Great hotel
Advantages: lovely rooms, nice food and fab facilities
Disadvantages: none really
...I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels only) and the complementary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits.
There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these).
The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which serves breakfast...

Queens hotel Bournemouth
Advantages: Great facilities and location
Disadvantages: Some rooms on the small side
...Getting there
Our family stayed at the Queen?s Hotel Bournemouth for 2 nights back in May 2007. The drive down from North London is 112 miles and took around 3 Hours 20 Minutes which included a 30 minute stop over. The Hotel is located on Meyrick Road, just a minutes walk from the sea front and a 15 minute walk to the Pier.
There is room for about 15 cars in the car park at the front of the Hotel, with room for a further 20 cars at the rear. This is free to use for guests and you give your car registration details when you check in. The hotel has 109 rooms and deluxe suites situated over 4 floors. There is a lift near the reception to all floors except lower ground which has just 6-8 steps, so the Hotel is ideal for the elderly.

A decent but basic 2 star hotel near Bournemouth Pier
Advantages: Good value for money and good location.
Disadvantages: Based on the price, none.
...I often stay in Bournemouth when visiting my Dad who only has a one bedroom flat.
I have tried a few hotels and this one was okay. When I stayed in the hotel in September 2008 the rooms were undergoing a refit and being modernised. I managed to stay in one of the rooms that has already been modernised and it provided a comfortable stay.
I paid £59 for a one night stay in a double room on a room only basis but this was still in high season. Room rates in low season are approximately £25 lower in price.
The room had an en suite bathroom with a bath that had a shower head and shower screen built on to it.
Their was an LCD TV screen mounted on the wall of the bedroom although the number of channels was fairly limited. Tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows and blankets in a cupboard. The room was warm, adjustable central...

Brooklands Hotel
Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: None
...our room which was lovely, and was also offered DVD's to watch. Overall we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. We will 100% stay at Brooklands Hotel again, and will recommend this Hotel to everyone.
I found the Hotel via the internet and booked our stay on line. It is cheaper to book direct with Brooklands Hotel, than it is to book on line. As many on-line companies do charge the Hotel?s from 10-15% commission ?finders fee?.
Brooklands Hotel offers a laundry service, fax service and also internet access.
Only one person has noticed that I stayed in room 29 but they only have 21 rooms.
Their room numbers start from No7 upto No29 but they don't have a No10 or No13.
How to get there:
By Road: -
Road links with Bournemouth are good with major routes being as follows.
London & East
M3, M27 & A3

Welcome to Sunny Bournemouth !
Advantages: Centrally located hotel in Bournemouth
Disadvantages: Old building means prone to squeaky floorboards
...I recently had to attend a course for work, which involved several overnight stays in Bournemouth. I opted to stay in the RAC rated **** Norfolk Royale Hotel, located in the central town area of Bournemouth. Arriving at the hotel, there is an area at the front where you can drive in and park whilst you check in. (You can also park in this area overnight, or in the underground carpark - each charged at £9 per night).
Checking in is straightforward - although you will need to leave credit / debit card details, but this is standard practice. Reception is in the lobby area - a plush, well furbished area with comfortable chairs, an open fire and a bar.
You will be given a keycard, and told where your room is. (On my visits, a porter service was not visable, although may have been available on request).
The hotel itself is quite old...

Best Hotel in Bournemouth
Advantages: Friendly and welcoming
Disadvantages:
...Bournemouth is NOT full of 'mature' people, it is an excellent place to holiday on the south coast. I am a 25 year old and have spent the last ten years holidaying in Bournemouth. The sea is lovely, sand golden and the entertainment and facilities provided by the local authority second to none. That also goes for Heathlands Hotel. Heathlands is situated on the East Cliff and within ten minutes walking distance of the town centre (although it is all up hill on the way back). There is an outdoor pool for use in the good weather. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend when booking that you request a room on the front of the hotel, as the back overlooks the kitchen area and it gets very hot in the back bedrooms! There is a really relaxed and homely feel to this hotel and I have returned there after trying other...

Ramada Encore Bournemouth - Customer Service Needs Improving
Advantages: Clean spacious rooms
Disadvantages: Customer service levels lets the hotel down
...The Ramada Encore in Bournemouth is a well placed hotel within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants as well as the beach and surroundings attractions. At the time of writing there are over 70 Ramada hotels in the UK.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN
The hotel was easy enough to spot from the main road as it has a large sign in front to indicate its presence. We drove into the car park at the rear of the hotel and managed to find a parking space. There were also guest parking spaces at the front of the hotel and underground parking available with a lift to bring you up to reception. The car park has around 80 spaces.
We were able to enter the hotel through the rear entrance and went to reception which was just a few yards away. There were two sets of people checking in but we didn?t have to wait as one set had just...

The Hedley Hotel with an exceptional Host
Advantages: Location, service, very friendly Host, own keys, Breakfast
Disadvantages: none
...OK its summer time and most of the people wish to go abroad, sunbath and relax on the beach. Some people might not be able to afford to go abroad and others might prefer to stay in the UK anyway.
I will make it easier for you to decide where to go - my friends and I wanted to stay in the UK but still have a wonderful time at the sea. After long thoughts and discussions we decided that Bournemouth is the place to go. It has a very long sandy beach (believe me you want sand and not stones like in Brighton), many nightclubs for the younger people, beautiful parks for older people or families; Bournemouth is not too big therefore places are in convenient distance - often only a couple of minutes of walk.
Ok let me tell you about the B&B - after a few phone calls we decided to go for the Hedley B&B because the owner was really friendly...

Bournemouth the east-side.
Advantages: Great spot, value for money, belt busting breakfasts
Disadvantages: Dated, not so friendly staff
...The Cliffside Hotel Bournemouth Dorset BH1 3AN England.
We as a family know Bournemouth pretty well, we have relatives there and it's not to far to travel.
We have stayed in many 3 star hotels(that all the budget will allow us) in and around the town. It's a great place for the kids it has great beaches shops and lots to do do.
So to the hotel.
We usually find ourselves on Westcliff side of the center, this time however, after much trolling online, we found ourselves on the Eastcliff side of town.
And having sieved through the fantastic chose of hotels, the Cliffside hotel seamed to be the one that was a. within our price range b. close to the beaches etc and c. had some nice pictures on it's website....oh dear....why do I always fall for C.
Don't get me wrong on arrival things indeed matched the photos I had seen online...

Peace and Tranquility in Shanklin Chine
Advantages: Peaceful and very cool on a hot day!
Disadvantages: Not suitable for wheelchair users
...Stepping into Shanklin Chine is like stepping into another world. Peaceful, tranquil and calm are words that spring to mind when I think back on my visits to Shanklin Chine, and I definitely recommend a visit.
**History and Location**
Shanklin Chine is located in Shanklin Old Village on the Isle of Wight. Shanklin is a small, historic seaside town, located next to Sandown on the Eastern side of the Island. Formation of the Chine or 'gorge' has taken place over 10,000 years. It's quite strange to think that you're walking through something that has taken so long to form! The word 'chine' means a deep, narrow ravine, and the word is now only used on the Isle of Wight and Dorset. Shanklin Chine drops down 105ft to sea level, and is just over a quarter of a mile long.
You can access the Chine in two ways. The first is from within...
