to depend on another person to act out their part, they really do act like real life kids. The show contains basic traumas that a teenager goes through, as well as very unique experiences. i love seeing situations that aren't boring every day life occurences, ive seen a million other shows that teach kids how to deal with drugs, sex, parents, blah blah. when i watch a show, i simply want to be entertained, not lectured. and that 70s show does just that. one episode contains the teenagers smoking marijuana, most parents would be appalled by the "message" that the show is sending their kids...

Advantages: Describes the era well, entertaining, very 70s
Disadvantages: Sketchy plot, shallow characters, lack of depth and direction

I liked the 70s feel of the book in which it drew a fairly descriptive picture of what life looked like back then including details of the decor of an average pad or public place at the time. The language used is of course San Franciscan 70s, with typical expressions of the era, some gone some still alive but now obviously dated. Apart from these descriptions the other forte were the dialogs. They are everyday, banale such as the characters while at the same time being the pivoting point of everything happening and forming most of the story as it rolls along. Good viewing for fans of 70s rock

Advantages: Interesting story, good acting, good soundtrack, quite atmospheric
Disadvantages: None really

...up being hired by Rolling Stone magazine, who believe he is a qualified music journalist, to tour with and write about an new rock group called Stillwater, in the early 1970s (the tour being set in 1973 I believe). Stillwater consist of Jeff Bebe (played by Jason Lee), Russel Hammond (played by Billy Crudup), Larry Fellows (played by Mark Kozelek) and Ed Vallencourt (played by John Fedevich). I feel I should also mention that, having looked it up out of interest, it turns out that there was a rock band (folk/rock) in the 1960s/70s of the same name but this is a different band to the one in this movie, if that helps. His mother (played by Zooey Deschanel) is quite unhappy, being very much against the stereotype of rock and roll, often saying 'say no to drugs' and all that sort of thing.
