A Bee and A Human???

...Bee Movie is one of the newest in a string of modern computer animated movies. Born from the comic genius that is Jerry Seinfeld (producer, director, actor) it is unlike the other films in the genre due to the slightly odd sense of humour we've come to expect from him. The synopsis Barry Benson is not your average Bee. Unlike his family and friends, he doesn't want to be a anonymous worker stuck in the same mundane job for the rest of his life. So on the day of his graduation, just as he has to pick the career he will stay in forever, he decides he wants to see the world outside the hive, and asks the Pollen Jockeys (the front line of honey making!) to take him with them on their next trip outside. Bee Movie

Advantages: Very cute, pretty world, funny jokes, appeals to all ages

...As a fan of animated animal movies such as Happy Feet and Finding Nemo, I was pleased to see adverts for Bee Movie - it just looked so cute, of course I had to give it a try! In case you couldn't guess from the title, Bee Movie is based around, well, bees. More specifically, it is about a young bee called Barry who just can't decide what he wants to do with his life. It is traditional for all of the bees to only work in one job for their entire life, and he just can't choose which area is right for him. He decides to give pollen collecting a go, however whilst out collecting pollen he gets trapped in the rain and ends up inside a human house where everybody tries to kill him - with the exception of a woman called Vanessa who saves his life. And, somewhat oddly, he ends up falling in love with her. He begins to visit her frequently...

Burt's Bees

Advantages: Softens, smoothes, hint of colour
Disadvantages: Effects don't last that long

...I've often looked at Burt's Bees products and thought they must be good with all their natural ingredients, so I recently made my first purchase from them - a Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil, which cost me a measly £3.49 from Boots. The lip balm comes in the usual stick form with a twist-up action like a lipstick. The tube is yellow and it has a pink pull-off lid. The stick contains 0.15oz, or 4.25g, of product, which is pretty much average for a lip balm. Burt's Bees say that this replenishing and hydrating natural lip balm is infused with the antioxidant goodness of pomegranate oil. It replenishes moisture to reveal smooth, healthy lips, while it coats them for an even-toned appearance. The balm is quite solid and waxy but when it's applied to the lips it goes on smoothly and feels pleasantly smooth...

Review of Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm

NAD C315 BEE

Advantages: Powerdrive-S technology, No genre preference, Great sound quality, Very low distortion
Disadvantages: no phonogram (record player) input

...The NAD C 315 BEE stereo integrated amplifier beat the Cambridge Azur 340A SE when the british magazine hi-fi world put them against one another. The C315 BEE received 5 globes out of 5 (in Jan 2008 issue). Sound quality is incredible at this price. Performs beyond specs due to Powerdrive-S and Soft Clipping. Great stereo separation. In my opinion this is by far the best stereo amp at this price! Better than Denon 500 PMA and Cambridge 540A SE. If you want a good amp do yourself a favor and give this a listen. Beware this is a Stereo integrated amp, so there is no surround. Good Bass. Tone Defeat switch so you can bypass the Treble and Bass control circuits if you're not using them. There is also a Balance control but like the Bass and Treble control you probably don't need them. Bass has a slight bloom, not enough to be...

Review of NAD C 315 BEE

The bees knees!

Advantages: soft skin, gorgeous scent
Disadvantages: none!

...I've tried looooooooooads of different cleansers in my time, but this one is definitely the bees knees (!) I like the ethics of the company too. You can read about it on other reviews or on Wikipedia. I originally got the cleanser in a starter pack, but I've now got the full size. It costs around £11.50 which seems quite expensive, but you don't need to use much. The Cleanser The cleanser itself is (as someone else describes it perfectly in their review) a sort of greasy orangey cooured gel with a delicious orange aroma. There are directions about how to apply it. I just gently rub it onto wet skin and rinse it off - nothing fancy!. Before I used this cleanser, I had problem skin - I always had spots. When I used this cleanser, it had immediate effects. My skin felt smooth and clean and it still has the same effects now...

Advantages: A hadnful of decent gags.
Disadvantages: The animation feels mediocre and the writing and performances are bland.

Bee Movie

Advantages: Some funny moments, Colourful
Disadvantages: No Stand-outs

..., mainly based on nice plays with words instead of visual gags. So in that sense I think that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The story moves along at a good pace, with enough 'key' events happening every so often to keep me interested. I wasn't really thinking to far ahead in the movie, so for me the storyline wasn't predictable. I find it is better to not think ahead in animations as it can be very easy to predict the ending so watching it more from a child point-of-view (not having much knowledge of how movies generally turn out) will increase your enjoyment of the movie. As is usually the case in most animations the best character isn't part of the main cast. For me "Bee Movie" is no different, with Mooseblood played by Chris Rock my favourite character. To Bee or not to Bee

Advantages: Amazing graphics, good sound and storyline

...Warning contains a spoiler! An amazing movie - there is some stunning footage (ok drawing) of life as a bee here.I was amazed at how realistic a job they have done of creating a film about a Bee. This is a story that has never been touched before and Dreamworks have done a fantastic job in animating this film. The storyline is of a Bee who falls in love with a human after she saves him from being swatted, this sets off a chain of reaction which ends up with the main character taking the Human Race to court for stealing honey. This has an unexpected impact which affects the whole ecological system, and all the ramifications of what could happen if bee's didn't do their job. Bee Movie offers a never before seen journey into the heart of a bee hive and shows what life for a bee is like, from a cartoon angle. To be honest I'm sure...

Bee Movie: a film for all the family!

Advantages: Great for all the family! Funny, great company!!

...I have always loved Dreamworks films, like Disney Pixar, I find them really funny, especially as they're normally about talking animals who have no idea about real life, much like this film!!! Bee Movie is well about Bees, who knew such a funny film could be made about bees, those honey making black and yellow flies!!!! Barry the Bee (Jerry Seinfield) escapes from his hive, where he gets into a spot of trouble, when a human almost kills him and his wife Vanessa saves him, he gets an unhealthy obsession with speaking to her, but its against Bee law. But when he does pluck up the courage to speak to the human, Vanessa (Renee Zellweger), he discovers he is not only madly in love with her, but also that a travesty is happening...the humans are STEALING their honey!!!! Barry decides he wants to sue the human population for this...

WAY Bee-low par.

Advantages: Looks good
Disadvantages: Weak plot, even worse science

...CAVEAT/WARNING! Let me warn you in advance I am going to ruin the plot, mainly to debunk the science but also to save you a precious few hours of your life by helping you not waste them watching this movie. Bee Movie looks pretty but is incredibly low on plot and storyline. Take the idea that a bee (called Barry) whose just graduated (with a very weak joke about the shortness of the bee lifestyle) and is about to choose his job and place in life but decides he's unhappy with his life. But hang on! He HASN'T even GOT a life yet! So how can he be unhappy with it? Nope, he's unhappy at the prospect of his life. So big deal, so are over 90% of the working population! Live with it! So Barry goes out with the fliers, sees the outside would and meets and is saved by a human who he talks to breaking 25 million years of tradition. Hmmm...
