Indeed, long before Himself and I first visited Fountains with two English friends, I knew that it had been acknowledged as a World Heritage Site and I knew that the abbey's ruins were the most extensive of their kind to be found anywhere in Europe. Still, knowing and experiencing are two different things. No matter how much you know about Fountains beforehand, it will likely shock the senses. Located in northern Yorkshire in a secluded valley along the River Skell, Fountains was constructed in glorious isolation. Even today, one must actively seek the abbey in order to find it. Advantages: A must see in Rome
Disadvantages: It's only a fountain

...Ah, the Trevi Fountain. Some would say that it's the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome. Well, I wouldn't know about that - not having visited all 7,000 of them. Ok, that's maybe an exagerration, but there are quite a few of the old fontanas dotted around the eternal city. One thing's for sure though, it's certainly an impressive site...or sight, even. You would think that such a world famous and much visited tourist attraction would be situated in some grand piazza or boulevard. You'd be wrong. It's actually tucked away at the meeting point three nondescript road (tre vie) in a little square called, somewhat unimaginatively, Piazza del Trevi. Perhaps the mundane stroll through narrow streets before encountering this masterpiece of baroque architecture is part of its appeal...perhaps not. But it's definitely a gobsmacker. You... After looking at various different types (I didn’t know there was so much to consider!) I saw the Catit Water Fountain at a local cat show and decided to purchase one for my three mogs. I think this is the newest pet drinking fountain on the market at the time of writing and it does differ from the more usual style of ‘a stream of water falling into a pool’ pet water fountains. The Catit fountain is designed and recommended by vets. It is a shiny – iridescent white plastic and a blue dome which is shaped in kind’ve in a figure of 8 with a drinking ‘bowl’ at one side and at the other a dome where the water is pumped up through the middle on the inside and then runs over the surface... Advantages: stunning masterpiece

...When on a short break in Rome as I was in March 2007, it is very easy to find yourself in a position where you have to sacrifice seeing one sight in order to see another. The Trevi Fountain (Fontana Di Trevi) was never in danger of being sacrificed, and if you go there for yourself you will see why. In my opinion it is the most beautiful and stunning fountain in all of Rome. This baroque marble masterpiece stands 85 feet high and 65 feet wide, dominates the square in which it stands and is constantly crowded by tourists such is its popularity. Like many of the wonderful sights of Rome, this is free to go and see. Walking down the narrow cobbled streets you can here the crescendo of noise as the water becomes louder and louder, then suddenly as if out of nowhere you are confronted by a mass of people standing in awe in front... ...The war memorial commonly known as 'The Cenotaph' is actually one of Barbados's newest monuments. It was made to commemorate the brave soldiers who left Barbados to help England fight in the two world wars. The Fountain was built in 1865 to commemorate the advent of running water into Bridgetown. Most tourists to Barbados when they hit Bridgetown tend to head to the shops and yes I'm one of them as well! The memorial is at the heart of Bridgetown, this is where all the buses, taxis etc drop off the descending hordes of people. People usually know where the memorial and fountain are in Barbados but have they ever really looked at them, the answer to that unfortunately is probably no. To be honest there isn't much there. ...I received this chocolate fountain for Christmass along with a huge amount of chocolate to put in it - as a chocolate lover i could not wait to get it going, i bought alsorts of fruits and sweets that me & the family could dunk into the chocolate to satisify our chocolate craving. I was even given a douhnut maker which was an extra induldence to dip!
