...My nan and her friend Ruby went to Whitby for a day trip with her friends at the Salvation Army. Nan had a stroke last year but is making massive strides forward lately and she's getting out and about again, going out with friends on a few day trips and going back to her old favourite ... Advantages: The knowledge of the fly

...I am a fly fisher. I enjoy it much more than coarse fishing which is featured on the site. It takes time in pleasure my hobby and I have devoted many years to it ever since I was 7, I was so eager to learn. Fly fishing I feel is a great hobby and people should take it up. ...Apparently there are nearly 100,000 known species of flies and it feels like every one of them can be found on my property, at least every species native to south east of England. In the past I always used Raid with satisfactory results but, having been berated by my environmentally aware friends for using such dangerous chemicals and aerosols, I gave up the can a couple of years ago in an effort to prove my green credentials. But two months ago, as the weather turned warmer and the flies returned, I again resumed my nasty spraying habits! ...Ever since I can remember I’ve hated heights. When doing PE at school I would never go up the climbing frame, because it made me feel unsafe. Even being up a ladder can make me giddy. I’ve been on flights to go holiday, but despite the enjoyment of being on a plane I have always been nervous. Nevertheless, one thing that I have always wanted to do is fly an aeroplane. Last year I was talking to a work colleague about flying when he mentioned that he used to have flying lessons.
