...From an early age, my friends and I were addicted to collecting TY beanies. For those of you who do not know (where have you been?), TY Beanies are a collection of little teddies in all forms of animals and teddy bears. Once you start a collection they are quite addictive. You find you are always looking for new ones and cannot stop buying them - havoc for your wallet, heaven for your collection! One of the Beanies is a fish, who goes by the name of Coral. Its such a beautiful name - I was obsessed with sea coral as a child so this is a delightful treat for me. Coral is very attractive to look at too. She is coated in a delightful mix of rainbow colours: blues, yellows, pinks. She reminds me of the Rainbow Fish book every child will have read at some point, something else we can relate to with this fish. She is not as pluffed up as...

...This band can't stop churning out albums can they? This is their 4th in less than 3 years! If you read my 'Nightfreak & Sons of Becker' review then you'll get an idea of who The Coral are etc. Another track by tracker for you all to enjoy: She Sings The Mourning: Poor spelling, or a play on words? Who knows? Either way it gets the album off to a fine start. Lots of odd noises and lyrics that I don't have a clue as to what they mean but you want to sing along to it and you should. It's a top tune. In what seems like a mini solo the song goes completely mental with god knows what going on, typical Coral! My only problem with is that it sounds like it can be bigger and better but perhaps that is saved for live shows. 8/10. Cripples Crown: This is a bit of a laidback song, with guitars clipping inbetween lyrics, quite haunting...

...Cyprus is an island in the southern mediterean, just off the Egyptian coast, being divided into touristy Greek Cyprus and Turkish Cyprus (which is mostly a military base). I went to Cyprus on a cycling holiday and it was an absolute nightmare to get the bikes, we waited 45 minutes after everyone else had left the new (but very barren and not very comfortable) arrival lounge. The bikes eventually appeared to fell off the plane, as we found later in the holiday that they arrived with various damage. Larnaca is the location of the main airport in Cyprus, located close to the party town of Ayia Napa but 90 minute slow bus ride away from the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort, Paphos. The country appears to be very dusty, sparse in population except for the large hotel resorts and the ubiquitous half built villa's that seem to be found...

Coral Bay, Cyprus

Advantages: Very laid back, relaxing, clean beach, good choice of resturants
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet for young people!

...Coral Bay in Cyprus is one of my favourite places in the world. It is the perfect place to go to relax and unwind and you are pretty much guaranteed sunshine. Even now in January the sun is shining and it is 19C! It is a 30-40 minute drive from Paphos airport and very easy to get to, even for a first timer in Cyprus! All the road signs are in English and they also drive on the left like us. Coral Bay is mainly centered along a main strip of bars, resturants and shops. All the hotels and villas are just off the main strip and along the sea front. There is a more laid back feel to Coral Bay than other resorts in Cyprus and even on a weekend night it doesn't feel to crowded. My favourite resturant is the Seriani, the quality is superb and the portions are huge! If you want a drink in the evening Kikos bar is also a place I would...

Ascos Coral Beach Hotel,Cyprus. One of the nicest hotels.

Advantages: Close to beach, peaceful , no children, close to bars
Disadvantages: Shingle beach by hotel.

...We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute. The Wonders of Coral Bay

Advantages: The sea is a clean clear blue and the weather is fantastic.

...Coral Bay is a beautiful place to visit. The sea is clean and a clear blue. When I was there in June 2005, I stayed in my apartment which is situated only down the road from Coral Bay in a small place called Peiya. Every day we drove into Coral Bay which took only five minutes. There are lots of water sports available on the beach, such as para-gliding, scuba diving, glass boat trips (which is a must), jet skis, banana rides, water skis, speed boat hiring, pedaloes, windsurfing and lessons and canoeing. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink just up the road from the beach. In the evening we went to a taverna and bar where there was a pool table for the kids and the owners let them play on this free of charge. The people there were very polite and generous. Coral Bay, also, have a few shops which do come in handy...

Advantages: Great location, extensive amount of food and drink available
Disadvantages: Parts of hotel need updating

..., alcohol (local alcohol free only) and ice cream available all day. There are quizzes and pool activities during the day which are quite fun but the evening entertainment is pretty poor. Bingo every night with a jackpot of (drumroll) £10! Once a week the hotel has a casino night which is great, you can play roulette, blackjack, craps or poker. The hotel is in a great position just off the main strip of Coral Bay and about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. We would return to this hotel as we think it is good value for money and you get what you pay for....

Nightfreak and The Sons Of Becker - The Coral

...Just who exactly are The Coral? Well, truth be told, I had not heard of them until The Invisible Invasion was released in the summer. The line-up of the band is as follows: James Skelly - guitar / vocals Ian Skelly - drums Nick Power - organ / vocals Bill Ryder-Jones - guitar / trumpet Lee Southall - guitar / vocals Paul Duffy - bass / sax John Duffy - Percussion The Coral blend indie, rock and ridiculous music to make a catchy brand of music. In just three years they have put out four albums. Albeit that most of them tend to be poorly produced. The one I am about to review is a limited edition album. Enjoy... I happen to be seeing The Coral tomorrow night! Last Sunday, I thought I would just get this album to boost my Coral knowledge if you will. Hotel Coral, Skala Rachoni

Advantages: Nice hotel, good swimming pool and bar, fantastic scenery, close to the beach, very peaceful
Disadvantages: Very remote - a few more tavernas would be advantageous, the seabed was covered in seaweed

...My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at the Hotel Coral in Skala Rachoni, Thassos. We booked with Thomsons Holidays as a last minute package deal, although this hotel can be booked independently. We stayed for a week during the school holidays from July 22nd to July 29th 2007. THE LOCATION and FACILITIES The hotel is literally 180 metres from the sea (less than 5 minutes walk) and is set within beautiful olive groves with a spectacular mountain backdrop. The small resort centre of Skala Rachoni is about 1km away along the seafront, and the village of Rachoni is 4km inland. There is plenty of parking available at the hotel and a lovely swimming pool with pool bar. The swimming pool, which is a decent size, is set within the olive groves and so the surroundings are totally peaceful. My only gripe is...

Advantages: The Distillers carry on their at their best...varied, exciting and guaranteed to get you rocking!
Disadvantages: Fans of the earlier albums may find some of the songs too different for their liking
