Capilano suspension bridge - Bridge of dreams
Review of Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park, Vancouver by
kent-ledger28
Advantages: Lots to see and do - Fascinating story
Disadvantages: might be seen as pricy
...If you want to get a feel of what life was like for some of those early pioneers (or entrepreneurs if you want to call them that) then you need to take a trip to the Capilano suspension bridge - I do have to say that I feel it is somewhat over priced (after all the scenery is free - and all around you) but I guess you are paying for all the research and the money - some of it does go back into local native projects and it is a good day out especially if you have Kids.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable day here just being tourists. Sometimes people who live in an area forget that visitors do not always have the time to go here there and all over the place to get the feel of a places history and they will pay (all be it grudgingly) to have it all presented with depth and enthusiasm to make it value for money. Which you get in spades...

Brooklyn Bridge ( in New York)
Review of Brooklyn Bridge, New York by
superbooks.org
Advantages: It's the most awesome bridge in the city!
Disadvantages: Needs more benches!
...Well, this is my Brooklyn Bridge! As I've been paying taxes here in this city forever and paying state and federal taxes, I'm sure that I own a great large part of the bridge but I'm willing to share it with everyone who dares cross it on good or bad days.
*****************
The Brooklyn Bridge could be an "all-day' trip for tourists who want to savor most parts of the city ---from afar. A traveler can cross the bridge and stand in the center of it and see awesome sites. One can see the South Street Seaport from the bridge and see it in a way that one doesn't see it if one is on land.
One can see the Watchtower buildings and their awesome God messages "READ THE BIBLE" , and one can see all the graffiti in the city at the tops of large buildings --again all in view as one passes through the city on that great...

The Charles Bridge
Review of Charles Bridge, Prague by
Jamie73
Advantages: Free entrance, beutifully built, historic attraction
Disadvantages: Can get very busy
...Charles Bridge is probably one of Pragues most recognised landmarks. For many years, Charles Bridge was the only way to cross the River Vltava that flows through the middle of the City. Nowadays there are many bridges connecting Old Town Prague and the New Town but there is still something very special about the Charles Bridge that makes it stand out from all the others.
Charles Bridge is an old stone gothic bridge which is lined with numerous statues of saints. The bridge was built from sandstone blocks and was commissioned by Charles IV, after whom the bridge was named, in 1357. Today, the Charles Bridge can only be crossed on foot, but with it being a very popular attraction in Prague, it is literally crammed with crowds of people all day long. There is no fee for crossing the bridge but tourists are invited to walk up the tower...

Alter Bridge - Wowifying!
Review of One Day Remains - Alter Bridge by
bendontgamble
Advantages: Original / rocking
Disadvantages: only 11 tracks, can't wait till new album this spring!
...I say this when I say with the deepest sincerity 'if you like rock music, buy this album'! Take my word for it, if you like rock music, treat yourself buy this album and you will not regret it! It's a superb addition to any rock music collection. The cover is stylish as well and the whole experience of owning and listening to this CD is superb. Flawlessly produced, this band is completely underrated and I want so many people to appreciate how good the album is!
Alter Bridge are a relatively new band who are made up of the old members of creed with a new singer. However the band are very different to creed in there music, much rockier (if that is a real word) and a more head - banging sound. Don't get me wrong I love creed but this sort of music is much more head bangingly foot tappingly better!
So before I tell you about the album...

The bridge of Saints and Stalls.
Review of Charles Bridge, Prague by
MAFARRIMOND
Advantages: Wonderful entertainment, fasinating architecture
Disadvantages: The statues are copies only
...No trip to Prague would be complete unless you take a walk across Charles Bridge (Karlov Most). Charles Bridge is the possibly Prague’s most recognizable landmarks: an old stone gothic bridge lined with numerous statues of saints.
The bridge connects the Little Quarter (where the Castle and St Vitus’s Cathedral stand) with the old town. Once upon a time, Charles Bridge was the only way to cross the River Vltava that flows through the city. Now of course, there are several bridges that span the river. Today Charles Bridge is pedestrian only. Considering that it is said that four carriages could travel side by side, the bridge now so crowded that it is hard to navigate. This is the only downside to the viewing the bridge; it is such a tourist trap that people congregate in groves.
We walked across the bridge after visiting...

