THE BLUE OYSTER BAR
Advantages: Tackleberry on the rifle range
Disadvantages: Sequels 4-6
...the Blue Oyster Bar which is always key in a scene in almost every one of the Police Academy films.
The acting for a comedy series is surprisingly good. Bubba Smith in particular manages to surprise. He plays Hightower, a florist who's generally a nice guy unless you push the wrong button. One nice little scene is where Mahoney helps Hightower learn to drive. It's funny but also kind of heartwarming in its own little way. Michael Winslow also uses his sole talent(he can do some amazing things with his voice) to use as he plays the wisecracking voice-throwing Larvel Jones. Steve Guttenberg manages to make us like him despite the troubled past his character has. Gaines and Harris of course are quite good as the commadant and chief captain at the academy. There are also other actors and characters who do a nice job. My favorite character in...

The Oyster Bar
Advantages: laughing at the fashion junkies
Disadvantages: difficuly in being seated at weekends, no resevation service
...Possibly the best place to eat lunch in London and well worth venturing past the the 'W.1.s' to check out.
The name Oyster Bar does a great dis-service to this brasserie style restaurant, as the thought of oysters slipping down the neck often peturbs the enfamished shopper who chooses to pass by the opportunity to sample some of modern europes finest cusine.
On arrival at the corner of Fulhams' Brompton cross your eyes will lead you directly to the remarkable Michelin House, an oddity in the Chelsea red brick, yet a building you will instantly adore or find plesantly comical at the very least. Built in 1911 to the design of Fanciose Espinassé,a former Michelin employee, and houses; The Coran Shop (basement and ground floor),Bibendum Restaurant(first floor), Oyster Bar(ground floor) and Coffee bar(main enterance) of which...

Oyster Card
Advantages: Convenient
Disadvantages: You could lose it!
...We Londoners are insistent people. We want cheap travel to anywhere in one of the biggest cities in the world. We want it regularly, without delays and seven days a week?if possible. Not too much to ask then?oh and we want a convenient travel card rather than paying with cash for each individual journey. Of course.
Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the Oyster card then. For those who don?t live in London or perhaps have never even stepped foot in the capital, the following paragraphs may read like absolute gobbledegook, but trust me, I think I know what I?m talking about and I think it makes sense.
The Oyster card is basically a form of electronic ticketing used on public transport ? buses, some National Rail trains, trams, underground and the Docklands Light Railway system within Greater London. The blue card, which costs just a £3...

The World is your Oyster
Advantages: Great, handy
Disadvantages: Doesn't always swipe first time
...and so is small, handy and easy to use.
The card itself is a bright blue colour and has the word Oyster written on it. I have always wondered why the name Oyster was chosen and after a little research found out it was because of this:
?Oyster was conceived and subsequently promoted because of the metaphorical implications of security and value in the component meanings of the hard bivalve shell and the concealed pearl. Its associations with London through Thames estuary oyster beds and the popular idiom 'the world is your oyster' were also significant factors in its selection as was the uniqueness of the word Oyster.?
The Oyster card is classified as a contactless smartcard which is activated by passing it over special electronic readers on the gates to gain access to the transport system. These gates are basically the barriers that...

BLUE SKIES AND CLOUDS IN THE BATH
Advantages: smells great, moisturises and leaves skin feeling soft
Disadvantages: some may dislike the cinnamon aroma
...to try out I am drawn to the products which are either bright pink or purple in colour; mainly because pink and purple are my favourite colours and they look all girly and feminine.
There are lots and lots of different products available in Lush stores or online, so you are sure to find a product which suits you. If you are unfamiliar with the sort of products Lush sell then I would advise having a look online as they sell solid and liquid shampoos, bath bombs, bubble bars, etc. Some of the Lush products however aren't available to buy in store, you have to buy these particular products online from the Lush website. The products which are solely only sold online at Lush are called Lush retro products and there are quite a few of them to choose from, some of my most favourite Lush products are from the Retro range.

