Reviews of the cry
A Far Cry From The Competition
Review of Far Cry (PC) by
ChrisSwan
Advantages: Breathtaking graphics and sound, Great fun, A true next-gen game
Disadvantages: Demanding on you and your PC, Checkpoint save system, Silly story
...Far Cry is a revolutionary game in some ways, but a very unoriginal one in others. However, despite the fact that its story could be written on the back of an envelope and it brings all but the best machines to their knees, Far Cry is a masterpiece of graphical quality, has a great physics system and, above all, is great fun.
Graphics And Sound:
The first thing that hits you about Far Cry is the graphics - they are by far the best seen in any game to date and even rival those of the upcoming Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. The Crytek engine on which the game is based was originally designed as a test for next-generation graphics cards but the developers saw its potential and built a game around it. This game became Far Cry.
The main thing that differentiates Far Cry from its competitors is that it handles both indoor and outdoor...

A Far Cry from Paradise...
Review of Far Cry (PC) by
frankplummer
Advantages: Spectacular Graphics, Nice Gameplay, Quite intense Action
Disadvantages: May Need A High-End System To Run To The Max
...One of the most graphic-heavy games that braved our stores in 2002-2003, Far Cry uses technology that was never before seen in a PC game...
You play Jack Harver, an ex-military man turned tour guide, running his own boating service around a set of tropical islands. When a female journalist hires you to take her closer to the islands, in order for her to get some pictures of it, your living hell begins, first, with the capture of her...
Far Cry uses CryTek's "Cry Engine", that is truly impressive. More so, in my view, than Valve's Source engine. The graphics themselves are something to go by. Each character has been modelled spectacularly well, and not just the main characters. The merceneries around the island are incredibly well detailed, with their weapons being more so. As an island would be, it is surrounded by water...

Devils Cry For Dante's Mercy
Review of Devil May Cry (PS2) by
DBZKing
Advantages: Hardcore Action | Gameplay
Disadvantages: Life Span
...This is a review on the game Devil May Cry for the Playstation 2. Devil May Cry was first going to be a sequel to the Resident Evil games, but then as it had completely different moves, and style of game, they decided to make it as their own series of games. Devil May Cry was first released into the UK at the year 2001; it struck the gaming world by force and became very popular from the start. This game is made by Capcom (the creators of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat). The story is about a man called Dante, but he is no ordinary mad, he has special powers, from the likes that no one has, he is Half Human, and Half Devil. He is the son of Nelo Angelo, whom wealds the sword Sparta. Dante owns a bar called Devil May Cry (hint the name of the game). At the beginning of Devil May Cry, you have Dante in his bar, which is now closed talking...

DO YOU THINK THAT THE DEVIL WILL EVER CRY?
Review of Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (PS2) by
apatra
Advantages: EXCEPTIONAL ROCK MUSICS WHILE SHOOTINGS, LOTS OF ACTIONS WITH A LOT OF STUNTS AND GOOD GRAPHICS
Disadvantages: HARD BOSSES.
...Devil may cry is an action packed game that I will say more or less one of the most action packed game in the play station 2 action games.
I saw this game as a game that is full of myths and the name also tells what the game is all about. I want to put up a question, have you ever seen the devil cry? Well the devil may cry but I wonder when the devil will cry. This is a game that unfolds a story of Dante’s early life and his twin brother Virgil’s trio logy that got them selves shooting from hell to see those demons dealt with. The game it self does not have that much story background but its humorous and action packed scene, made players to neglect the poorly detailed story. On the other hand, the devil may cry has a lot of monsters that might make the game a little gory to some just like in the case of residence evil...

Devil may be crying but you will be grinning
Review of Devil May Cry (PS2) by
assistant_14
Advantages: dark and scary graphics with an edgy atmosphere and good combat system.
Disadvantages: Levels are sometimes a little short and not deep enough...rarely though.
...After months of drought finally the PS2 is going to have something to shout about. This christmas will see the release of some of the most playabale games written for the console so far. Of course the jewel in the crown will be metal gear solid 2 but sneaking in quietly will be the most excellent Devil May Cry. Designed by the creators of Resident Evil, devil may cry is a faster paced and less puzzle orientated twist on the resident evil style of gaming. The style of the game is similar but it is lightening fast and much less subtle in terms of quietly wandering around using small amounts of ammunition. Devil may cry gives you a choice of weaponary from the word go with a huge sword and guns that just dont run out of ammo.
After playing the demo to death I arrived at work yesterday to find a very pleasant suprise. Devil May Cry had...

