Advantages: great group
Disadvantages: getting a bit old!!

...The eagles were playing at Stormont in Belfast 2 weeks ago and i thought nothing off it,i am a big Eagles fan but i am not paying £35 a head to see The Eagles or anyone else. The thing about the Eagles is the fact that their music hasnt really changed over what about 25-30years now,so i thought i would take a look at their new album called no less THe Eagles Hits. The album has been out before but under the name The best of the Eagles or an other named The hits.I may be wrong and if i am correct me but i believe the Eagles album out now is their 3rd Hits album and they all contain mainly the same songs that being.. Advantages: Slam bang actioner with a great cast
Disadvantages: Incomprehensible plot...slack direction...

...As MGM finished the 60s they watched their competitors scoring large hits, while all of their big budget releases faltered at the box office. 1968's 'Where Eagles Dare' hauled the studio up by it's jackboot straps and scored a massive hit all over the globe. Produced by the British production arm of MGM based at the now defunct Borehamwood Studios, Alistair Macleans original screenplay leapt onto the screen boasting an accomplished cast, a tonne of hardware, and locations and setpieces to set the hair on end. For all of the above though, 'Where Eagles Dare' is far from being a great film. Director Brian G Hutton, who would reteam with Eastwood and World War II for 'Kelly's Heroes', struggles with the epic length of the film, and fails to unravel the absurd complexities of Macleans screenplay. ...This is a review of the newly released double album 'Long Road Out Of Eden'. The packaging I got this in at HMV says that this is a Special Edition. The Eagles are an American group originally formed in California, USA in the 1970's. They have had a number of previous hit singles and albums, with the album 'Hotel California' being perhaps their best known work, with an eponymous single as well as 'Desperado', 'The Long Run' and 'Takin' It Easy' amongst other. The Eagles took what they said was a 14 year vacation (from each other, as well) and have toured since they reformed in the 1990's. It is 28 years since their last studio album and now one has been released (actually two this is a double album). Advantages: A must for Eagles Fans everywhere
Disadvantages: No Don Felder

...Since the advent of digital media,many concerts from various artists made the crossover from video to dvd but this concert featuring The Eagles at their best is way above the sound quality one would expect from a live recording.I had wanted to see this gig for a long time and once I loaded the disc,I spent 2 and a half hours being mesmerised by pure gold.There is no doubt about it,after over 35 years these guys can still rock. The first thing that amazed me was the quality of the picture,,there is so much clarity you feel as if you could just reach out and grab a guitar yourself and start jamming along.The overall sound too is just as breathtaking,with each members harmonies coming through so clearly that you can see just how much work goes into the songs that Eagles fans everywhere have listened to for generations. Advantages: Great action, plot full of twists, Burton and Eastwod
Disadvantages: Dont Expect a Classic

..."A remote air base in the Alps, a vintage WW2 aircraft is coming in from the distance, it comes onto screen, and takes off. The background score hitherto subdued, booms out, and the stirring score plays, with the titles displayed on the screen ". When I first saw this shot as a kid way back in 1980 in a theater in my home town, I was just blow away by this. I was already used to Hollywood by then, but I was 11 years old when I watched this and the scene just caught me. I have watched this movie again and again, but every time I find myself on the edge, though I know what the outcome is. The movie I am speaking about is Where Eagles Dare the 1968 WW 2 movie starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood . Advantages: A double album of world class songs
Disadvantages: Seemingly none

...I have always been, and probably will always be, an Eagles fan. Yet still, I keep being impressed by this band. Initially, like many I assume, I was nervous about listening to this album in case it didn't live up to the very high reputation the Eagles built for themselves. Straight from holding the CD box though, there was something reassuring about it. It's a double album- that's a lot of Eagles songs but might that mean that many haven't been given proper work? But the Eagles thankfully are perfectionists. The first track, No More Walks in the Wood is a poem, and contains little backing from instruments and instead allows the voices of all 4 members to harmonise so well to describe the once luscious forest now torn down. It's style and it's politcal message is not what you're expecting. But it settles you, and prepares you... Read review

...I must point out that I have not had to make a claim. This review is based on my experiences as a new customer. I have taken out their Gold policy, so will not comment on the Silver policy. After being with my previous insurer for a decade, I decided to change after reading reviews from other Ciao members about their shortfalls should I need to make a claim. I chose Eagle Star. My initial contacts with Eagle Star went well, although I found them on the expensive side. They offered a first call discount, valid for short period. This did not impress me as they should just quote a low price to start with. You can join online at a discount, but I found it to be no cheaper than the discount I was offered over the telephone. I felt that the customer service staff are in need of some additional training as they could not answer... Read review

...Well it's that time again - dreaded insurance quotes. You know how it is hours and hours of ringing around to find a suitable, cheap quote. I went through the usual yellow pages, internet search engine to no avail. Everyone wanted high premiums and high excesses. So I came across Eagle Star at www.eaglestardirect.co.uk. Went onto the web site. It was easy to use, and loaded up quickly unlike most of the other sites I went onto. No waiting around for the information to transfer onto the database. Quick and painless. The website only wanted the basic information - not too many questions to be answered just the usual name, address, car registration, NCB etc. I waited with anticipation expecting another high insurance premium, but much to my surprise Eagle Star came up with a quote that was around 50.00 lower than any... ...A totally awesome live album that contains many well known classics such as Hotel California. I loved listening to this 2 disc album from start to finish,every song was effortlessley and passionately brought to life by the whole band. All the songs felt longer than other album versions I have heard before which for me made it even more enjoyable to listen to,as they felt just that little bit different and interesting to listen to. This album for me trully highlights and showcases how truly talented the Eagles are,and even if you have only ever heard of Hotel California you will definately not be dissapointed with this album,it has something on offer for everyone,from new kid in town to all night long. Advantages: Um... the soundtrack's not bad...
Disadvantages: ... where do I start?!?!

...Top Gun was a very enjoyable movie that had more cheese than a city-sized pizza. Iron Eagle, on the other hand, has enough cheese to top a pizza the size of Jupiter even if that pizza had extra cheese and cheese-stuffed crusts. Top Gun is, by comparison, almost a vegan option. That's right, a film that makes one of the cheesiest films of the cheesiest decade in history (the eighties, as if you need telling) look remarkably straight-laced. Iron Eagle could induce lactose intolerance in a creature that customarily swallowed entire solar systems whole. The Plot (for want of a better word) Well actually the plot isn't that bad.
