Reviews of the brady bunch
Here's A Story...
Review of The Brady Bunch - Series 1 DVD by
Shroud
Advantages: wholesome and high quality family entertainment aimed right at kids aged 6-12
Disadvantages: argh..the laugh track...
...Forget what you think you know, especially if all you have seen or heard about the Brady Bunch are the film parodies. This is the pure, unadulterated family TV show aimed at families. Actually, it is aimed at the CHILDREN in families, and is told from the children's point of view. This was a pretty radical concept at the time, and as a result it did merely okay in the ratings when it ran its first five year course on prime time TV. When it went into syndication however, and landed the late afternoon slots that meant children coming home from school and needing a vegging out break caught it, it hit its stride and quickly became the iconic show that was so well beloved, it just HAD to be parodied, all in good fun of course!
The premise of the show was quite simple. In 1965, divorce levels were rising to previously unprecedented levels...

The blood sucking Brady bunch
Review of The Lost Boys DVD by
dave27
Advantages: Sutherland and the songs
Disadvantages: Max
...and epic lines: "Holy shit, it's the attack of Eddie Munster ... the blood sucking Brady bunch."
‘The Lost Boys’ was directed by Joel Schumacher who was the guy who took over the Batman movies from Tim Burton and he does a fine job, moving everything with a verve and a pace that is stunning. The film was released by Warner Brothers back in 1987 and it’s a very stylish, modern take on the vampire legend.
It tells the tale of Lucy Emerson Dianne West) and her family. She has recently got divorced and she moves with her sons Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) from Phoenix in Arizona to the weird little town of Santa Carla, where there’s a fair bit of adjusting to the pace to achieve before they can settle down. The family move in with Lucy’s father (Barnard Hughes), a pretty eccentric old guy whose...

Bunches? Bunches of what?
Review of bunches.co.uk by
ChemicalRomance
Advantages: Pay extra and you are guaranteed delivery..
Disadvantages: the amount of flowers you get for your money..
...on Bunches.co.uk.. I think it was the offer of free chocolates that made me look twice at this company.. However in the cold light of morning it perhaps shouldn't have been the reason to sway my decision..!
Bunches.co.uk
Well I will say one thing about this website is that it is nicely spread out and placed on the webpage so you can find everything you are looking for from the classic, lower prices bouquets to the more luxurious and expensive ones and also helium balloons if you want that kind of thing attached to a bouquet..
The website is obviously a little feminine, because stereotypically flowers are for us women..
So needless to say the website is flowery, the top graphics are the company logo, bunches.co.uk with the 'U' of bunches holding a tiny bouquet of flowers. The overall characteristics of the website are a little...

Bunches! What Bunches!?
Review of bunches.co.uk by
jayandfoo
Advantages: Accept phone or internet orders, wide range, cheap prices, ease of ordering
Disadvantages: My particular flowers not as expected..
...For my Mother-in-Law's birthday recently, Jay and I decided to do something a little different, rather than just buy her the usual quota of chocolates and smelly stuff. We decided to get some flowers delivered to her, but I hadn't a clue where from. I knew I wanted to place the order online, purely for ease of use, but didn't know where to start. I had heard of Interflora, but after seeing their prices, decided against ordering with them.
So, my next step was a quick search with Google. I simply typed in 'Flowers delivered' and bunches.co.uk was one of the first websites that I saw so I decided to have a look.

Review of The Dilbert Bunch - Scott Adams by
Treks
Advantages: It's Dilbert!
Disadvantages: A little short. Perhaps a little too expensive for a small thirty page book.
...since.
The Dilbert Bunch is based more than a little loosely on the Brady Bunch TV series. The front cover of the small hardback book displays the Brady Bunch signature three by three cube set of character portraits of eight of the most popular Dilbert characters.
Ratbert, the proudly-optimistic, eternally-looking-on-the-bright-side, nothing-gets-me-down rat.
Dogbert, the often-sadistic, multi-millionaire, former dictator general of the country of Elbonia dog.
Wally, the engineer who makes a living out of not working, is always busy doing nothing, cynical Dilbert's team mate.
Alice, the woman's lib champion, not afraid to bust some noses, hard hitting and straight talking Dilbert's team mate.
The Pointy Haired Boss (PHB), the personification of just about every bad idea management have ever had, and just as clued in to what...

