Overall the non-original tracks are more effective because they have greater depth and are more capable of mirroring or enhancing the scenes they accompany. "The Departed" is an engrossing, if overlong police drama that is finely crafted by its writer and director and well-played by almost all involved. However, for all its credentials of quality, I couldn't bring myself to love it. Perhaps it is just too male a film (there are hardly any women in it) or maybe it is too earnest for my tastes. Whatever the case, though I appreciated its craftsmanship, I didn't enjoy it as much as I felt I should....

Borrowing elements from the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, Martin Scorsese establishes a stellar cast, a brilliantly-written script, and thematic use of Boston's heritage and culture to make The Departed his own. The basic premise is that a cop goes undercover in the mob, while the mob places one of their own as a mole in the police force. The Departed - A masterpiece for Scorsese

Advantages: Amazing, entertaining film
Disadvantages: Absolutely none

...with the Costello (played by the legend that is Jack Nicholson) and Damon (a kind of son like figure to Costello) is sent under cover (if you can call it that) with the Massachusetts State Police. Awards This brilliant film picked up 4 Oscars! Run Time 151 mins (and they just fly by!) Directed The Departed is directed by none other than the brilliant Martin Scorsese. Summary Fanastic storyline, amazing cast, great value for money and well worth the 4 Oscars it received. High recommended film....

The mother of all Department stores?

Advantages: Its a real experience
Disadvantages: Expensive, but it doesnt claim to be anything else!

.... Beds Bedding Furniture - a decent range of top end companies, not as comprehenive as John Lewis or Harrods Chilrens clothes and toys (really amzing layout here!) BARS AND RESTAURANTS So many! There are countless bars (eg Moet Bar), snack bars, full on restaurants and a department stylee buffet restaurant on the top floor. In the food hall there are numerous places to snack. These include Square Pie (excellent pie chain) EAT (sandwqiches) and Yo Sushi. There is also a Starbucks near the flower dept. You wont need to go hungry. OTEHR SERVICES / BITS YOU NEED TO KNOW They offer a delivery serivce (for a charge) There is a wedding list service (new) There is a twice yearly sale (which is very good) There is a male hair salon Dont miss the frequent themed events. ...What is it? Debenhams advertises itself as Britain?s favourite department store. I would describe it as Britain?s most average department store. I am speaking from my experiences at the Swindon store; the other ones I visit tend to be slightly better. Debenhams has it?s own range of products and high street concessions in it. There are 104 stores. The Store Location: This is probably the best thing about it. It has a town centre location, which happens to be right by my bus stop, which is great when I have a 30-minute wait for the next bus. It is a 1960?s style building that has seen better days. Advantages: all under one roof

..., cheque or cash. There is a nice cafe within the store. Parking is plentiful, except near Christmas, when the store burts to the seams with shoppers. The thing I like best is the fact that they stock different types and different makes of items in most departments....

Debenhams - a department store with something for everyone!

Advantages: A wide choice of items, good sales with up to 70% off, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Can be expensive at full price - wait for the sales! No free parking.

...My review of Debenhams is based on the Barrow-in-Furness store, but the basics should apply to any branch - they can be found in most big towns and cities, including Manchester. The Barrow store is the biggest shop in town; a huge department store covering 2 big floors, with a car park on the roof so you don't have to carry your shopping too far! Unfortunately they do charge you to park there, which I personally think is a bit of a cheek when you're shopping in their store, but ho hum! As for what the store sells - it has everything from womenswear, childrenswear, menswear, cosmetics, accessories, sportswear, lingerie, home items, gifts, wedding list...the list goes on! One of the UK's best department stores

Advantages: Huge range of stock, cheap prices
Disadvantages: High interest rate on store card

As you enter from Oxford Street you are met with an assortment of jewellery and affordable and expensive handbags. Further in is the cosmetics and bathroom accessories section. The range of products from hand cream to combs sold is amazing at very competitive prices. The card and stationery sections are very well stocked. The clothes department sells quality items, which are too expensive to purchase. The cushions department is comprehensive and cheap. You can also order made to measure curtains. The painting and decorating department is vast and you can have any colour of paint made up on the spot. The top floor sells computers, software, TVs, Hi Fi, CDs and books etc. Computers, which are not sold at PC World, are sold here...
