...The Devil wears Prada DVD/film was actually based on the 2003 book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger. It is said that the inspiration behind the book and the rather intimidating magazine editor (played by Meryl Streep) was that of American Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Due to this fact many famous designers and people in the industry shied away from having their products in the movie and there was a rumour that if anyone were to make cameo appearances in the film their clothes would never grace the pages of Vogue again, but apparently Anna Wintour later went on to say that she actually enjoyed the film and the part played by Meryl Streep. ...I had actually read the book of The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger before seeing this film for the first time and therefore think I may have a slightly different opinion to someone who has not read the book. The plot of the film is that a young girl called Andrea who has just graduated from college is out to find her first job. She really wants to become a journalist but knows she must find any way into the industry she can. She ends up going for a job at a top fashion magazine Runway. ...Like all the people who seem to write vacuum cleaner reviews on Ciao, I had a Dyson, but with excessive cleaning and general wear and tear, my Dyson began to fall to pieces and I decided to treat myself to a new cleaner. I say treat but as I have very little funds for nice new hoovers I had to settle with what I could afford. I went along to my local Comet, where prices are said to be low all the year round. I looked at their aisle full of fancy and dare I say, quite sexy little numbers!! All colours. I could have coordinated my hoover with my whole house if Id wished!! Unfortunately sex appeal costs and I was left with the choice of one hoover - The Dirt Devil DD6114 Upright Vacuum Cleaner. DD6114 is classic Dirt Devil colour, bright red with black attachments. ...Dirt Devil is a brand many of us have heard about and simply put to the back of our minds. Unlike Remington, Dyson, Sony they somehow just don't stay prominent when one is considering purchasing. This could be due to the fact that they are for the most part at least largely unseen. Yet if you google Dirt Devil you'll get loads of results. I was looking for a small handheld vacuum primarily for the car, and after doing little research stumbled upon a really good deal. £16.99 for this little rechargeable Dirt Devil. The unit comes complete with a charger which easily plugs into the socket on the Devil. The packaging is adequate, but on reflection it did give a little hint as to the contents. It comes with a few basic tools including that thing with the thin end. It is bagless but does have a little cloth filter...

The devil's chair

Advantages: Lots of twists and keeps you guessing to the last minute
Disadvantages: can be a little confusing, all in all a good film

...The Devil?s Chair Film only review Nick West took his girlfriend to a disused assylum and they both dropped some acid. His date Julie sits on an old abandoned chair and her body is mutilated and dragged into a mysterious black hole. After Nick explains his story to the police he is placed in an asslyum. After four years a brilliant psychartrist takes care of him and takes him and four of his students back to the murder scene. As Nick arrives back at the assylum he begins having a flashback. The psycharitrist wants to find the truth behind the murder. This film is as gruesome as saw. It has lots and lots of twists. The doctor seems to have other motives for taking them all back there, he wants to summon the monster to our world but it needs sacrifices. This is the real reason we are led to believe for them all being there...

Dust Devil - a future classic?

Advantages: Atmospheric 'horror' movie dominated by its hypnotic tone and suspense; makes beautiful use of the Namibian desert
Disadvantages: Those looking for gore won't find it here

...I'm not sure when I first saw Dust Devil except that it comes under that category of late one night I ended up watching some film, I know not why, and was amazed. Such is Dust Devil. Then, yesterday, I saw the DVD, and heedless of price I bought it, knowing that it is practically a 'lost' film, though it was only originally released in 1992. I didn't want to get home, search the internet for the cheapest price, only to find it out of stock, out of stock. The DVD is in fact a director's cut, or as the credits at the end note, the restored version. Miramax removed some portion of the film and I don't know what or why. There are deleted scenes on the DVD that you can understand the omission of. They don't feel right. Except, that is, for one scene regarding the ringing of telephones that links together several strands of the plot...
