Living in LIVINGSTON
Advantages: I live there
Disadvantages: That's an advantage?
...that Livingston was chosen as the site for a New Town - to help re-generate the area and also to settle the overspill from Glasgow's slum clearance programme. Livingston was the fourth of the five Scottish new towns created, and many would say it has been the most successful of them.
Today, the town of Livingston has taken over the mantle of administrative centre of West Lothian from it's neighbour, Linlithgow.
It covers around ten square miles of the River Almond valley between the Pentland and Bathgate hills. It lies at the heart of Scotland's Central Belt, within a few miles of Edinburgh Airport and adjacent to the M8 Edinburgh/Glasgow motorway. It's also served by two rail stations: Livingston South - on the Edinburgh/Glasgow line, and Livingston North - on The Edinburgh/Bathgate line.
With it's close proximity to the capital...

Livingstone - Zambia
Advantages: interesting with a huge amount of activities
Disadvantages: can be unwise to go out at night.
...If travelling to Zambia it is well worth your while to go down to livingstone. Buses travel very regularly from lusaka and many other places for a fare fee (around $20/k100000).
The journey takes about 6 hours.
Obviously the main attraction is Victoria Falls, and when going I highly recommend picking up a guide and walking about the falls and visiting the 'Angel's Armchair'. This is a once in a lifetime experience and one in which you can go right to the edge of the falls and look into the famous 'mosi-o-tunya'. To get around while there there is a plentiful supply of taxis and you shuold not pay more than K30000 (one-way) to get to and from the falls
Livingstone offers a diverse nightlife (by Zambian standards, which is pretty poor if your used to Westernized going out) but there are many bars with music that will go on till the very...

The Centre MK
Advantages: Vast range of stores
Disadvantages: Some duplicate stores
...This Review is for the Centre M.K which is a huge shopping centre in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
The shopping centre is managed in two parts, the first being the Centre MK and the second a place named Midsummer Place.
The actual opening date for the shopping centre was September 25th 1979 and has over 260 stores inside. This might have changed quite a lot since the current recession and stores shutting down.
This will be an insight to what the centre has to offer and what you can find there.
Opening Hours
Monday - Wednesday
09:30am -- 06:00pm
Thursday - Friday
09:30am -- 08:00pm
Saturday
09:00am -- 06:00pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays
11:00am -- 05:00pm
Layout
The centre is laid out extremely well. You walk in through a door which is numbered. This door is the way back to your car.
Every so often you find...

Hotel Livingston I presume
Advantages: Nice breakfast, excellent price
Disadvantages: In the middle of no-where, no bath, wardrobe or drawers
...We needed a cheap hotel to stay in whilst visiting Livingston (near Edinburgh) for a wedding recently, and one of the hotels on the list we were given was a Holiday Inn Express. I was very impressed with the one we stayed in for KarenUK?s wedding in Bristol (incidentally the venue for the Bristol meeting in June), so I decided to book 3 nights. Whilst on the phone I also registered for their ?Priority Club?, which gave me a few benefits (more on this later). So what did we get for our money?
?? LOCATION ??
Well, despite calling itself Holiday Inn Livingston, it is actually about 5 miles from Livingston, so if you want to be near the town itself, you would be better off with the Travel Inn. It is actually nearer to a smaller town called Bathgate, but still not actually in it. The hotel is about 15 miles from Edinburgh airport...

Victoria Centre Nottingham
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...Nottingham has two large shopping centres, the Broadmarsh Centre and the Victoria Centre, situated at opposite ends of the city centre .The Victoria Centre is the bigger of the two, containing 120 shops (not counting all the various stalls in the market area.)
Getting there is easy - if you drive, there's parking for over 2700 cars . If you don't drive, don't worry - almost all the Nottingham City Transport buses stop either directly outside the Victoria Centre, or within a few minutes walk of it . Other bus companies from slightly further afield, such as Trent Barton , terminate at the local coach station within the centre . If you're walking, the centre is signposted from various points in the city centre, and at the end of the day when you're weighed down with shopping, there are 2 taxi ranks directly outside the main entrance...

