Firstly there are the options that you have during a game theses are: Call: A bet exactly equal to the highest bet made by the preceding player to stay in the play. I would only call a bet if I thought that I could make a hand. Fold: A player discards his hand and gives up his chance of winning the pot in this play. I would normally fold when I only have a small high, with no chance of making anything out of it. Raise: A bet equal to the highest bet made by any of the preceding players plus some extra amount.
