The Rise And Fall Of Lufia II

Advantages: Strong soundtrack, challenging and fun puzzles
Disadvantages: Rather rushed Capsule monster feature, fights too easy

...solving the puzzles in Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, it's a shame they make up the main meat of the game's challenge. Much of the fights were far too easy, yet I never had a habit of fighting each enemy I encountered. The final section was such a letdown - there's no step up in challenge and the dungeons see to a let up for design. I clocked game completion in 27 and a half hours, which is okay for an RPG. The toughest challenge of the game lies in an optional side-quest - an endurance test in the form of a 99 floor randomly generated dungeon, which would push the play time beyond thirty hours. As both SNES Lufia games fall short of being great RPGs, if you prefer to have your puzzles puzzling than your dungeons dulling, then look out for Rise of the Sinistrals....

...This review is something of an obituary. After struggling on in various formats for a couple of years now, RI:SE is facing the axe, and will be disappearing from our screens in a few weeks? time. Originally designed to replace the Big Breakfast in Channel 4?s 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. slot, RI:SE was a funkier, younger rival to GMTV and BBC Breakfast News. Its original ?newsdesk? style format, anchored by presenters Mark Durden-Smith and Edith Bowman, quite appealed to me, as did the news bulletins featuring the top 5 headlines for the morning. However, the format failed to capture the attention of the great British public, and the originally quite impressive array of presenters started leaving the show like rats deserting the proverbial sinking ship. ...fights on youtube, and there is a big difference between the film version and the real version. Sadly, Rise of the Footsoldier falls for all the naïve clichés that only the most basic film does: Carlton is presented as completely fearless, exuberant in the face of a 40-1 crowd into which he will throw himself. He shows no fear, and has an unrealistic ability to escape serious harm. This just isn't real: fear is real, things going wrong is real. As a result, there's no sense of it actually happening, and it has no power behind it - you know you're just watching a choreographed mime. Since the football thugs bit is only at the start, you can quickly overlook it, but then the other failings of the film become apparent. The cockney accent Leach sports is almost comic in its attempt at being authentic (I could do better and I'm from the farmer...

Rise Or Fall?

Advantages: You've got to hand it to the girl, she can sing!
Disadvantages: Fairly standard formula soul/pop

...My girlfriend loves this CD. Apparently it's good funky soul music. If she was reviewing this CD she'd be telling you of the positive vibes that hit you whilst listening to "Rise" and the power of being yourself and respecting yourself. She'd tell ya of the fun of "When A Woman" and the importance of listening to the lyrics of "If You Love Me" Me? Well, I appreciate that there a couple of great tracks but other than that it sounds fairly standard soul-pop. Unconvential and dare I say it, even a tad dull! Buy it for your girlfriend, she'll forgive you for the neglect shown to her whilst Euro 2000 is on!! 5/10...

The Fall- A gem of a film.don't miss it

Advantages: Fantastic script,visually appealing,Great performances.
Disadvantages: None really.A few might not like it though

...First things first,a big thanks to Puggers for writing about this movie! Here is one brilliant film which combines a lot of genres and a film you will remember for long. The fall is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Lee Pace as the main protagonist. Alexandria is a small girl living in a catholic hospital for his fractured arm where she meets an injured stuntman named Roy who agrees to tell her a story of 5 mysterious heroes trapped in an island who are looking to kill Prince Odius. Injured Roy needs morphine from the hospital pharmacy and asks Alexandria to steal it for him if she wants to hear the complete story. Being lured to hear the story,she would go to any extent.