The Galleon Centre
Advantages: Good Value for Money, Swimming Pool
Disadvantages: Some of the staff's attitude
...I have been a member of a few gyms over the past few years including a small local gym in which you felt everyone was looking at you in and also Fitness First but usually I end up not using my membership as much as I should do. In February 2005 I decided it was time to get in shape and chose the Galleon Centre, a fitness centre which was another I had previously been a member of, as the place I was going to join this time. One of the reasons that I chose the Galleon Centre was the fact that I could get discounted corporate membership through my fiancee's work at the local hospital.
**SOME HISTORY**
The old Kilmarnock baths which is where I had learned to swim when I was younger had been deteriorating for years and in the mid 1980's Kilmarnock Town Council decided that a replacement was needed. At this point with the Council...

Job Centre fiasco
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Too many to mention
...Very briefly as the wife of a man who was made redundant the thought of the Job Centre plus being helpful no longer exists.
As a mortgage holder and family with two school age children my husband was only entitled to Job Seeks Allowance (JSA). This was paid for 26 weeks and then after still not successful in securing employment, this was stopped. Because I work more than 20 hours a week (I am still only part time) I am expected to support the family and bills. My husband has never been asked how much I earn. This assessment is merely done of the hours I work and not the take home pay coming into the home.
Having never claimed any benefits at all before this (but we are in a recession as you all know) we enquired about training and extra help, but, alas, there was no entitlement apparently. As you only receive 5 minutes...

Wembley Job Centre
Advantages: By signing on every 2 weeks you get some money.
Disadvantages: The staff are not very well trained.
...My experience at Wembley Job centre
I am 47 years old and have never claimed a penny in benefits in my life. I have worked since I was 17 only taking 6 months maternity leave for each of my 2 children.
When I was made redundant on 6th July 2008, the last thing on my mind was signing on for job seekers allowance. However as time went on and it was clear I was not going to be able to get another job that easily I realised I would have to claim job seekers allowance in order to help us pay the bills and eat each month.
I first registered my claim on or around the 9th September.
I called the free phone number to register the claim and I found them very helpful and efficient. (or so I thought at the time)
They made me an appointment to see an advisor at Wembley Job centre on 17th September.
As I walked into the building in St...

Livingston, Guatemala Central America
Advantages: Natural,peaceful,colorful etc.
Disadvantages: The town needs fire prevention equipments.
...For me Livingston is the place on hearth which is a true paradise. It is located on the Atlantic coastal area of Guatemala, Central America.
The people, and the ambience in general give a peaceful feeling that enlightens the soul. While in many ways it is a primitive place. One can feel the human elements which say this is all I need to be happy. The natural environment stands still even when foreigners,or locals might want to impose the modern life of large cities, they are held back, not so much by laws, but by the nature of the place that in silence says "enjoy me the way I'm".
Livngston is a place for romance, adventure and life in general. The Rio Dulce (Sweet River)a navigable fresh water river, which ends in Livingston, where it meets with the bay that connects it to part of the Atlantic Ocean,in my Opinion is the #8 wonder...

Dover Leisure Centre
Advantages: You don't need to be a member to use the facilities
Disadvantages: Certain parts may be shut due to private events
...Living in Dover means that we don't have too many facilities. Dover Leisure Centre is about the only sporting facility in Dover other than the football and rugby pitches.
Location
Dover Leisure Centre is located on Townwall Street in Dover which is pretty much on the seafront and within walking distance to the Port of Dover. It is also within walking distance of Dover town, Dover Priory Station and Pencester bus station.
Facilities
There are two swimming pools at Dover Leisure Centre. There is a main swimming pool which is 25 metres and also a learner / childrens pool. In the main pool, there are two lanes of the swimming pool which are sectioned off to create one slow, and one fast swimming lane.
The rest of the pool is then literally just open water where people can swim at their own leisure.
The smaller pool is much...
