The Fall- A gem of a film.don't miss it
Advantages: Fantastic script,visually appealing,Great performances.
Disadvantages: None really.A few might not like it though
...First things first,a big thanks to Puggers for writing about this movie! Here is one brilliant film which combines a lot of genres and a film you will remember for long. The fall is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Lee Pace as the main protagonist.
Alexandria is a small girl living in a catholic hospital for his fractured arm where she meets an injured stuntman named Roy who agrees to tell her a story of 5 mysterious heroes trapped in an island who are looking to kill Prince Odius. Injured Roy needs morphine from the hospital pharmacy and asks Alexandria to steal it for him if she wants to hear the complete story. Being lured to hear the story, she would go to any extent.
The film is fascinating to say the least. It does remind you of Pan's Labyrinth(just because of the whole fairy tale meets reality factor, nothing else). As the story...

Fantasy May Fall in "The Fall"
Advantages: Thought provoking storyline, excellent acting, and breathtaking locations
Disadvantages: None I can think of!
... Please note it?s a Film only review
Subscribing to film channels was the best choice I made, especially when having sleepless nights or when my sister?s kids are around! I needed something to take my mind away, so Fantasy and Science Fiction films are always on the top of my favourite film category. It stimulates the imagination with superfluous actions and changeable stories. One of those films that I will never forget was The Fall (a 2008 production).
THE FALL is one of the most mysterious, but incredibly engaging and amusing, films that I have ever watched.
It?s not surprising when a child muddles up realism with imagination, it?s a part of the growing-up process . . . we all are knowledgeable that a child should have a vivid imagination but what if that child with such glowing and flamboyant thoughts...

Dudhsager Falls
Advantages: Beautiful scenery, get to feed wild monkeys, good value for money
Disadvantages: No disabled access.
...I visited Goa in India in March 2006 and while I was there, we went to visit Dudhsager Falls.
About Dudhsager Falls
The Dudsager Falls are on the border of Karnataka and Goa. The highest point of the falls is 600 metres and it is classed as the 5th highest waterfall in the world. The falls themselves are located inside a tropical jungle with lots of beautiful scenery all around.
Getting There
We stayed in Calangute in Goa and to get to the falls, we took a taxi which took about an hour to get there. The return taxi journey cost £20 which wasn?t too bad really as that taxi actually sat and waited for us, and came on the trip with us, giving us lots of background information about the area.
Once You Arrive
Once we arrived in Mollem which is the town the Falls are located in, our taxi driver took us to the people organising...

Cheesy film, should be Cheesy Falls
Advantages: pure laughter value after the first....well all of it really
Disadvantages: poor attempt at a 'scream' type film. Acting is laughable.
...You know the scenario, you're in the video shop and you've got the choice of two films. The girlfriends got one teen slasher flick in her hands and you fancy a nice terror/psychological blockbuster. Who wins? Yep you've guessed it, we went home with Cherry falls, the film where you need to loose your virginity to stay alive. Nice.
The film is set in the aptly named Cherry Falls, a quiet suburban town in Middle America. The initial scenes set out the tone for the whole movie. Two love struck teenagers are smooching in a car when our vicious murderer overhears that they are about to make love for the first time in the back of their Chevrolet. They don't get this far as the male is knifed to death and our talent less bit part female is found tied to a tree with more knife wounds then a Jeremy Paxman - William Hague election interview...

Falling Down
Advantages: psychological, michael douglas, social realism, dark humour
Disadvantages: depressing
...balance of intriguing social commentary and the scenes with Prendergast (Robert Duvall), a nice guy desk cop who strives to bring D-FENS in on his last day before retirement, that illuminate the movie high above the illusory mess of "dweeb turned bad" that it could so easily have become.
Douglas' performance is as real as they come: his character is a combination of desperation and powerlessness that demands a response. Schumacher wants us to think that there is a little bit of D-FENS in all of us; what's clever is the film turns an ordinary man into an avenging lily-white, and then attempts to blame us for being deranged psychopath loving hypocrites when we start to root for the character towards the end.
Be warned, Falling Down is a gripping portrayal of the mental instability that can lurk behind every average human being within...