This devil will make you cry
Review of Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (PS2) by
hippykiller
Advantages: dante at his best
Disadvantages: they is a person called lady
...Devil will cry against Dante
Storyline
This game explores Dante past as it sees him as a normal teenager who does not care much about what is happening but just out to have some fun, this all changes when a mysterious man offers an invitation for Dante to see his twin brother vergil. Although they have to same blood of their father flowing through their veins there are always fighting each other to the death but unlike Dante, vergil is out to gain the power of his father sparda, however Dante will have some help from a demon hunter called lady (yeah I know it a weird name and I think she got the wrong idea when Dante call her lady) and she is determined to destroy every single demon in the world, and that also includes Dante being a half demon. Although each of these characters have their own unique goals as to why they are here...

Devil May Cry 4: Success or Failure?
Review of Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360) by
Darko3B
Advantages: A great actin adventure game, some of the best game play in the series
Disadvantages: Similarities to earlier DMC games, but it still works
...Devil May Cry is back with it's latest instalment, Devil May Cry 4, and, dare I say it, better than ever. Being a DMC fan from the beginning I am delighted to announce that Capcom have made the transition to the next gen console superbly. All those features that have defined the series so far are back in force. The visuals are stunning and the game play is the typical fast flowing melee driven style that we have all come to love. Capcom have done the right thing bringing this out on the xbox360 and forgetting any exclusivity to one console. This is because they stepped back from the battle between the consoles and have created a game for all to enjoy.
As most fans will know by now the hero devil hunter, Dante, has bee replaced by the new kid Nero. However, to those Dante obsessed gamers, and I can confess I am one of them, do...

FarCry
Review of Far Cry (PC) by
bad_bob00
Advantages: Excellent price, highly addictive, beautiful graphics and amazing multiplayer online
Disadvantages: Can get frustratingly hard, storyline abit much, need a good PC
...Upon reading a review of FarCry in my monthly computer magazine, and looking at the screenshots shown and the high gold award given to it, I decided it might not be a bad idea to buy this game as I hadn't played a decent first-person-shooter in a long time. I don't regret buying it one bit, although I did pay the full £25 price when it first came out, not realising it was going to be on sale for as little as £5 In a few days time.
The storyline to FarCry is a little over-the-top I feel. You are sent to some islands in the South Pacific to investigate some strange goings-on, and end up being embroiled in battles with other mercenaries and even alien type creatures. Eventually whilst playing the game I lost plot of what was really going on, not that the storyline is the games strongpoint, I find its far too complex and boring trying...

THIS DEVIL DOESN'T CRY!
Review of Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360) by
crispy79
Advantages: excellent gameplay, super graphics, great coombs and moves
Disadvantages: short completion time
...Well this is the first Devil May Cry that I have played and after downloading the demo from Xbox LIVE wanted this game big time. It's not often I get hold of a game on the day it's released, but Devil May Cry 4 was one of them!
The story starts of with you as a part of an order called "The Order Of The Sword". A group of people who defend the city of Fortuna from hordes of demon invaders. On an occasion when the leader (known as the Saviour) is talking a myterious man comes along and kills him.
It is your job to find the man in red and kill him.
You play as Nero and throughout that story of Devil May Cry 4 you will find that the Order Of The Sword are actually looking to manipulate demons in order to make the human race stronger and in the process using Nero's love, Kyrie, against him as he discovers too much.
A nice touch...

Crying shame.............
Review of Crying Freeman DVD by
claires_cult
Advantages: unintentioanlly humerous, Cute Actor, cool action scene with him in his pants!
Disadvantages: Ridiculous plot, too similar to everything else of this genre
...I remember watching this film about 4 years ago now. Its the kind of film you hire when there's nothing else left in video store. We watched this film as a group of mates, drinking beer and eating takeaway, which is the best you will get out of this film!
The Crying Freeman is set (unsurprisingly!) in the Far East (non specific). The Crying Freeman is a bit of bad ass, who fights for the side of good. The main plot line centers around him protecting a young woman from a version of the Japanese Mafia who for reasons either unknown, or so boring I just forgot, are out to kill her. The plot is pretty easy to figure out, the girl is pretty, the guy is cute, but has issues from his past (hence the crying)and lo and behold, they end up falling in love! This makes the whole thing personal, and quite frankly the same as too many other...
