There IS life after a break up!
Review of Member Advice on Break-ups by  nadiawalton

Advantages: Finding your self again amongst the rubble
Disadvantages: The tears, the heartache and the feeling of being lost

...This is something i wrote in March 2005 to help me get all my feelings out onto paper. I hope this helps other people, only if it only helps them see my opinion and my feelings on break-ups!! A couple of months ago, I started a diary on the Life of a Squaddie Girlfriend. It was something where I could put all my feelings down and maybe one day share it with other people who were in the same boat. This is what will be going on the bottom of that to explain that when it gets tough, there is life after a break-up! I don't just mean breaking up from the army, but any break up. Its always hard, especially when you put all your trust and love into one human being, only to have it thrown back in your face when you least expect it. It is hard, being alone after a long time being with someone who you thought was your soul mate, but being... Read review

Breaking up is hard to do.
Review of Member Advice on Break-ups by  post-it-note

Advantages: Theres a new life for you somewhere
Disadvantages: Letting go of an old life is hard

...It doesn't matter how it happens, you can know its coming or not, it doesn't matter if you tried to do it but couldn't quite go through with it, it doesn't matter if it's a total shock - there is nothing like that moment of "I've been thinking.." followed by however its said, but essentially words meaning we need to break up. For the first week, or day, or hour (if you are really tough!) there's nothing you can do to make it better. Nothing. You are going to feel like the world is ending. Just ride that out, a different place is just around the corner. What I wish I had've done.. The hardest thing in the world is not contacting them. And the easiest thing in the world is making an excuse for contacting them. "But he has my book and I desperately need it" etc etc. On several occasions I did contact him, and we saw each other... Breaking up is hard to do
Review of Member Advice on Break-ups by  amandaaspinall

Advantages: Its for your happiness in the end
Disadvantages: Someone will almost always end up hurting

...Just recently I did one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life. I decided that my relationship with my husband, the father of my two children was finally over. I thought about the decision for weeks before I finally carried out the act. Would it have been easier to have a row with him and throw him out in temper – but we didn’t even row anymore, if we argued he would just give me the silent treatment until it had all blown over. Would it have been easier if he had broken up with me – most definitely, but I knew that I could have been waiting forever for that to happen. Should I have just ran away from the situation, up rooted my children and never seen him again – but that wouldn’t have been fair on any of us, especially the children. It wasn’t just hard to decide to break up with him but the timing was rather important... Read review

Break Up
Review of The Break Up (DVD) by  lesleyanne18

Advantages: Very Good
Disadvantages: Some Annoying areas - See within

...THE BREAK UP I am writing a review on the 2006 hit movie The break up starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughan. It’s the story of a couple Gary and Brooke who have been together for over 2 years, and after realising how unappreciating Gary is to her, Brook decides to break up with him. Not because she doesn’t love him, but to make him realise how much she does for him and without her there he will realise how he is treating her. However – the two are cohabiting in a luxurious condo which they have made up themselves and neither of them wants to move out so they came up with a solution - Brooke can have the bedroom for her own personal space and Gary can have the living room as his personal space. So the 2 are living together and she tries to make him jealous by pretending to date other men but he won’t crack. Gary just... Read review

The Break Up
Review of The Break Up (DVD) by  danfellowes

Advantages: Different, funny.
Disadvantages: could be a bit more to the plot...

...Note: Review for movie not DVD. ■The Movie■ The concept of the film was very simple a happy couple together enjoying life with one and other and then one day, something gets out of hand and they fall out, the break up, the end. Done. Review Over. ■The Story But of course it's not as simple as that! The film starts with a little clip of the two meeting followed by a lot of photo shots of their happy two years together so there's no wasting time really before the main plot of the film gets put into place which is good. The haste of getting to the actual breaking up shows that there is a lot to happen in the rest of the film which is always good. The scene is set in Chicago where Gary, a simp[le young man, works for the firm 'The Three Brothers' as a highly successful and much loved tour bus commentator... Read review

