...I have been to this farm several times now (I think about 6) and have loved every visit. The first time I went I was only 16 and could not try the free samples and was a little bored. I was at that age where the tractor ride was not impressive, the tour was boring and the shop was out of bounds. I do think however that this would be a great place for adults and children alike. If you are planning to visit Cornwall this month try the Cornish Cyder Farm (formerly Callestock Cider Farm). I hope I have covered everything in this review. ***HISTORY*** The farm is about 150 years old and the buildings reflect this age. The farm is the largest Cider maker throughout Cornwall. ...Gorgie City Farm is based in Gorgie Road on the West of Edinburgh. It is roughly about 5 minutes away by bus from the City Centre and is easy to get to with a wide Bus service being available. Gorgie Farm opened in 1982 as a community project. It was built on a derelict refuge site on Gorgie Road. This was to help bring the community closer to animals and help them learn about animals in their own environment. Gorgie Farm is very child friendly. There is an entrance opposite Tynecastle Garage which you can drive up. At the top there is roughly 5 parking spaces and 3 spaces which are for disabled driving. I often park on the side streets as my husbands business is just along the road and it is easier to park near his work and see granny(Mother in law works for hubby) rather than get to the farm and find it busy. ...Whirlow Hall Farm is situated approximately five miles to the West of Sheffield City Centre, close to the South Yorkshire County Boundary with Derbyshire. This Farm was set up by a group of volunteers in 1979 and soon afterwards became a Registered Charity and Trust, which has been known as the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust ever since. The principal aim of this Farm was to provide an Educational Centre for Sheffield Schoolchildren and in particular to provide a location where inner city kids could visit and experience rural life. Advantages: A great inexpensive day out away from the crowds
Disadvantages: May not be very accessible without a car

...tradition we had our normal debate about where we were going to go, as usual nobody would make a decision, so we flicked through the Island Pocket Guide that we'd picked up on the car ferry and went flicked through the various attractions and places to visit. Finally we came across Colemans Farm, we first visited Colemans Farm last year whilst on holiday on the Island and we'd all very much enjoyed our day there so we decided to go back again. Colemans Farm is situated in Porchfield which is near Newport. It is located in the middle of the countryside so is probably not very accessible if you don't have a car, although there is quite a good bus service on the Island and you may be able to catch a bus to a nearby village and walk to Porchfield.
