Review of The Blind Side (DVD)

based on a true story: the blinde side

Advantages: the cast, the plot
Disadvantages: none really

...As soon as I seen this film had Sandra Bullock in I knew I had to watch this film I think she is an amazing actress. The blind side was released in 2009 and directed by John Lee Hancock it is based on a true story its a very emotional story. The story is set in Tennessee and based around Michael Oher he obviously has a troubled background but all is not clear at the start of the film. He has to go to school but doesn't want to learn that is until he meets Leigh Ann Tuohy (Sandra Bullock)who takes him in and gives him a place to stay and for once a real family. The film shows how he succeeds in school and life and and how anything is possible. This story was very heart warming I thought Quinton Aaron was great in his role as big mike he really made you feel for the troubled life he'd had. I cant believe this story is true I think its...

Review of Blind Side , The (DVD)

The blind boy with the blues

Advantages: Unique vocals and guitar playing
Disadvantages: Too many different versions of the same song

...Blind Lemon Jefferson is not only one of the earliest blues artists but he also has a completely different style from his Mississippi contemporaries, hailing from Texas -he is one of the first examples of the Texas blues, lacking the flashy guitar skills of the Delta gang, few people seeked to imitate his style at the time, although he was definitely an influence on T-Bone Walker who supposedly helped him find his way as a youth. A big supposedly blind character (who had at one time also been a wrestler), he played lengthy gigs in down and out dives before being picked up by Paramount records. This album covers just about all of the artists work and it's more than ample, personally one CD at a time (there are 4) is enough for me.