Best of a Decent Bunch
Review of Homefall (Last Legion 4) - Chris Bunch by
Soho_Black
Advantages: An entertaining read
Disadvantages: A weak ending
...I approached "Homefall", the fourth and final part of Chris Bunch's "The Last Legion" series with a slight feeling of trepidation. Over the previous three books, the Legion has been in the kind of action you would expect an army defending a remote planet vulnerable to attack to be in. In all cases, the books have been thoroughly enjoyable fast paced action novels.
However, the end of "Stormforce", the third in the trilogy, didn't exactly build "Homefall" up to be as exciting. I approached this book thinking that they would be veering away from war and into the political side of the galaxy. I wasn't really looking forward to this, as when Bunch dipped a toe into the waters of Musth politics in "Firemask", it took the edge and the pace off the novel. I was worried that the same thing would happen here, but I was swiftly proved...

Thanks a Bunch!
Review of bunches.co.uk by
kingfisher111
Advantages: great fresh flowers, good value
Disadvantages: none!
...I love sending flowers to people especially when it is a surprise for them. Lately, my mum has not been very well at all and because she lives over 200 miles away it has been quite difficult to get to see her so every so often I send her some flowers to cheer her up - and it always seems to do the trick.
I have ordered from quite a few on line florists in the past but I seem to keep coming back to bunches.co.uk as it does seem to be the best value with a very reliable service.
When you first visit the bunches.co.uk site the homepage does seem a bit busy and cluttered but you soon learn to find your way around. The flowers are offered in a variety of categories. Some of these may vary with the different seasons and occasions throughout the year but some do remain the same. At the moment the different categories are:
Classic value...

A Bunch of Fun
Review of Firemask (Last Legion 2) - Chris Bunch by
Soho_Black
Advantages: An entertaining read
Disadvantages: Too much on the politics
...The first in Chris Bunch's "Last Legion" series was a fast paced far space shoot 'em up that drags the reader along for a wild ride. When I reached the end of that book I suspected that if he could keep up the fast pace for the rest of the series, it could be an exciting read. "Firemask" is the next in the series and gives me a chance to find out if my suspicions were correct.
Following directly on from "The Last Legion", life on Cumbre is calming down following the 'Raum uprising and life has returned to something approaching normal. On another distant planet, however, the Musth who fled Cumbre during the civil war now plan to return in greater numbers, with the intention of taking control of the system themselves.
The Legion are no more keen to be killed by Musth than they were to be killed by 'Raum, so they do what all good...

Beautiful bouquets from Bunches
Review of bunches.co.uk by
Kukana
Advantages: Low prices, excellent products, reliable, quick delivery
Disadvantages: Not a huge range of products
...I came across the Bunches site when hunting around for somewhere that would sent bouquets of flowers within the UK. Living mostly abroad, and not being terribly efficient, I often forget about family birthdays and other occasions until rather nearer the date than is possible to trust the international post. Besides, posting to the UK is very pricey, and for some people (and occasions) it's hard to know what to buy other than flowers.
I looked at the Interflora site first, since I knew the name, but was a bit horrified at the prices. So I used Google, which found me various options; I compared costs and the kinds of bouquets that were available, and the clear winner seemed to be Bunches.co.uk.
Of course it's always a little risky using an unknown site, but there was a little icon saying they were a Netbanx secure site...

Bunches - okay, but i doubt id use them again!
Review of bunches.co.uk by
L0u85
Advantages: Good customer service
Disadvantages: not very fresh flowers and rather expencive!
...I ordered some flowers from bunches a few weeks ago for my grandmothers birthday as I was away on holiday. On the day of delivery I phoned my grandmother up and asked her if the flowers had turned up and were ok. Unfortunatly they were not very good quality and at the price I paid they should have been perfect. I went for the Mont Blanc bouquet, the lilly being the feature flower. The lillies were not at all fresh and a few buds had been snapped right off. Most of the other lillies never opened. I contacted Bunches a few days after I got back off my holiday and complained that the flowers were not good enough. I was pleasantly surprised that they were very good about it and my grandmother got a fresh complimentary bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates with a note of apology the next morning....
