Harrow, a different experience

Advantages: cool, green, quiet, less populated with lower tourist around
Disadvantages: Far from central london

...Harrow is in north west side of London. I haven not been lived there but have been there many times. Most of areas of Harrow falls in travel zone five of london. Most of tube station falls on metropolitin line with dark purple color on tube map. Major stops of harrows are North harrow, South harrow, West harrow, Harrow on the hill. It is surrounded by wembley, kenton, neasdon, kingsbury, queensbury etc. All of these areas have major population of asians specially Indians. Harrow is one of my favourite area in London because it is very cool. No hassles of city life as in central london. Most of residential area are quiet. It contain lots of green patches. So it looks like country side of England rather than area of London city. I had travelled through bus inside areas of Harrow and it is completely pleasure. If you are on upper deck...

Enjoy your Stay at the Comfort Hotel

Advantages: Friendly staff, modern facilities, good value
Disadvantages: Some areas of the hotel not as clean as others

...We have recently come back from a weekend away down in London. The trip was not purely a leisure break - although we did of course make the most of our time by perusing some of the sights in the capital. The main reason, however, for us going to London was so that my mum could attend a hospital appointment which was arranged for early on the Monday morning. Rather than travel down on the day and risk being late, we decided to travel down by train on the Saturday and make a long weekend of it. The hospital my mum attends is near Harrow, in Middlesex. After searching online for hotels in the local area, we came across the Comfort Inn hotel, which is located 5-10 minutes walk from Northwick Park underground station (on the Metropolitan Line). This was ideal as it was just a short walk away from the hospital, Northwick Park and St. Marks...

Advantages: Getting fit, feel healthy, Free TV, Set your own HARDNESS!
Disadvantages: Willpower required! Not good for Woosies!!

...different levels of access to clubs. You can buy a membership just for your club (£43.95 per month). You can buy membership for all 'blue' clubs (over £50 per month). The memberships for Platinum & Black are more. You will only get the prices for these by joining one. All clubs charge some sort of joining fee (called an Admin fee). At present its a one-off £30 but it does vary. Sometimes they'll have a special offer on & it'll be reduced. Included within membership: You get shown round the gym and the various machines explained to you like how to use them (safely). You get a plastic membership card, with your picture on it, that is used to lock and open your locker. Quite often there is some sort of incentive like free headphones & a sweat towel. Harrow Fitness First (a blue club): Location: Unit 35, 2nd Floor, St Georges Centre...

bp petrol station harrow

Advantages: easy transport access
Disadvantages: high petrol prices.

...products such as newspapers, crisps, Chocolates. Also it has a wild bean Coffee concession store, where people can order a cup of Coffee, Tea, or hot Chocolate. also the company has a car wash System. the forecourt is not overly big, though the shop itself, has plenty of sales space and the tiles are white and clean usually, and the shop is well lit. the shop has a Cash machine, clean toilets for Customer useage, and friendly Customer Service staff. In terms of value for money it is no different in price than going to a newsagency. Some of the Food products such as sandwiches, and cakes seem quite high. in terms of local petrol competition, there is a somerfield garage similar to the bp station located nearby in north harrow, literally three hundred meters away, and there is shell garage located at south harrow, which is about one mile away....

A Harrowing Account of Lost Childhood

Advantages: engrossing
Disadvantages: controversy about the truth

...I picked this book up in Duty Free when I was enroute to Belize. I was initially drawn to it firstly because it was a Sunday Times bestseller and secondly because of the innocently looking picture of a little girl on the front cover. However, as most pictures tell a 1000 words, once you realise what the book is about, you understand the poignancy of the picture on the front cover. The book is autobiographical and written by Kathy O'Beirne and tells her story of a ruined childhood, how she tried to come to terms with it and seek justice for the crimes committed on her. From the moment you start reading the first page, you are immediately drawn into a harrowing event that took place in the authors life. The author covers inexplicable child abuse within her family, incarceration at the infamous Magdelene Laundries to teenage...

