Doctor Who Classic
Review of Doctor Who - The Five Doctors DVD by
pjm123
Advantages: Classic
Disadvantages: DVD could be better
...The Doctor (Peter Davison) has just left the planet Earth, in the 13th Century, England, the time when King John signed Magna Carta.
Taking the Doctor with him, The TARDIS carries companions Tegan (Janet Fielding) and Turlough (Mark Strickson). Also aboard the TARDIS, is Kamelion, (voiced by Gerald Flood - although never appeared in The Five Doctors) a new companion. The robot has joined the Doctor, recently under the power of The Master, which he found on the planet Xeriphas.
Leaving the 13th Century, the TARDIS takes the Doctor, Tegan and Turlough to the Eye of Orion. When he is enjoying the rest he has well earned, the Doctor doesn't realise his past incarnations are being took out of their time, along with some of their companions.
Leaving the Eye of Orion, the Doctor collapses in the TARDIS console room, while the TARDIS...

New New Doctor Who
Review of Doctor Who - Series 2 Vol.2 DVD by
ElapsedSpiral
Advantages: Addictive watching, fast paced show with a good sense of humour
Disadvantages: Weak plots, poor choice of "baddies"
...Intro
Doctor Who is a BBC Science Fiction show created in the 1960s, cancelled in the late '80s and relaunched in 2005.
Doctor Who focuses on a main character known as "The Doctor" an alien with a human appearance who has the ability to travel through time and space in a spaceship called a TARDIS.
The Doctor has the ability to create a new body, often with a new personality (known as "regenerating") in order to cheat death. Christopher Eccleston played the Ninth Doctor in the 2005 relaunch, and has now been replaced by the Tenth Doctor, played by David Tennant (Casanova, Blackpool).
New New Doctor
The Tenth Doctor is just as engaging as the previous Doctor. He reveals a friendly, extrovert personality in the first volume of the second series, topped a manic grin and just as much energy for adventure as the Ninth Doctor...

Doctor Doctor...I've Got a Bad Case of Loving You
Review of Doctor Who - Series 2 Vol.1 DVD by
katygriff
Advantages: Great Entertainment.
Disadvantages: No Special Features.
...When Doctor Who returned to our TV screens last year I don't think people expected it to be the great success it has become. Then when Christopher Eccleston announced he was leaving we could not believe it. Why would you want to leave such a brilliant role? Anyway off he went and in came David Tennant to fill his shoes. I was worried Tennant would not be as good as Eccleston but I have to say I am wrong and this first DVD in the new second series of the show is one of the best yet and here is why.
-----
What is Doctor Who?
Doctor Who is about a travelling time lord and his companion. Together they travel through time and space looking for monsters and strange lands that they can explore and every so often they have to save the world again. Well it is all in a hard days work for these pair.
-----
Cast:
David Tennant...

Two Doctors, twice the excitement
Review of Doctor Who - The Two Doctors DVD by
IanM73
Advantages: Colin Baker at his best
Disadvantages: the special features disk
...What I am reviewing is the two disk DVD Doctor Who story "The Two Doctors"
As the series had success with The Three Doctors in 1972/3 and The Five Doctors in 1983 for special anniversary editions they decided these were very good storylines but due to the actors not all of them could appear all the time.
The show decided to do another story of the Doctor meeting his former self and this was possible due to the enthusiasm of Patrick Troughton. Patrick was always up for apperaring in these stories and loved the show.
With the current cast of Colin Baker as the Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri they were joined by Patrick and Frazer Hines who played Jamie from Patricks time as the doctor 1966-69.
Also apperaring in the cast was Jacqueline Pearce who you may remember as "Servalan" in Blakes 7
This was not an anniversary show...

Doctor Who, Take 9
Review of Doctor Who - Series 1 Vol.1 DVD by
ElapsedSpiral
Advantages: Fast paced, funny, good quality television
Disadvantages: No rewatch value
...In 2005, Doctor Who was relaunched by the BBC, with a new logo, a revamped theme tune and computer enhanced aliens and special effects galore, and what's more, the new look show has not only worked, but has become once more one of the BBC's most successful dramas, with the 3rd new series currently being shot.
