But went on to develop an intolerance to the hair care products I was using. I constantly had a very itchy scalp and my hair was not in very good condition. ...fresh and tingly after washing, I did not persist in using it as it did not improve my skin and if anything actually made it worse. I think there is some debate currently about whether exfoliation really benefits acne and whether in fact it doesn't just exacerbate the problem. I switched to simply using a regular moisturising facial wash and applying Body Shop pure tea tree oil to problem areas, and my skin improved quite quickly. ---Value for money--- A bit pricey given that there are other facial washes, including exfoliators, which are cheaper. ...My sister bought me The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil Face Mask for Christmas, and I admit that it was one of the most satisfying beauty products that I recieved this year. The 100ml pot, a squashed cylindrical shape, is peppermint green in colour with a black lid. The instructions for use can be found on the underside of the pot. This clay-based face mask is designed for normal, oily or blemished skin. I have found that it works really well on my face because my skin is not the same all over, meaning that some parts are oily, another has blemishes, and the rest is normal. An improvement in my overall complexion can be seen immediately after I remove the mask. The mask is easy to use (probably very similar to most face masks.) I chose the Tea Tree Oil papers because they weren't powdered like the rest; I like to try to keep my skin as clean and make-up-free as possible to prevent blemishes. ...What's this? No surprise that sparkydog has finally cracked, reverted to type and gone back to writing a Body Shop product review, but a wholly negative review? Well, I'm afraid so, though it might be useful to prove that I am not totally in love with all things Body Shop and don't mind criticising them when they come along with a stinker of a product- and never was a description more apt than "stinker" for a product than for this one! ...Tea Tree Oil has long been known to have amazing healing properties and has been found to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. Australian Aboriginals used the leaves from the actual tree to treat cuts and skin infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area. As a person with sensitive skin, not particularly prone to spots but you cant always stop them dammit, i have been looking for a face wash/cleanser that would suit me for a long time. And being a great believer in the beneficial properties of plants and natural products, i went to the Body Shop and came across this wonderful bottle of skin goodness. Just massage it into wet/damp skin to foam it up then rinse away and it leaves your skin feeling fabulously clean and clear deep down and really smooth and a great base to put foundation on well... ...Acne solutions. Basically, I occasionally get a bit of acne, as most teenagers do. Not very bad acne, but just a bit every week or two, especially if I'm a bit ill, or if I've had too many late nights. Having looked at all the treatments, from facial scrubs, too eating less fatty foods etc, the best solution seems to be to apply neat Tea tree oil to the specific areas. This is supposedly meant to seep into the skin and disinfect any bacteria that would result in a spot, blackhead or whitehead. In the same article which I read, it also said that Lavender Oil did a similar trick. I therefore used these, and tried them both out, usually alternating the two. It did have a noticable affect but I found the Tea Tree oil to be slightly better. It wasn't as 'harsh' on my skin, and for some reason I got it into my head that this was better... Read review

...it on neat, with about 2-3 drops using a cotton bud or tissue, or you an add about 5 drops to water, cold or warm, and then apply. Unfortunately, my body rejected my piercing and I had to take it out ad it kept swelling a couple of weeks after the swelling before went down. It’s only supposed to swell once but mine carried on swelling! The Tea Tree did help the swelling a lot though. CLEANING: Tea Tree is very useful for cleaning because of it's anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. The best place to use it is on wall and floor tiles, but also on marble, such as kitchen work tops. If you have mould or stuck on dirt and grit, you can put about 10-15 drops of the Tea Tree oil into warm water, wet the cloth/sponge and wipe. For floor tiles, it is easier to put the Tea Tree Oil directly onto the tiles, and leave for 5-10 minutes... Read review
