...Everyone has an opinion on Big Brother, regardless of whether you watch it or not. For some, it's entertaining. For others, it's pointless TV, watched by idiots, which is taking up time and money which could be used on other shows. ~~~ What's it About ? ~~~ Basically, a group of everyday people are put into a house which is completely covered by televsion cameras and microphones. The show then runs for a number of weeks (10+). The contestants participate in daily tasks which they must complete in order to gain a reward. They also get a main task which covers a few days, which depending on their performance, either earns them a food budget to buy what they like from the shopping list or earns them rice and other basic food. Big action, big fun

Advantages: Great for imaginative play, sturdy and brightly coloured, Made by fisher price
Disadvantages: expensive for one toy. Quite large so a big room is needed

...Fisher Prices’ Big action garage is one of the best children’s garages I have seen on the market to date. Although a little pricey for a child’s toy at £54.97 it really is money well spent. The garage comes in a box with home assembly required, this was a little daunting as the instructions came in an A4 booklet! However it took roughly half an hour to assemble and was relatively easy once I got going, everything you require is included with the exception of a Phillips screwdriver. The garage itself comprises of a ground floor level with barriers and petrol pumps, the second floor level leads onto the long spiral ramp as does the top floor level. ...I'm a fan of Bill Bryson. I like his dry, acerbic wit, and the way he bombards the reader with lots of dry facts yet manages to still keep it entertaining. The latest book of his I read (although not the latest written), was Notes from a Big Country. As I said, delivering trivial facts and figures in an amusing fashion is Bryson's forte and when those facts are about the land of his birth (USA), and are compared then related to his once adopted homeland (UK), I can visualize him virtually drooling at the prospect. The Big Sleep

Advantages: (+) outstanding read (+) excellent and creative/unique plot (+) addictive
Disadvantages: (-) extremely confusing and difficult to keep track of (and to summarise in the review!)

This is actually the first Chandler novel to feature Philip Marlowe, the famous detective. Not solely this, it was also awarded the TIME magazine award for Best 100 novels 1923-2005. The novel begins in mid-October. ...Well two weeks into starting school my middle son was excited as he got to bring his first reading book home but the following day he was more excited as he got another book bag which had a few reading books in for him to keep! Naturally when we got through the door we had to sit and read them together. The cover of this book s red and has a picture of a big gorilla on the left hand side wearing a suit and the title on the right hand side in nice big bright multicoloured letters. In the beginning the game controls will take some time to learn but soon you will be ripping perfect fast balls at the hitter. Once you get the swing of the hitting you will be able to hit the elusive home-run. The key to The Bigs is to get the right player, be it pitcher or hitter to the plate, so check your player stats. Game play, sound and graphics is sweet and nicely rendered but the computer player can be tough to beat.
