Fathers Guest House, great place in the Cameron Highlands

...Fathers Guest house has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer. If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill. Driving up towards the guesthouse the first thing that is obvious is that this is a beautiful area. The views from the top go right across the town and amongst the rolling hills of the area. Tarbet House - a cut above the rest!

Advantages: Stunning views, modern and spacious!
Disadvantages: Does not cater for children or pets

South Hampton Guest House - ok

Advantages: Reasonably Priced
Disadvantages: Very Small Rooms

...My partner and I stayed at the South Hampton Guest House for a weekend in early 2006. We choose the property because it was reasonably close to the centre of Cambridge Township (about 15-20 minutes walk) and also for it's price. We paid £45/night for the two of us including breakfast. The general décor was nothing to marvel about, a bit pokey and very old fashioned. However, keeping in mind what we paid our stay was reasonable. The rooms (I think there were 4 or 5 in total) were on the small side. Ours was fitted with a double bed, a single chair, one bedside table, a small wardrobe with several drawers attached and a tv mounted on the wall. There was a little side tray containing tea, coffee milk and a few biscuits. There was very little room for much else and we had to store our 1 suitcase on top of the wardrobe. There was...

...The Anchor Guest House is situated in the city centre. From Dublin Airport, travel on the 747 (Easily caught from outside the airport exit, well signposted and regular) Stay on the bus until Dublin Bus Station, the Anchor Guest House is situated in Lower Gardiner Street which is just round the corner from the bus station. The Guest House is a town house with a new extension on the back. There are a few steps to go up and I have not seen a ramp. From the entrance hall, up about 10 stairs you walk through a sitting room to the extension which has a lift. The rooms are all well presented, clean and tidy with Television and en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Advantages: Amazing scenery
Disadvantages: Week story and can easily get bored watching

1811 Georgian Town - a superior style guest house

Advantages: Stunning house, high quality, diets catered for, excellent service, slept like a log

...I dont normally stay in guest houses unless in South Africa or Canada where the B&B style is much different. There you expect luxury rooms, a home baked breakfast, good conversation and a great location. Have now found one in Central London that is completely to my taste. The 1811 Georgian Town house is exactly as it says on the tin - a Regency property that has been metriculouly restored to English Heritage standards. The property is not only grade II listed outside but so all authentic on the inside and why the 1811 Georgian Town House was selected for my business trip. Hats off to our host, I'm not the easiest of guests but she responded to every need without being flustered I'm lactose intolerant and vegetarian, dont like man made fibres and had too much to do in too little time. bears, otters, a mouse, a lemur and the moon

...huge that you doubt if he can get in the big blue house without knocking its roof off, but somehow he manages it. He’s the daddy in the house, although quite how he came upon the other animals is never revealed. He’s comforting, always good for a hug, knows how to diffuse arguments, can think of fun things to do, and makes a great triple-berry pie. His big nose likes to smell the viewer at the beginning of each programme, and his trademark line “Whats that smell?” leads to him telling you that you smell of freshly baked cookies/fresh milk/pancakes and icecream or something else along those lines. Always comforting to know you smell as good as a baby, even when you are 25. Bear is a great dancer, and singer, and does a mean rap. (honest!) He is famous for his Bear cha cha cha and his advice on potty training is a big hit with parents. Ojo...

...Hello, it is I, Travis, back again for my second opinion on Ciao. Last time I wrote I did about the bear in the big blue houses dancing Toy. Now I am writing about the thing that started Bear off, the immortal show, Bear in the Big Blue House. I first started to watch Bear when mummy changed over from Sky Digital to NTL. The nasty people at Sky charged us extra for the Disney channel so mummy didn’t pay it. Now that we have changed, Daddy gets the Movie Channels so we get it as an extra! YAY! Matty says that it is made by some one called Jim Henson (He made a show called ‘The Muppets’. Was it about Matty?). He is meant to be famous for animal puppets. As long as he keeps bear, I don’t care about the others. I watch Bear at 9:30am, Noon and 5:30pm on Disney Channel but I also have the option to watch it on Channel 5 8am weekdays...
