...Back in the Summer of 2002 something special was happening; something that would have massive repercussions for the music industry and the future of reality TV; ten beautiful girls and ten moderately attractive boys were battling it out in a London studio in front of three famous music industry insiders for the chance of winning a music contract and achieving worldwide fame. Now, put like this, it might not seem like the most exciting prospect in the world but it was this show that not only eventually launched the most successful girlband since the Spice Girls, but it was also their success that proved to all the doubters who had, erm, doubted the significance and credibility of reality TV since the sad flop that was Hear'Say that televised talent shows would, and could, generate talent, longevity and music worth listening... It's A Girls World After All

Advantages: Extremely funny, very true to life and featuring a great cast
Disadvantages: Makes you realise how mean us girls can really be! (not me obv...)

...BACKGROUND: Girls are a precarious lot. One day you are friends, the next you're not. One minute you love each other, the next you don't. Whilst boys solve their problems with a quick burst of violence followed by a handshake, with girls, everything is done covertly and in such a way that even the meanest girl can appear sweeter than sugar and genial in the eyes of all but her terrorised victim. Cliques, gangs and outcasts are unfortunately common fixtures of most schools and bullying is something that many girls have suffered at the hands of their so-called friends and enemies alike. This undercover girl-against-girl war is the scenario that is at the forefront of this plot and that is addressed overtly and clearly in the film 'Mean Girls'. This is the reason why I think that this film, as well as being hilarious and pure... Read review
