...Having successfully managed to find one, I was terribly excited just to take it home and get it all wired up. My first game was Baseball, and have to say became quite bored after about an hour of playing. It just didn't have that old-school effect on me as the Xbox and Playstation did. In my opinion, Nintendo were desperate for market domination once again, so designed a games console that would be a huge step further than the other market rivals. The truth being is that they concentrated too much on the simulator control, and forgot other important things such as Graphics and exciting game play. The gaming was old school, as it reminded me of those arcade games from the late 80's - 90's, with slightly better graphics. School Reunion, The 80's Excellent CD's

...Well at last it has appeared as I requested this. In November last year I saw this advertised on the television and wondered if it was as good as it seems. I was a bit worried as I have bought many an 80's flop only to find that all the songs have been by one band and appalling at that and it has gone straight to the bin. I however kept seeing this television advert and put it on my wish list to Santa. However Santa wrote me a nice letter saying that he could not get into Woolworths to buy it on Christmas Eve as it was jammed packed. Mostly from the 80s, not many hits & almost no disco tracks

Advantages: The 6 number 1 records
Disadvantages: The rest of the tracks are rubbish

...Well the title itself is a misnomer for starters as the disco era was a fairly short period during the mid 1970's as disco was ousted from the music scene by Punk and the 80's were ruled by 2 Tone Ska then the New Romantics and synth music at least as far as the UK went any way. Disco may have lived on into the 80's in America but it was replaced by electro, hip hop then rap followed by House music. Wikipedia even openly admits that disco died in 1979 but also states "the genre continued to be popular elsewhere during the 1980s", probably in less fashionable countries that hadn't adopted whatever was popular from England or America by then. ...My wife was in Woolworths the other day, and whilst browsing at the albums which were in the sale she came upon this wonderful collection for the remarkable price of 99p. That's right you get change out of a pound. I must admit it's not the greatest 80's album in the world but what do you expect for a pound. Cover Design This is pretty uninspiring but having said that it must have done something to attract my wifes attention. Basically, the album cover is black, with 56 purple circles with the number 1 in yellow emblazoned within each purple circle to signify the fact only number 1 singles are included on the album. Near the top of the cover, the album title is emblazoned in yellow, and a selection of artists is detailed at the foot of the cover to attract your attention. Fantastic 80's 3

Advantages: 2 cd set with some great tunes from the 80's
Disadvantages: a few not well know songs on here

...If you remember the 80's and loved the music , then this is defiantley the album for you ... This two disk CD set covers all various artists from 1980-1989 and has a combined forty songs !! not bad eh. There are so many songs and groups on here that a lot of you will remember and it brings back good times for me remembering the school disco's ! My favourites on this album are "hungry like the wolf" that has to be one of mine as a Duran Duran fan, and I have good memories of Billy Ocens "Get outo my dreams, get into my car". Another classic is "Prince Charming" by Adam and the ants. There are a couple of dud songs on here that I did not really enjoy that much, such as "I'm a wonderful thing baby" and "Ride on time" I really hated that song when it came out as it was number one for weeks and weeks and just got on my nerves...

Advantages: Great songs from the 80's
Disadvantages: A few one hit wonders

...FANTASTIC 80'S 2 Since I remember quite a bit of this 80's music growing up with it I wanted to review this double CD album. This is probably the best out of the three of them and has songs on it most of you will remember. The CD's cover a wide range of this 80's music and is highly enjoyable (if you liked the music that is !!) Both disks have hits from them that reached number one in the charts at the time and bring back good memories from my schooldays. The first disk contains : 1. Club Tropicana by WHAM - This single was released in 1983 just as the band was taking off and this was probably one of their biggest hits that made them, this had a bright colourful music video for the time. 2. ...I was a teenager in the 80's. It's funny how many parents remember our teenage years as being the worst of times and we remember them as being the time when the world rocked! Mind you, looking at the teenagers that hang around outside my house things have certainly changed. I mean, you never see a teenager without a mobile phone glued to their hands most of the time. For most of them they can't even use them as they don't have any credit in them, they are just a fashion accessory, another statement. They didn't have mobile phones when I was a girl, actually I think they were invented, they just resembled your everyday house brick. They definitely weren't a fashion accessory though. Typical 80's action

Advantages: Some tension, funny at times
Disadvantages: Clunky dialogue, too long

...a typical 80?s action movie that I had never heard of until a few days ago when it was showing on BBC1 late one night and decided that as I had nothing better to do I would sit down and watch it. Not expecting a lot from it, the only way was up for this film as I was expecting to turn it off half way through due to boredom. I?ve never really been a fan of 80?s action films as most of them are absolutely dreadful, of course there are a few exceptions (Die Hard, The Terminator), unfortunately Deadly Pursuit (also known as Shoot To Kill) doesn?t live up to two of the best known films of all time but it certainly didn?t have me dying of boredom either which in my eyes makes it a relative success. I Love the 80s

Advantages: Great music and 80s nostalgia
Disadvantages: Sandler doing the same gags he always does

...Sandler was a one trick pony and all his films were very much the same. Thankfully before anyone got tired of his repetitive acting and juvenile comedy he delivered one of the most enjoyable films to come from the 90s, that being the hugely funny "The Wedding Singer" a romantic-comedy set in the 80s where bad hair, bad fashion and cheesy music ruled the scene. To be honest the film is not really any different to any of the many other films which Sandler has fronted, it has the same gags, the same cast and of course Sandler whose main ability is to lose his temper and shout at which point we are meant to laugh.