***The Rules of Breaking Up***
Review of The Break Up (DVD) by  fabulous_girl

Advantages: true to life
Disadvantages: a bit long

...The Break Up is a movie I have wanted to see for a while because it has the lovely Vince Vaughn in it, and I wanted to see what his on-screen chemistry is like with Jennifer Aniston as they are going out in real life, despite attempts to cover up their romance. The movie has been pretty much slated by film critics, but as you all know, I don’t pay attention to the likes of them, I like to find out for myself, be it a waste of time or not…. Brooke (Aniston) and Gary (Vaughn) are a couple who met at a baseball game when his wise-cracking ways charmed her into accepting a hot-dog, then a date. They now live together, share their friends, their hobbies and their lives. Brooke works in an art gallery and Gary runs a tour bus with his brothers. Then one day they have a big old fight over the washing up and Brooke dumps Gary... Read review

break ups
Review of Member Advice on Break-ups by  x_steffy_x

Advantages: shows who your real friends and family are
Disadvantages: losing someone that means alot to you

...Break up's are usually hard to deal with, I mean how can you start something that meant something special, then turn round and say that you can't be bothered with that person anymore? Sometimes, you're the one who feels that you can't go on anymore, and other times you are the ones being ditched and left outside alone in the cold. the worst thing to do is when you break up with someone dont make your self ill cause whats the point. trust me its not good for you as i found out the hard way. it hurts alot when you have been with someone for along time and i found the best way the deal with it is to give anything of their stuff back and to just get on with your life. the best thing is to have your friends and family by your side and talk to them about it. as i said i found out the hard way cause me and my boyfriend split up a while ago... Enjoyable break up
Review of The Break-Up DVD by  frankiecesca

Advantages: Great acting, most people will be able to connect with the story
Disadvantages: None

...I went to see this when it was in cinemas and liked it so much that when it came out on DVD I went straight out and bought it. The film was written by Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender and even Vince Vaughn did part of the story and the film was directed by Peyton Reed. The story: The film, hence the name, is about a couple who break up and how it effects both of them as they are still living in the same home together while they wait to sell it. However, neither of them really wants to make way for the other so there are lots of comedy moments during the film and it isn't all serious! The film also follows how it affects their joint friends as normally the group of them do everything together and as you can imagine this suddenly is an awkward position to be in when you don't want to offend either one of the couple... Who Said Breaking Up Was Depressing?
Review of Break Up Songs - Various Artists by  MagicGordon

Advantages: Just right to push you over the edge if you think there is hope!!
Disadvantages: Just when you think you're over it, this will drag you back down!!

...I stumbled upon this brilliant album today whilst visiting my sister - trust it to be in a woman's collection!! 'Break Up Songs' - Who said record companies don't have any scruples when it comes to sales?!!!! Imagine the scene: You've just broken up with your partner and you're at an all time low - c'mon we've all been there - so what's the first thing you do? Of course you stick on 'our' song!! Then you stick it on repeat and listen to it over and over and over and over - very loudly - until your flat mate/neighbour/family/police kick your door in and smash the CD player to pieces. However never fear, for now you can buy yourself a bit of time and play a whole album of songs that will have you reaching for the razor blades before the end of the first CD!! :) On the front cover there is a photo of a rather fetching young lass... Breaking up is never easy...
Review of Member Advice on Break-ups by  T21AMY

Advantages: Sometimes it is the best thing to do...
Disadvantages: It hurts...

...few weeks then he'd start getting all worried that he'd rushed into a new relationship too quickly and blamed himself for his break-up and we'd call things off. Well, for at least a day anyway and then we'd patch things up and off we went again. They say opposites attract and I have to say that was the only justification for Les and I got together. 12 years older than me, quiet, sporty - he was the total opposite of me and we didn't really have very much in common but somehow we also seemed to make time fly and slowly but surely started to find things we both enjoyed doing and the relationship bloomed. We did everything together - holidays, watching Liverpool at Anfield, travelling round the country for his triathlons, meals out, in fact we were inseperable. It is only now looking back that I realise the relationship that bloomed... Read review
