1). Royal Holloway offers a great variety in courses from languages to history, sciences to business studies and management. Not only does it offer great courses in themselves, but it also offers you many options with regards of how to study your choice of course. Fro example, on the languages front, they offer many different forms of modules and combinations, which allows you to study a great variety, and make the most of your University education.
2). Royal Holloway also offers a great amount of high quality accomodation which is reasonably priced and has a variety to suit everyone.

Advantages: Refreshing lyrics, new sounds, easy to listen to Disadvantages: Not enough exposure about this album
...I was recommended this through a flat-mate at university along with Art Brut's album Bang Bang Rock & Roll (which I also recommend by the way!). This album is lyrically superb, and is as fresh a sound as heard for a long-time, it really encaptulates the listener quickly and maintains an uplifting beat throughout.
A brief history on the four-piece Holloways includes notably a No.16 record single of the year by NME from the song 'Generator', featured on the album. They have also released 'Two Left Feet' and 'So This Is Great Britain', both entering the UK Single Charts around number 30, not that that really means much anyway!.
They are currently on tour and if the album becomes a favourite, then I would recommend seeing them live, I myself am going to the Carling Academy Birmingham soon to see them. They have yet to really break...

...I've just graduated from Royal Holloway, and have had a wonderful time there. I think it's a place that, if nothing else, deserves a slightly more comprehensive review on here than it's had so far. I love Royal Holloway. But it has its faults, which tends to mean that it's the sort of place you either love or hate. A bit like marmite. Hopefully, if you're considering going to RHUL, this review will help you decide whether it's the right place for you. Or not.
Royal Holloway, I admit, is not a particularly happening place. It's a campus University, situated at the top of what quite often seems to be the longest hill in Surrey (particularly when you're drunk or are carrying three bags of Tescos shopping and trying to walk up it), right opposite the village of Englefield Green. Englefield Green contains a few pubs, a few shops...
Advantages: his fraudulent way will persuade many to like him! Disadvantages: its all lies....should be in the fiction category

As a Plymouth Argyle fan I can't help but dislike Ian Holloway. As a volunteer at the club in the study centre I have met Holloway and listened to a few of his motivating pre match talks. His fame and fortune however is based on lies and deceipt.
Holloway is very popular in football for his hilarious quotes. I find myself laughing uncontrollably at some of them, but many are arrogant and mis-informed lies. It is safe to say that since his arrival at Plymouth Argyle Ian has made a huge impact, and his departure has made a larger one. Last years match against Ipswich at Home Park on the 31st October was known as 'Holloween' and Argyle fans dressed in appropriate attire to show support...thing is he managed to fool the whole city!

...I have lived in Archway for about the last ten years and anyone who knows this part of London will probably agree that the litter-strewn, dirty Holloway Road does nothing for the area. It is a pity as some of the Georgian houses off the main road are really beautiful and there are some interesting shops dotted around the area.
When I step into the Amico Coffee shop it is hard to imagine that I am in such a degenerate part of the capital. This Italian deli and coffee shop really has it all. The selection of specialist Italian products is wonderful and well worth a look at even if you don’t want to buy.
The coffee shop has a great selection of freshly made sandwiches made with different kinds of bread, there are salads and daily specials offered, but of course delis with this kind of take-out or eat in food are ten a penny...
Advantages: Friendly with a strong course Disadvantages: Not many opportunities for solo performance
...If you're planning to study music at university, Royal Holloway is definitely worth considering. This may be coming from a biased viewpoint, considering that I go there, but the department can claim to be one of the best in the country (having been awarded 5* in the latest two Research Assessment Exercises), while being more relaxed than somewhere like Oxford or Cambridge.
The department is housed across the road from the main campus, in a lovely little building complete with narrow corridors and winding staircases, which just gives it a bit more character than many other 60s-esqe, concrete office-block type departments. It's a reasonably small (although growing) department, with about 50 people in each year. Which means that you can quite easily get to know nearly everyone in your year, at least to say hello to, and many people in...

Advantages: A decent debut of catchy tracks Disadvantages: Won't appeal to many who don't appreciate Indie music
...It seems that every time I think the British Indie scene has really peaked the next year a whole new batch of decent bands seems to appear. Towards the end of last year a 4 piece band from North London arrived on the scene determined to be the next big thing. With a bit of luck and a continuation of their current hard work that could be a possibility for The Holloways. The release of this, their debut album on the 30th October last year is certainly the first step towards bigger things. It just seems a shame they haven't had the amount of radio play the singles deserve.
Having met originally back in 2004 in a live music venue on the Holloway Road the band adopted the name and started to make music. With influences seeming to have been taken from just about every Indie band over the last 20 years it stands the album on a good footing...

...-2002 QPR were placed into Administration, whilst their finances were sorted out, luckily this did not last very long, and with selling playing and cutting wages they managed to get back on the straight and narrow.
In 2002/2003 QPR reached the play-off final in Cardiff but unfortunately lost 1-0 in the 88th minute.
QPR currently have a first team squad of 29 players, two of which were on loan but look set to return to their original clubs.
The team is currently headed by Ian Holloway, who has worked closely with Gerry Francis (former QPR Manager) Ian is very passionate towards the club and is keen on pushing them onwards and upwards.
The team has several nicknames – including Super Hoops (as the playing in blue and white hoops), the R’s (short for rangers), Rangers and of course QPR.

...It's a great gym and highly convenient for where I live, but the people need to know - it's Holloway. Nearer Upper Holloway BR than Holloway Road tube. Only estate agents call this part of the world Islington!
The gym is good though. And so far, very uncrowded (although it has only been open a couple of months - I hope it lasts!)
I've only been to one class, it was yoga which was OK. They have really good machines and a large number of cardio equipment. There's a "Ladies gym" which is good if you're feeling flabby (although I don't understand why they don't have rowers in there).
The place is really nicely decorated and makes you feel like you're somewhere glam.
There is a really good Bliss juice bar which does loads of healthy wraps and sandwiches, and unhealthy cookies. I will never have to cook again....
Advantages: Beautiful buildings - 15th best uni in country Disadvantages: Expensive and boring town
...Royal Holloway is one of those places where you will love it or you hate it - fortunately I am one of the lovers of this place (RHUL)
RHUL is situated in a little village in Egham, Surrey, about 40 minutes train journey from London - conveniently placed on top of a hill which even the Everest conquerors may struggle getting up.
Let us get one thing straight first of all. When I applied for the University to arrive September 2003, it was 9th in the league. This is a great acheivement for a rather unknown University - and coming 9th out of about 130 is a superb quality. It slipped to 15th in 2004.
The educational facilities in RHUL are top-notch. Research wise all subjects received a 4 or above (4 is very very good) and a lot of subjects particularly in the sciences got 5* - the highest possible.
You cannot talk about RHUL...
