Baskin Robbins Ice Cream
Review of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Shop by  lilyellowfish

Advantages: Tasty, variety of flavours, not sickly, range of milkshakes, provide lighter options, can take home
Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to find, Unhealthy, Price

...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About Baskin Robbins ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Baskin Robbins is the world's largest chain of ice cream. Baskin Robbins was founded by Burton Baskin and Irvine Robbins. They have been providing ice cream for 62 years to more than 5,800 shops in 34 countries, proving how popular it really must be. Baskin Robbins is widely available at Cineworld cinemas and Millies Cookies. ~~~~~~~~ Flavours ~~~~~~~~ I absolutely love ice cream and apart from the nutty ones I have practically tried every flavour at Baskin Robbins, although I have my favourites I always like to try other flavours as well. You can have these severed as 1, 2 or 3 scoops in a pot or in a cone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Classic Flavours ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vanilla - This Classic has been around since Baskin and Robbin's first started in 1945. It is made... Read review

Custard cream? no! ice cream
Review of Asda Custard Cream Ice Cream Biscuits by  lazza123

Advantages: Novelty value
Disadvantages: Taste

...You can tell summer is here, all the different types of ice cream are now available in the shops! I was walking around my local ASDA, and found these - all the ones I would normally have had gone :-( ** What are they? ** Asda Custard cream ice cream biscuits are just that – Ice creams that look exactly like custard creams. The box has six individually wrapped ice creams in. It seems to be a bit of a trend now, making ice creams in the style of well known other brands. I’m sure most people have eaten, or even seen custard cream biscuits; well these are the ice cream version, they look identical to the biscuits, but are about three times larger. ** What’s the pack like? ** So what do you get for £1.48? You get a box of six ice cream biscuits, weighing in at 220g. The box is blue, and has a picture of the ice creams... Read review

Cream Egg Ice Cream without the Cream Egg taste.
Review of Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Cream (On a stick) by  nat85

Advantages: Different to current ice creams on the market
Disadvantages: Just cause it says Cream Egg, doeant mean that is is.

...I love cream eggs, in fact I love them a bit too much. After easter I buy so many in the clearance sales that Im sick of them by the end of the day, then morning comes and the craving is back! Cream Eggs sell so well during easter that it makes sence for Cadburys to try and market their product throughout the year. The new Cream Egg Bar was OK, but not as nice as the egg. The Cream Egg ice cream tub was a nice treat but didnt really remind me of the cream egg. So when I was in my local Tesco and I spotted the cream Egg Ice Cream on a stick and thought Id give it a try. When I buy ice creams, I tend to buy chocolaty ones, mars ice cream or galaxy ice cream. Actually Mars or Galaxy is pretty much all I buy. So the chocolate covered ice cream really apealed to my taste buds. Biting into the chocolate was like biting... Read review

Ice cream! ICE cream!
Review of Philips Delizia HR2303 Ice Cream Maker by  digitalburn

Advantages: Fresh, delectable ice cream made to order
Disadvantages: -

...I distinctly remember the first time I had shop-bought ice cream. It was vanilla, not my favourite flavour anyway, but in no other way seemed to bear any relation to what I knew to be ice cream. It was a soft, sugary, frothy, chemically paste, which almost made me retch. Luckily, I was a well dragged up little lad so I gritted my teeth and bore instead of throwing up and decrying this retched muck I was being served. (I believe it was actually this very same place where I first experienced the horrors of shop-bought bread and SHRIEK! margarine. The problem was, of course, that I was brought up pretty much on entirely home made food, cakes, ice cream, the works (even milk and cheese, as my mum kept goats), so I knew how things were supposed to taste, not how the cheap imitation stuff you can buy in shops taste.* The upshot of this... We all scream for ice cream!!
Review of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Shop by  kiss_me2070

Advantages: Great flavours, great choice, taste testers, and more!!
Disadvantages: Not much choice here in the UK!

...Baskin Robbins sell the most amazing, delicious ice-cream in an array of wonderful flavours. Most Baskin Robbins are joint with Millie's Cookies and probably nearly every town has got at least one! ***HISTORY*** Baskin Robbins was created by two brother in laws (Burton "Burt" Baskin and Irvine "Irv" Robbins) who dreamed of creating an innovative ice cream store. They both had a mutual love of old fashioned ice cream and the desire to provide customers a high variety of flavours. In 1945 a snowbird ice-cream shop was opened in California by Irv, which featured 21 flavours in his store. One Year later Burtons Ice Cream was opened by Burt in Pasadena, CA. By 1948 they both had 6 stores between them, which eventually grew into Baskin Robbins. In 1949, there were more than 40 stores in Southern California, which is when Burt and Irv... Read review

UK Praline and Cream is US Creme Caramel Pecan
Review of Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream, Praline and Cream by  TheChocolateLady

Advantages: Buttery flavor, lovely pecans
Disadvantages: Tastes waaaaaaaaaay too good!

