...I picked up a copy of farm chase from my local library as I have loved the children's books written by Rod Campbell. He believes that children should be involved in story telling and therefore most of his books do have flaps. My son is very interested in animals particularly animals that he can make the sounds they make. It is a paperback book but relatively thick cardboard but if you have a child who likes ripping flaps off this book won't last very long. The story of the book is as expected with the title. It tells the story of a group of animals chasing one another around the farm. The book is in very simple language. It starts with the line "This is the angry bull that chased....." Each page has a large simple illustration which stretches over two pages. Other than a few tufts of grass the only other thing that can be seen...

Advantages: Good story, strong acting, funny, dramatic.
Disadvantages: Drifts slightly at the end.

...Dick and fart jokes. These are the basis for a Kevin Smith film. Whether one finds these funny or not will decide whether one can appreciate Smith?s work as a whole. It?s a shame then that when he attempts to produce something with a little more depth, it?ll generally be written off as more of the same by people who don?t really know the subject matter. Now don?t get me wrong, Chasing Amy still has dick and fart jokes. Not as many as Mallrats or Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, but they are there. ...The cover of this paperback edition is emblazoned ?The New Novel from the bestselling Richard and Judy Book Club author?. Personally, that just tells me that the author may have a popular and fairly accessible style and the book is likely to be modern fiction. I do know a lot of people who would be put off by the R&J reference, people who seem to conflate ?popular? with ?trash?. If they reached that conclusion and did not read ?Chasing Windmills? they would miss out on an enjoyable and engaging read. I have not read ?Love in the Present Tense?, an earlier book by this author and one of the books selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club. ...As a big fan of Kevin Smith i watched this film, and although many people have rated it i really don't see the problem. It's a love story with a gay girl being the main love interest. Ben Affleck, a cartoonist falls in love with her and we see their relationship change and grow. I suppose most of you reading this have seen Mallrats, Clerks, and Dogma and you do get as many laughs in this film as you do in those, except the fact that Chasing Amy is acompletely different genre, a romance film that are very hard to pull off. Silent Bob and Jay are as funny as ever, and Ben Afflecks best friend (head of the demons in Dogma, can't remember his name sorry)does a good job of playing the suddenly alone best friend. Advantages: Gripping plot line, excellent twists, "unputdownable"!
Disadvantages: You have to suspend disbelief completely! Characters are also very clearly totally perfect or totally evil
