...The Corrs have finally come home. And thank heaven for that. Who? you ask. This multi-platinum selling Irish pop band from Dundalk, Ireland, are four siblings, namely, sisters Sharon, Caroline, Andrea and brother Jim. Although they're less well known in the USA, their music has sold phenomenally well across the globe (large fan bases exist in the UK, Ireland, western and central Europe, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Australia?but in the USA??). Their remarkable debut album, 'Forgiven, Not Forgotten' (1995), combined modern pop with a strong Irish sensibility through the use of uillean pipes, bodhràn, tin whistle, and the dulcet-toned violin of Sharon. Although their second album, 'Talk on Corners' (1999), dropped a notch below 'Forgiven', that work still drew mainly upon the Corrs' strengths...

...I bought this CD a while back in 2004 even though this CD was released in March 2002 I came across this album by pure luck in my collection of CD's and I thought to myself I have not heard this for ages it seems like I haven't seen it for about 10 years. I put the CD in to my CD player this morning and again found myself singing along and dancing to some of the tracks. This album Best of the Corrs is made up of 18 fantastic tracks which could easily get one addicted to the music I know it did me when I was younger as well I was first introduced to the Corrs music when I was about 12 years old by a Friend of mine who used to listen to it constantly over and over again and we used to do dances to them in our back gardens it just grew on me and since then I have been listening to the Corrs. I was looking forward this new release and I am not disappointed. I had read on a website that it had been released in six months after Caroline's idea. Caroline plays the drums but was absent on the European tour of the band last year, due to her pregnancy (the birth of her daughter was announced by Andrea during their concert in Paris at the beginning of October,2004. ...In Blue is the Corrs' third studio album and featuring their hit single, Breathless as well as new versions of Radio and At Your Side, previously released on their Unplugged Album. They have now more or less completely veered away from the mainly acoustic sound, as was the case with Forgiven not Forgotten and have headed towards a more poppy sound, with the electric violin replacing the traditional fiddle. This is another polished, and very easy to listen to album, although it lacks some of the variety of the previous album "Talk On Corners". Nevertheless the songs are light and bouncy and the album is easy to listen to, if not quite as varied and charged as previous offerings. The Corrs originally rose to prominence with their "Irish" sound, and although their Celtic charm is still apparent, this album is more of a mainstream rocky...

...The Corrs kicked off a four night stint at the NEC in Birmingham this week. We went to see them on the first of those nights. Traditionally bands that do multi-night concerts at one arena are often a little rusty & weak on the first night, but I have to say this was not the case with The Corrs Tuesday night. The Dundalk family of five hit our consciousness about 5 years ago as a rather prissy & nicely packaged poppette band that fitted nicely with today's bland boy/girl bands. Some critics sneered at their rather light & patronising strains of pop-pulped tunes with a twee mix of Celtic jigs - a classic case of style over content. However, it cannot be argued that the band have matured & toughened up their image as well as their songs over the last couple of years, thanks largely to their tours on the roads rather than faffing about...

...After the disappointing postponement of the January date, I was perhaps a little more eager than normal to see the Corrs play at Sheffield's Arena (April 1st 2001). It was the first time that I'd been to this particular venue, and I'd recommend it as it's very easy to get to - as it's on the Supertram route and there's no expensive parking fee to worry about. On arrival, I joined a queue of excited fans that snaked around the building. Fortunately, we weren't left outside for long and soon I found my way to my seat. I was very lucky to have a very good view: in one of the front sections on the floor. Support came from a Dublin band, 'Picture House' - who were surprisingly very good. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

...I have been a fan of the Corrs for ages, I have to say at this point I am really hacked off now that Sharon has just got married.....( not that I ever thought I stood a chance !!) still look out Caroline and Andrea !! anyway back to the point, I got hold of three of their DVD's The forst purchase was the Corrs live at the Albert Hall, excellent I thought ! this cannot be beaten for cost, quality and effect.. it was very very good !! ..however I bought The Corrs Unplugged...and WOW !!!! this has to be a really hot DVD for anyone who likes the Corrs..whilst viewing the DVD you get the feeling that they are singing just for you, and kind of personal and private gig just for you... I have since bought The Corrs live at Landsdowne Road, and as good as it is, the Corrs unplugged is my favourite.. I think they Girls ( and Jim) deserve...

...For years, Andrea Corr has been known as the lead vocalist and tinwhistle player of their family band The Corrs. After more than a decade of making music, the siblings decided to take a much-needed hiatus and focus on their growing families. Not Andy. She continued pursuing her singing and acting career and finally came out with her first solo album. It was a novelty to see and hear her by herself but I found her new sound great.