A HARROWING CHILDHOOD

Advantages: The book is excellent - although the story being told of systematic physical and mental child abuse is hardly advantageous
Disadvantages: 8 years of tourture

...Dave Pelzer has the pleasure of being known to have suffered what many feel to be one of the worse cases of child abuse in the state of California EVER ( the 3rd worse in his state to be precise). His book A Child Called “IT” can only be described as harrowing to say the least. It is part of an autobiographical trilogy and is the first book. At present you may find the book nestling in the Top 10 best sellers and for me deservedly so. This book is not for the faint hearted or sensitive to say the least. It really would be too distressing to note scenes from this book. Suffice to say, Pelzer reveals to us his childhood. Until the age of 4 it was idyllic – mom, dad, Dave and his 2 older brothers. Like a scene from the Waltons. Some how though things stared to go wrong. Whether it was brought on by some...

WHY ARE SOME HOTELS SO INAPPROPRIATELY NAMED?

Advantages: Convenient for London, on-site parking, wireless internet, good lager
Disadvantages: very small rooms for very high prices

...When visiting London, quite often, I take the car, park it in Harrow and get the tube in. So the first time I had to stay, the concept of doing the same, and staying at a hotel with on-site parking was pretty much the same. The venue on this occasion was the Quality Hotel, Harrow where I vaguely remembered staying when the Swans won at Wembley (but that's another story). Although it had been renovated since my last stay, I am afraid that, from my limited experience, never was a chain of hotels more inappropriately named. Part of the Choice Hotels Europe group, the quality brand sits between Comfort at the bottom of the chain, and Clarion at the top, so what is on offer at a Comfort doesn't bear thinking about. I seem to remember vaguely that this particular outlet was once a Comfort but presumably changed its name when...

Debenhams Harrow

Advantages: One Store, Many Products
Disadvantages: Hm

...Debenhams Station Road Harrow Middlesex Postcode: HA1 1NA Telephone: 020 8427 4300 This store is great. It provides nearly everything a person could need under the one roof! From cookware and home ware to clothing, perfumes and gifts you are sure to find what’s needed at and reasonable price. There is also the recent addition of designer clothing in store form people such as Jasper Conran. This store is pretty standard of most Debenhams stores air-conditioned, well lit and spotlessly clean. The staff are extremely helpful and always over eager to provide a good service. They offer many services to the clientele such as loyalty store cards and a wedding list scheme. All products sold in the store have the unmistakable feel and look of quality and there is always a full refund if they are not to you liking. Quality comes...

Suspenseful drama about a harrowing subject

Advantages: Plot, good performances, suspenseful,
Disadvantages: Not AS chilling as other similar shows, Bryans 'invincibility' perhaps not overly realistic

...of action in the movie to keep you watching. There is also at least one quite exciting car chase, which is always a plus for me, you've got to love a good fast car chase scene! also the movie isn't too long at just under an hour and 35 minutes long, it kept my interest right to the end and it never felt like it was too predictable or sugar coated in any way really, as it does highlight at points some of the gruesome truths behind this harrowing trade, without it being too explicit or graphic either. The DVD has an 18 certificate but I think it could be rated 15 really, I'm presuming its due to the nature of the storyline and a couple of really very brief shots that it may have been given the 18 certificate, which puts me off most movies but the violence wasn't as bloody as I had thought it might be and there aren't really many (or any more than...

Review of Taken (DVD)

An Absorbing and Harrowing Read.

Advantages: Extremely enjoyable and gripping
Disadvantages: Some poorly developed bits

.... Complicating matters is the fact that the Oxford of her home time is hit by a flu epidemic an quarantined. The historians involved must try to establish a rendezvous with Kivrin in order to retrieve her, otherwise she will be marooned in the past. I found the best scenes to be those set in the past and very convincing whilst the weakest ones were those set in the future Oxford. It really difficult to write about a country that isn`t you own and these scenes are weakly developed. It would be nit-picking of me to complain too much for all in all this is a brilliant read whether you enjoy S.F.,Time Travel or simply historical novels. I have read several more of her novel since and none have had the impact that "Doomsday Book " have had - it will remain imprinted on my mind for a long ,long time to come. Harrowing, gripping.Read it !Comment upon...