Fall in love with the legend
Advantages: Excellent acting, wonderful characters, beautiful scenery, historically accurate
Disadvantages: None
..."She was like the water that freezes inside a rock and breaks it apart. It was no more her fault than it is the fault of the water when the rock shatters." ? One Stab, Legends of the Fall
If you ever find yourself with 2 hours and 7 minutes to fill, and want a front seat on the sort of emotional rollercoaster that will leave you weepy and drained, then look no further than Legends of the Fall.
It has all of the elements that are needed for a real epic. Stunning scenery well thought out characters, a story that spans decades, war, death, passion, madness and most of all tonnes of insight into the human condition. If my description alone doesn?t do it for you, well it also won the 1995 Oscar for Cinematography, and was nominated for 8 other awards, so that gives you an idea of quality.

The Fall Guy
Advantages: great entertainment and eighties action
Disadvantages: none really
...from the eighties.
Unfortunately?as of now they have only just released series one on DVD, which consists of 23 episodes (the pilot being counted as two episodes), giving a good seventeen plus hours, onto 6 DVDs, of harmless fun and some comical, if a little 'iffy' entertainment.
This series one can be bought from amazon for less than £11.00.
Sadly? The theme tune is actually sung by the star of the show Lee Majors and is not to every ones taste?
* Series one DVD brief plots.
1) Pilot? The Fall Guy (part 1)
2) The fall Guy (part 2)?
When a hit and run driver jumps bail it is up to Colt and Howie to bring the man back to court to face justice? but things are more difficult than first thought.
3) The Meek Shall Inherit Rhonda?
When a computer hacker is ripped of by his wife he hires Colt to find her to get his money...

Legends of the fall
Advantages: A great film.
Disadvantages: None
...This film was first released in 1994 and over the years I have seen it a few times. Then on mothers day my wonderful children bought it for me along with the dvd of love actually. So seeing as there was a few ops about love actually and none about legends of the fall I decided to write about this one.
Jim Harrison bases the film on a novel. I can?t comment on the book, as I haven?t read it yet.
The film tells the story of a family of a man and his three sons who live on a ranch in the foothills of the Montana Rockies in the 1900s. The film is told through the memories of an old Indian man who used to work for the family and through letters various members of the family had sent to each other.
The mains cast and character description.
DECKER Played by Paul Desmond.
As I said before the story is told through his eyes. He had...

One Man's Fall
Advantages: Interesting issues to debate, superb characters
Disadvantages: Plot problems, doesn't realise full potential
...Salem Falls reminded me of another of Jodi Picoult?s books, Perfect Match; perhaps partly because it?s a novel that doesn?t realise its full potential, but also because it deals with the difficult topic of sexual abuse and false accusation, albeit in very different circumstances. This time, the main character is not the victim, but the accused. Jack St Bride arrives in the small New Hampshire town of Salem Falls in a taxi. He has ill-fitting clothes and little money, following an 8 month prison sentence and a reluctance to return to Loyal, his former home.
He was convicted of sexual assault, a plea bargain that his lawyer recommended he take despite being innocent. He was accused of raping a teenage girl at the school where he taught history and coached soccer, the main evidence being her diary. Although the prison sentence was short...

Falling for a Film
Advantages: A fantastic film from the master of suspence!
Disadvantages: It has dated a little in places.
...Vertigo is generally regarded as a cinematic classic. It was released in 1958, and is regarded as one of Hitchcock's most enduring films. It comes mainly from the perspective of John "Scottie" Ferguson, (played by Hitchcock veteran James Stewart) who is a San Francisco detective. (Although, I am not quite sure why he is called "Scottie", because he certainly doesn't speak with a Scottish accent.) He has to retire after a rooftop chase which results in the death of a colleague and his suffering from vertigo, (induced by his near death experience and his partial responsibility for that death). He is asked by Gavin Elster, an old college friend, to act as a private investigator despite his newly acquired phobia. He follows Elster's wife, Madeleine (Kim Novak), in order to discover the reason for her recent strange behaviour, which Elster...