The cute little chapel on Rotherham Bridge
Review of The Chapel of Our Lady on Rotherham Bridge by
micksheff
Advantages: Looks lovely, lots of history
Disadvantages: Very limited opening hours
...I find that there is something very cute about Chantry Bridge Chapels and if you have not yet been fortunate to see one it is difficult to explain exactly where their charm lies. Firstly, I suppose that I ought to explain just exactly what a Chantry Bridge Chapel is and more importantly I ought to tell you whereabouts you can find one, just in case by the end of this review I have stirred your curiosity just enough to try and seek one out or better still, if I have convinced you also that Chantry Bridge Chapels are indeed very cute and charming.
Chantry Bridge Chapels are miniature medieval churches. During the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th centuries several of these small places of worship were built but sadly only four of them have survived into the 21st century. Thankfully however each of the four remaining examples are in pristine...

Climb the Bridge, I dare you!
Review of Sydney Harbour Bridge by
Looby5
Advantages: Stunning Views
Disadvantages: Not cheap
...As many of you may know, I live in the beautiful harbour side city of Sydney, resplendent with its Opera House, magnificent city skyline and of course The Sydney Harbour Bridge or ‘The old coat hanger’ as it’s sometimes known. I used to live on the North Shore of Sydney and drove over the bridge every day, occasionally looking up and seeing some grey lumps on the side which on second glance appeared to be people. I was well aware of the ‘Bridge Climb’, an organised ascent of the bridge where you are strapped on to the bridge via a wire and led by a trained group leader. You climb up to the very top and have pictures taken and admire the breath taking view before climbing back down on the opposite side which gives you a superb city view. Despite my knowledge of the whole thing I’d never actually done it in three years of living here until...

Battle for the last bridge over the Rhine.
Review of The Bridge At Remagen DVD by
Blackcat01
Advantages: Good action movie, acting and presentation of characters.
Disadvantages: Fictional account based on historical facts.
...The Second World War was full of pivotal moments from the Battle for France, Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain, through to Stalingrad, Anzio and the Battle of the Ardennes in Belgium, each one of them has become famous for being a major turning point in the war against Hitler and Germany, however, the battle for the Remagen bridge, which was just as pivotal if not more so in many ways, has never really been given the credit it deserves and this movie, although based on fictional characters and units, does at least give it some credence.
In early 1945, the western allies had defeated Hitler's last major offensive and gamble, the Battle of the Ardennes ( or Battle of the Bulge as the US call it ) and were pushing deep into Germany from the north, west and south.
Hitler had sacrificed his best troops and equipment in one last...

Moust famous rail bridge in the world
Review of The Forth Rail Bridge by
dingoo
Advantages: staggering to see, great to travel over, great views, local pub
Disadvantages: cold wet and rainy
...The fourth rail bridge
The bridge and me
I have been to the fourth rail bridge a couple of times and over it once, it is a wonder of great Victorian engineering.
From its colour to its size it is a beast and quite ugly yet uncannily endearing, the colour draws you to it like moths to light bulbs, you can see the big cantilever frame from many miles around.
As you get ever closer you realize indeed how big and bigger feat it was to construct this daring/beast like entity, although it serves an less grand purpose of carrying trains in this day it was a mean feet in 1890 the year of its completion.
You also find it amazing near the bridge, the noise the cold and the salty smell; this bridge is out on a limb and ravaged by the elements.
We also know the famous painting theory of once one paint session is finished they have...

Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Review of Sydney Harbour Bridge by
natalierees
Advantages: Fantstic views, sense of real achievement
Disadvantages: Quite pricy, need to book
...One of the biggest tourist attractions in Sydney is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There it stands at the Quay Side all majestic and quite frankly massive. You can walk over the bridge as a pedestrian to get to the other side of the harbour. However why would you want to do that when you could climb the bridge!!!!!!!
I am not frightened of heights (I mean I have done a parachute jump for gods sake) but even to me this looked quite daunting. Its 136 metres above sea level and is one of the largest bridges in the world. There is a company called Bridge Climb that have based themselves there and basically they give you training and then you climb the bridge.
The Bridgeclimb is a totally professional affair and it costs $155 dollars (about 70 pound at the current exchange rate) to do it monday to friday or $175 dollars...