Fancy an Oyster?
Advantages: Cheapest mode of travel in London
Disadvantages: Big brother, not good for tourists.
...What is an Oyster card?
Basically it is a London travel card enabling the traveller to get around London without constantly buying tickets for the different modes of transport available.
It can be likened to a credit card; however the difference being, you pay up front and charge the card before use, almost identically to a pay-as-you-go phone card.
Transport for London hereafter referred to as tfl, call it a smartcard. I think it was very smart for tfl to launch it as they cost £3.00 to obtain. A very clever ploy to put a lot of money into the coffers of their bank account. The money is refundable if you return the card when you no longer need it, but who can be bothered with all the rigmarole of that.
To obtain a card you need to fill in a registration form at a station, tfl oulet, or Oyster card shop. This records highly...

No Blues Here
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...The Blue Bar was the first night spot to open up in Liverpool's trendy Albert Dock. The décor inside is a mixture of exposed brickwork arches that are the legacy of the Albert Dock and beech, glass and stainless steel which form the backbone of any trendy interior. The rear half of the bar looks out through a glass façade onto the Albert Dock itself and offers an impressive vista for a civilised drink. For those pleasant summer evenings there is also some limited seating available outside.
Upstairs is the Blue Bar and Grill restaurant which I have reviewed elsewhere but should be paid a visit to. There's an interesting touch as far as the toilets are concerned. Although the toilets are separate, the washroom is unisex.
This is an upmarket bar and as such is frequented by many celebrities such as the cast from Brookside, Hollyoaks...

The Blue Mountains
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: nothing
...This next review is on my time on The Blue Mountains National Park, located in Sydney Australia. A few friends and I had decided to hire a van and take a tour of the national park, as we had been recommended it by several people we had met along the way. I am usually a fan of national parks; it gives you a chance to take in the scenic view, it gives you a chance to relax and unwind if you have had a busy week, and you even get to see some wildlife. It?s a great experience, which allows you to camp overnight, whilst also have a magnificent driving experience.
History & Park Info:
The park covers 267,954 hectares, which included several mountains and rivers along the trek. The highest point of the park is Mount Werong (1,215 m), and there are some breathtaking views from the top. The area became a national park in 1932, and ever since...

Cheer up from those winter blues
Advantages: Stylish, impressive and a great drinks list
Disadvantages: Some of the guest
...The Blue Bar is a London institution that really is worthy of the acclaim it regularly receives.
Within the impressive Berkeley Hotel and situated in the best part of Knightsbridge, the location is convenient for after work drinks or even for a late evening post-theatre/dinner stop-off on the way home.
Designed by David Collins (the man behind the design of top bars and restaurants including The Wolseley), the style is akin to something one would imagine to be found on 1930s ocean-liner and the crocodile skin floor and stylish (yet somewhat uncomfortable) furniture do make for a special atmosphere.
The drinks list is expensive yet impressive with drinks starting at around £9 for a G&T and £6 for a beer but it is cocktails where this bar excels. All the usual classics are accompanied by some Blue Bar specials.
Food is not...

London (Well, SOME of It) Is Your Oyster
Advantages: Convenient, cashless travel, discounted rates still quite expensive
Disadvantages: Having Ken know where I go, not yet universal across all ex-BR stations
...I'd held off from buying a London Oyster card for several reasons, not the least of which is that I thought they were only for season ticket use, and as my need to use London's buses and Underground trains was minimal, say, three of four times a month, this ruled me out, or so I imagined.
True, you can use your Oyster card as a season ticket; a friend of mine does, but as I now know it can also be used as a Pay-As-You-Go payment card, with certain advantages over real cash.
A PAYG OYSTER? HOW'S THAT WORK THEN?
The TfL (Transport for London) Oyster card is a mainly pale blue credit-card sized smart card, although there is no outward sign of a microchip. To enter the TfL* travel network, you touch it onto or slide it over one of the myriad yellow card reading points that have sprung up in recent years, either at the entry door...
