Stick to pure tea tree oil and save your face
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Scrub by
cladach29
Advantages: Nice smell, nice packaging
Disadvantages: Poor exfoliator, expensive
...fresh and tingly after washing, I did not persist in using it as it did not improve my skin and if anything actually made it worse. I think there is some debate currently about whether exfoliation really benefits acne and whether in fact it doesn't just exacerbate the problem. I switched to simply using a regular moisturising facial wash and applying Body Shop pure tea tree oil to problem areas, and my skin improved quite quickly.
---Value for money---
A bit pricey given that there are other facial washes, including exfoliators, which are cheaper. Currently is priced at GBP 3-4.
---Availability---
In all Body Shop outlets (UK and Australia).
---Summary---
Not a particularly good product for me, and not great value for money; perhaps best enjoyed by those who regularly use exfoliating face washes and are looking to try...

Sparkydog writes a negative Body Shop op..
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Scrub by
sparkydog
Advantages: Probably will fight spots, didn't use it enough to find out...
Disadvantages: ineffective exfoliation, rancid smell, doesn't foam well
...What's this? No surprise that sparkydog has finally cracked, reverted to type and gone back to writing a Body Shop product review, but a wholly negative review?
Well, I'm afraid so, though it might be useful to prove that I am not totally in love with all things Body Shop and don't mind criticising them when they come along with a stinker of a product- and never was a description more apt than "stinker" for a product than for this one!
It's not the distinctive scent of tea tree I object to. I actually bought this product because I've been very happy with the Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash in the same range- op will follow!
I wanted an exfoliant, which I find helpful to use once or twice a week- helps to keep the skin clear and when you get a good kind, you really can see a difference- the skin looks brighter and really clean, and all...

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Shampoo
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Shampoo by
helensahl
Advantages: Leaves hair and scalp feeling thoroughly clean, soft and shiny hair.
Disadvantages: Initially quite a strong smell.
...For the last two years I have had problems using various hair care products. I already have intolerances to many foods and various household products. But went on to develop an intolerance to the hair care products I was using. I constantly had a very itchy scalp and my hair was not in very good condition.
On the reccomendation of my nutritionist, I decided to try the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil shampoo, initially buying the smallest bottle, to ensure it suited me.
SIZES AVAILABLE
The shampoo come in three sizes, small, medium 500ml and large 1000ml. (Although I have only been able to obtain the large size in the factory shop).
PACKAGING
As with all the Body Shop products it comes in a plain basic bottle, with a flip top lid. The usual label with ingredients, the Body Shop logo and instructions on use.
You do...

The amazing purifying properties of T-Tree!
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash by
funkyfiend
Advantages: smooth, clear skin that feels and looks gooooood
Disadvantages: none, at £2.50 its totally spiffing!
...Tea Tree Oil has long been known to have amazing healing properties and has been found to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. Australian Aboriginals used the leaves from the actual tree to treat cuts and skin infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area.
As a person with sensitive skin, not particularly prone to spots but you cant always stop them dammit, i have been looking for a face wash/cleanser that would suit me for a long time. And being a great believer in the beneficial properties of plants and natural products, i went to the Body Shop and came across this wonderful bottle of skin goodness.
Just massage it into wet/damp skin to foam it up then rinse away and it leaves your skin feeling fabulously clean and clear deep down and really smooth and a great base to put foundation on well...

Tea Tree Oil vs Lavender Oil
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash by
whoareyou5
Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: Does sting slightly on broken skin
...Acne solutions. Basically, I occasionally get a bit of acne, as most teenagers do. Not very bad acne, but just a bit every week or two, especially if I'm a bit ill, or if I've had too many late nights. Having looked at all the treatments, from facial scrubs, too eating less fatty foods etc, the best solution seems to be to apply neat Tea tree oil to the specific areas. This is supposedly meant to seep into the skin and disinfect any bacteria that would result in a spot, blackhead or whitehead. In the same article which I read, it also said that Lavender Oil did a similar trick. I therefore used these, and tried them both out, usually alternating the two. It did have a noticable affect but I found the Tea Tree oil to be slightly better. It wasn't as 'harsh' on my skin, and for some reason I got it into my head that this was better...

Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash by
mareth
Advantages: clearer, cleaner, fresher skin
Disadvantages: may be unsuitable for some people

Since trying the tea tree facial wash, I have gone on to try other tea tree products such as the skin freshener, face mask, shampoo, body wash and soap....

Rub me up a tree
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Body Wash by
shazahmed
Advantages: leaves u feeling squeaky clean
Disadvantages: none
...When i walked into the body shop one day i was determined to sort out one problem. blemished skin. not only did i have a few blemishes on my face, i also had blemishes on my chest but especially on my back. the helpful assistant directed me towards the tea tree range where she showed me this body wash. different people have different opinions on the smell of tea tree oil, but personally i like it. it smells really clean and herbal. but this body wash has added lemon to reduce the smell of the tea tree.
before i used this body wash i obviously read the label and it said that it'd leave my skin feeling squeaky clean and totally refreshed. i felt a little pessimistic due to the comment because i thought no product could actually do that. most labels lie anyway so i stepped into the shower in that negative frame of mind. however after id...

Free uses Tea Tree you see
Review of Radox Tea Tree Oil 100% Essential Oil by
freespirit1402
Advantages: Excellent all rounder, nice smell
Disadvantages: None
...I have not written an opinion for about a fortnight now as work has been manic and I am pretty much a comatose vegetable type figure on my days off so I thought I would use the time to catch up on reading some of the opinions from the people in my CoT. However, its late at night which is usually when I get the writing bug so I thought I would introduce you to a versatile and essential little friend of mine – Tea Tree Oil.
History
I cannot remember when I first heard of or used tea tree oil, but I think I was about sixteen and there was a tea tree facial scrub in body shop and I wanted something less chemical than most traditional scrubs so I decided to give it a go and found it so good that I looked into the oil a bit more and now it is used for various reasons by my whole family.
For those of you who are tea tree ‘virgins...

Tea Tree Oil The eighth wonder of the world
Review of Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil by
MagicWend
Advantages: Multiskilling.
Disadvantages: Price
.../Toning – If you use cleanser or a facial wash, you can add a couple of drops, as the cleaning power of tea tree is amazing at controlling spots and blackheads. Alternatively. If you use a liquid toner, add a couple of drops to this, for a refreshing tingle, but avoid your eyes.
Steaming – If you have a facial sauna or a Tefal steamer, you can have a therapeutic tea tree facial sauna, which is very cleansing and detoxifying. A few drops on a cotton wool ball or pad, placed in your steamer will do the trick. This is also excellent for coughs, colds, runny noses, as it is a decongestant as well.
Mouthwash – 5 drops in 25 ml of water will see off those germs and smells. This is also excellent for sore throats, and can be used as often as you like. Do not swallow, as this is poisonous when ingested.
It can be added to a base oil...

NICE AND CLEAN
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash by
kellyv43
Advantages: cleans and refreshes
Disadvantages: none
...I have tried so many different products on my face all claiming to be the miracle cure I was looking for to help get rid of my spots once and for all. I have tried clearasil face wash, oxy face wash and many more, but none of them really did much apart from dry out my face completely. Then one day I was having a look around the body shop and I came across their tea tree oil collection, which had many products including the face wash. I had to give it a go.
The facial wash comes in small see through bottles so that you can see the lime green colour of the facial wash. They come in a variety of different sizes 60ml,125ml and 250ml and the price depends on what size you buy. As I had never used the product before I decided to buy the smallest bottle which cost £2.50. The bottle has a black square on the front of it where it displays...