...Well, now that I've figured out that what Haagen-Dazs calls "Praline & Cream" in the UK is what they call "Crème Caramel Pecan" in the US, I can finally write this op! We all know that Haagen-Dazs makes some of the finest ice creams on the market today, and are now produced and sold all over the world. They can, therefore, charge a bit more (if not a lot more) for their products than the local brands such as Walls, ASDA or even Cadbury ice creams. But the question is, are these ice creams worth the extra pence? Here's what I have to say about this. First of all, I should tell you that I'm not reviewing one of the chocolate flavors here, although I am a real chocolate addict. The reason for this is, I've become spoiled and even Haagen-Dazs hasn't been able to equal the experience of eating a chocolate "Gelato" in Rome... Read review

The cream of the creams
Review of Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry by  MAFARRIMOND

Advantages: Mellow, rich and unique in a stylish distinct bottle
Disadvantages: Perhaps more pricey than some sherries

...Harveys Bristol Cream is the world’s best selling sherry. Harveys has produced fine Spanish sherry from the Jerez region of Spain since 1796. Harveys Bristol Cream stands out from other sherries in taste and quality. Harveys Bristol Cream is a blend of three sherry types — Fino, Amontillado and Oloroso, all created from the Palomino grape – that are then sweetened with Pedro Ximénez wine. Each adds a unique flavor and textural element to the final blend. The final blend is a closely guarded company secret. Harveys Bristol Cream sweetness is ultimately adjusted to 13.8 - 14.2% by the addition of wine created from the sun-dried Pedro Ximénez, which adds a creamy, raisiny richness. The Bristol Blue bottle was introduced in 1996 to mark Harveys 200th anniversary. Bristol, besides being an important seaport, had become one of Britain... Read review

A 99 ice cream without the ice cream van!
Review of Cadbury's Flake Ice Cream by  laylamccay

Advantages: Fabulous taste
Disadvantages: Have to finish the entire tub

...My decision as to which tub of ice cream to buy when staring at an array of choices in the supermarket is based mainly upon the price of the tub and the flavour. Quite a lot of ice creams with flavours that are also chocolate bars have sprung up of late, and being a chocolate bar obsessive, my ice cream purchasing frequency has sprung up too! However, Flake is not my favourite type of chocolate. For one thing it's messy and I can't be bothered to have my chocolate bar fall all over my lap and the ground while I am trying to eat it. As such, I very rarely buy Flakes and only after I had sampled all the other chocolate-bar-flavoured ice cream that I noticed the Flake tub sitting inobtrusively in the bottom of the freezer. I decided to live dangerously and give it a go. Instincts are wonderful things. I didn't initially realise... Read review

Ice Cream Heaven
Review of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream by  daylehall

Advantages: Creamy ice cream, real strawberry pieces, biscuit pieces
Disadvantages: The price, the calories and fat content!!

...I first came across Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Ice Cream when one of my friends bought it round when we were having a DVD night and to be honest, nearly every time I settle down for the evening to watch a DVD, this ice cream comes out. About Haagen-Dazs Haagen-Dazs is unsurprisingly an American Brand and wasn't actually available to buy in the UK until 1987. Haagen-Dazs actually only started out with three flavours: vanilla, chocolate and coffee. With these flavours being so popular the brand quickly developed, with them producing a wider variety of flavours for the consumer to choose between. Packaging This ice cream comes in a standard ice cream thick cardboard container which holds 500ml. The lid is also made of cardboard and pop off fairly easily (although can sometimes be difficult if you try to open... Read review

sun creams for vampires.
Review of Johnson's Ultra Sun Cream by  madlucy

Advantages: easy to apply, nice smell
Disadvantages: bad packaging, not hypo-allergenic

...Well it’s that time of year again and I thought I should write another opinion on something I really know about – sun cream! I live on the Costa del Sol (and it’s lovely, thankyou. The pool is 22C today although I can’t face a swim as I’ve just cleaned the thing. See my Spain ops if you need to know more). I also have the whitest of white sensitive skin and sometimes can’t go out in the day – hence the title. In fact I am very popular in summer as sitting next to me makes anyone look like they have a tan. I never ever tan. I’ve tried a few times – once I lay in the garden all day, turned beetroot, couldn’t sleep for a week and then turned white again, other times I’ve tried the “gradual build-up approach” – but I simply don’t tan. If I really... Read review
